Diablo - Reading Book of Tyrael was painful when you realized how deeply Leah trusted Adria

Reading Book of Tyrael was painful when you realized how deeply Leah trusted Adria

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 05:41 AM PDT

In Book of Tyrael, there is an entire chapter devoted to Cain's writings on Adria, and how he suspected her of foul deeds. On nearly every page however, you saw Leah's words scribbled on the side in which she desperately tries to justify Adria's strange actions, and how reassured she is of her mother's goodness.

Most heartbreaking is the part where Leah is almost accusatory in her tone to Cain(who's dead already): Mother fought the evils in her own way. Doesn't mean she was wrong, uncle.

In the final page, Leah even wrote a line in which she was ecstatic about the imminent defeat of Azmodan, and how Adria promised that they could finally be mother and daughter again once the demons were defeated.

I am endlessly thankful we finally slew Adria in RoS.

New to Diablo. What to buy?

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 04:12 PM PDT

I'm Interested in getting into Diablo. I am downloading the trial right now and if I like it I want to buy it. With the sale going on I can get the standard for $10 or the battle chest for $20 and the DLC for $10. I was thinking get the battle chest but I wouldn't know.

Lesson: People enjoy allocating points.

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:39 PM PDT

If we've learned anything from the successes and failures of rpg games, We've learned that people want to choose how their character develops via some form of skill tree regardless if theorycrafters determine what the best combination of skills to choose are. History has shown us that when your character levels up you generally get some higher base stats, some stat points and a various amount of skill points to allocate. Blizz tried to fix this in a terribly bland and mediocre way with Paragon levels but it didn't quite have a lasting impression.

Point: If they are working on a new Diablo game they NEED to bring back some meaningful character progression. Furthermore they need to make gearing more versatile and stop pigeonholing people into one or two skill builds. Remember Diablo is not just about the character but also the loot!

Corrupted path file

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 03:35 PM PDT

I installed Diablo II a little while ago and have been reveling in the past with a sorceress in single player. I attempted to connect to battle.net through the game menu and it wasn't able to patch because of an ostensible corrupted path file. Is there a way of troubleshooting this problem without having to reinstall the game? Should I have registered Diablo II before attempting to connect to the servers?

Latest Diablo 3 Cosmetic/Pet list?

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:40 PM PDT

I have a list in my GDrive from patch 2.4.1 that I believe is slightly outdated. Is there a known shared GDrive document that is up to date as of this season with all the Cosmetic items, pet locations, and any unique items (like the unique blue weapons) that has a full breakdown and chance of drop rates? I didn't see anything linked on the sidebar like this.

If needed, I can link the one I have and make it public for anyone to update/add to it for the community.

Diablo 2 runewords in single player

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 11:45 AM PDT

I've been trying to research this but I'm not sure I can find a conclusive answer. With a character created in single player, would I theoretically be able to craft items in Hell with some of the more popular and elusive rune words (i.e grief or spirit) or do those only exist on bnet ladder?

Gameplay-wise, where do you think the Diablo series should go?

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 01:25 AM PDT

Should it keep the isometric camera? Should it keep the D&Dish system (Hitting and dodging depending not on your skill but on pure stats)? Should it keep being about killing dozens of enemies at once or should the regular enemies be a little more challenging?

I am a huge fan of Diablo (specially Diablo and Diablo 2, but I did like Diablo 3 too). However for a couple of years I have been thinking it would be neat if the gameplay evolves into something else, maybe like the Souls/Bloodborne series . I think it would make for a more inmersive, intense and engaging experience. Also I think the kind of athmosphere a game like Diablo tries to create would be greatly benefited by that kind of change. But I do know that tons of fans wouldn't like a gameplay change because for them that's what defines Diablo.

What do you think?

What's the point of a "Closer"

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 04:18 AM PDT

Seriously, what's the advantage of having someone leach the game by waiting in town to blindly close a rift as soon as you kill the boss regardless of the situation ?

If its all about speed the it would be better to just have them help clear the rift especially since having them in the game gives enemies more hit points. There could be a giant goblin pack just to the left of the RG but they are blind to the situation.

Maybe if they removed the cooldown timer for normal rifts we could finally get rid of the weird hyper efficiency mechanics and just explore as much as we want and close whenever we want.

Diablo 4: Back to Hell

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 07:27 AM PDT

Cain has become a powerful wizard in the afterlife and is now on a quest to save Leah's soul. Meanwhile, earth is falling into turmoil as fissures to hell have opened around the world as both the primary and lesser evils grow stronger and unleash their minions to terrorize and destroy mankind. Cain cannot forge his way through the mounting turmoil on his own. He will need the assistance of a true mortal as only a mortal can forge his/her way through the demon plague, defeat the primary evils, and save Leah's soul. There ya go....let's go! No fireworks displays this time around....time to get back to the dark and gritty dungeon crawler we love, with enhanced skill trees where each character will have at least 10 viable builds.

Diablo II Remaster?

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 08:15 AM PDT

I got the itch to revisit Diablo II LoD so I was going to re-purchase and install it on battle.net, but I came across a thread earlier in the month that contained speculation that Diablo II might be getting some kind of remaster treatment in the near future. Is there anything definitive on this point? Would I be better off waiting or is there a chance they will butcher what makes the game great and I should jump on OG DII LoD while I have the chance?

Tell me about d3 planner.

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 12:05 AM PDT

Hello boys,

I am always looking to improve my game and one of the best ways to do that is to get better gear and learn more about the stats that are important to your build. I've heard about d3planner and I'd thought I give it a go. However, it's a bit too much for me at the start, and I was wondering whether I should keep at it and learn more about it. Is it a handy tool? Will it help me achieve my goals of improving my character?
