Since my MINING UPDATE post blew up, here are 5 more Cave Biome Concepts!

Posted: 17 Jul 2018 01:54 PM PDT

Here's the first post if you missed it.

Wow, 4K Upvotes in a day?! Thanks everyone! Here are 5 more Cave Biome concepts, some of which were suggestions from my last post:

Mushroom Caves

  • Rarely spawns in any biome, and spawns exclusively in Mushroom Islands.
  • Floor is covered in "Stone Mycelium" (Mycelium can now spread to stone, albeit much much slower than dirt)
  • "Hanging Roots" hang from the walls. They sometimes drop sticks upon breaking.
  • Mushrooms, and slanted giant mushrooms spawn.

Slime Caves

  • Spawns frequently in swamps, but rarely in all other biomes.
  • Lots of "Slimey Stone", which drops cobblestone and sometimes a slime ball. (When a slime jumps on stone enough there's a chance it'll turn into Slimey Stone)
  • Slime Stone Stalactite and Stalagmites can also spawn.
  • "Dripping Slime" can form off of stalactites. You can walk through them (although slightly slowed down), breaking it sometimes drops a slime ball.
  • "Slime Puddles" occasionally form on the floor, which can be created by slimes rarely as well. They sometimes drop slime balls.
  • Slime Blocks occasionally spawn.
  • Slimes frequently spawn.
(Alternative idea: Slime Caves spawn completely normal, except for the high amount of Slimes spawning, and over time they'll naturally change the cave into the slime cave)

Bio-luminescent Caves

  • Extremely rarely spawns in any biome.
  • "Glowworm Stone" frequently spawns in clusters. It emits little to no light in it's environment, but glows in complete darkness.
  • "Glowshrooms" frequently spawn. Can be used to brew potions of luck.
  • Water pools more commonly spawn.

Improved Nether

  • The Nether occasionally has large stalactites and stalacmites, even in the lava ocean.
  • Ceiling View
  • Long "Hanging Roots" occasionally hang from the ceilings and walls.

Nether Quartz Crystal Caverns

  • A small cave that rarely spawns in fully or partially closed caves.
  • Distant View
  • Has large Quartz crystals, with lots of Nether quartz ore spawning around them.
  • Smaller Netherrack Stalactites and Stalacmites spawn.

Hope you enjoyed! Not sure if I'll do another, but I'm open to ideas/critiques. Thanks for your support everyone!
