Diablo - Stuck with a class

Stuck with a class

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 05:23 PM PDT

Hi guys. I'm relatively new to Diablo (was playing without RoS for like 300 just by doing campaign over and over) Now that i bought RoS it's been like 100 hours and i realize that i can't play anything else than barbarian. Every other class seems boring to me or too "weird". I currently have 3 lvl 70 Barbarian and about 5 more lvl 60. And every time i try to play something else i just get bored of it and delete it after lvl 50ish. Is it bad to rely on just one class to play ? Am i playing the game wrong ? But it just feels so stupidly great to spam charge then hammer with barb or just spinning around.

Small tips for game play

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 06:58 AM PDT

So, I was playing with a friend today who has 1000's of hours in D3 since release.

When she was explaining about how a particular GR was hectic because of all the left click mashing, I questioned what she meant. After some explaining I realised she didn't know you could just hold down attacks to autocast w/e spell is attached.

She was sure this wasn't the case, so had to test it out; Her mind was blown.

TL:DR: Holding down the attack, autocasts it

Ramaladni's Triumph (Concept recipe)

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 10:37 AM PDT

Combining three standard Ramaladni's Gifts in the cube (with some other magic stuff thrown in etc.) should give you the rarer and more powerful Ramaladni's Triumph which can add a socket to jewellery items.

Triumphs can also drop in the wild but they are very rare, with a slightly higher rarity than ancient items.

Most of us want this change, it was voted quite highly in a season 15 poll from Lordfluffy and ThaPChild.

XP from Born's and Cain's sets in GRift

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 08:44 AM PDT

I see lately that there are groups 4 players(rath runs) in which support barbarian plays with Born(+2% xp) + Cain(+5% xp) sets

I was wondering how many extra paragons(main stat) we would get from this?

Here is the short answer:

at 1000 paragons we will get an additional 1 paragons or 5 main stat

at 2000 paragons we will get an additional 6 paragons or 30 main stat

at 3000 paragons we will get an additional 8 paragons or 40 main stat

at 4000 paragons we will get an additional 11 paragons or 55 main stat

at 5000 paragons we will get an additional 13 paragons or 65 main stat

Here are detailed calculations:

  • sets Born (+2% xp) + Cain (+5% xp) = total 7% xp for the group
  • this experience is shared in a group, equal to each player or 7(xp) / 4(players) = 1.75% xp per player
  • this bonus XP is only applied to an XP of monsters in GRift, but not to the XP for closing the rift.
  • approximately 50% of the experience in GRift is from monsters and 50% from XP for closing the rift
  • which means that these 1.75% xp per player are applied to 50% of the total experience gained from GRift.
  • which means that this bonus XP 1.75% reduces twice or 1.75% / 2 = 0.875% per player for one GRift

Table - Тotal paragons + additional paragons from Born+Cain sets

Paragons Total XP(trillions) if used Born+Cain set(+0.875% xp) Total XP(trillions)+0.875% xp Paragons +main stat
1000 10.311 +0.875% 10.401 1001 5
2000 119.324 +0.875% 120.368 2006 30
3000 388.100 +0.875% 391.496 3008 40
4000 959.908 +0.875% 968.307 4011 55
5000 1939.817 +0.875% 1956.790 5013 65

Do you use XP items in GRift and why?

I apologize for my bad еnglish.

Frustration about personal skill

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 01:01 PM PDT

So I've been trying to finish some end builds for my characters (chicken WD if anyone remembers (shout out to you)) and when I came back to my main character/the one that can do the highest rift, I die at T13 constantly because I am not used going that far away or dodging or anything monk related. Oh yeah the character is monk.

Anyway everytime I play online or with my friends I Iet them down because I constantly die and slow them down. Even though a month ago it wasn't an issue.

A bit frustrated with myself, that's it.

Interested in Diablo II mods, but I'm sort of picky

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 01:01 AM PDT

I've got roughly 12,000 - 15,000 hours put into Diablo II since I started playing when I was 14. That said, I've gotten pretty burnt out. In fact, I've maybe put only 100 of those hours in over the last 4 years. If I had to guess, I'd say 2,000 of those hours were single-player. So I figured maybe there are better ways for me to enjoy single-player.

So I'd just like some suggestions for mods that may (or may not) exist to give me the fresh D2 experience I'd like. But there are some preferences though.

  1. No overhauls. I don't want the game changed fundamentally or excessively. It's the simpler and more subtle changes like bigger stashes that I'm interested in. So
1B) Few or no skill reworks. Balances are great, as some skills need buffed, reworks are not okay. 1C) No new classes.

  2. No "easy mode" mods. I like the challenge. I don't want a mod that increases drop rates and lowers difficulty etc. Making things more convenient (Like larger stash/inventory) is great, but breaking the game difficulty overall is not. The only exception I'd make for this is increasing the high-rune drop rate. Despite the thousands of hours I have put into single-player, the highest rune I've ever had drop was Mal. This pretty much excludes all but a few of the good runewords and so it WOULD be cool to get to work with them for once.

  3. New items are great, but not too much. I'd like just enough new items to change the experience, but not so much that it feels like a different game either. I also would only want few if any of these items to be overpowered compared to the others. Again, I'm not going for easy mode here.

  4. New cube recipes would be cool. But same as above, they need to not break the game difficulty.

I know that's a pretty restrictive request. Actually, I'll be pleasantly surprised if there's a mod at all that meets these requirements. I figure it's worth a try to ask though.

Can i download Diablo 3 on my mac then put the 18gb file on my hard drive then delete it when not in use?

Posted: 01 Aug 2018 04:32 AM PDT

My mac is memory poor, so i need to micro manage 18gb is a lot. So maybe i download Diablo 3 on my mac. But i thought if i copied the filed into my hard drive.... I could delete the file when i'm not using it.

Really considering buying one of those after market drives to upgrade to 1TB or maybe even 2TB but it is so pricey. 1 grand to upgrade this potato. Probably better off just making a mediocre gaming pc haha.
