| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 02:44 PM PDT I got a 96% shiny Kyogre, making it my second one out of 6 raids the last few days, and then on my next Pokémon encounter I got a shiny Aron, and shortly afterwards I hatched a perfect Spheal. Here's a video for proof. I couldn't even tell my raid group because they already weren't happy I got two shiny Kyogres so quickly. Sorry if this annoys anyone, I just needed to tell someone about this. If it makes you feel any better, I don't think anything lucky will happen to me ever again. [link] [comments] |

| How Vaporeon from Pokemon Go saved a life Posted: 08 Jun 2018 10:03 PM PDT Hello, yesterday a person was saved because of a vaporeon in pokemon go. We saw a vaporeon on the tracker and went to that pokestop, but when we arrived we did not see the pokemon so we looked near the pokestop if it was far away. There was a little stream under a bridge that you could not see if not in the right angle. So as we walked out there we saw a guy in a red jacket lying in the stream and almost drowning. He could not get up so we went down and wanted to help him up. He was drunk as hell and did not want help, so we had to call the police. They found out that he was in the water for almost 2 hours and if we had not found him thanks to pokemon go, he would either have drowned or frozen to death. So thanks to a vaporeon a persons life was saved. We now tell that we found a red vaporeon on our adventures :) [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 05:14 PM PDT interestingly enough, these were actually two separate wailmers i was able to catch, not some despawn glitch or anything. my game bugged out when i tried to click the first time and after a reboot, indeed, thicc wailmer booty was still there. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 03:52 PM PDT So, long story short - I have not played in a REALLY long time. I think I quit around the 1st or 2nd week. I decided to download it again and start over after hearing the Let's GO Eevee/Pikachu news. At a Pokestop, I met some cool people who had also just moved into this town (yay im not the only new guy) and they invited me into their town PoGo group. A few days later, I'm level 20 and got to take my shot against the Kyogre raid this morning! It was reeeally close (we had 6 seconds left), but we did beat it and to top it all off - I NABBED MYSELF A SHINY ONE! This community is pretty great from what I've seen so far! I've been lurking here and there for a while! [link] [comments] |
| Gyms should have themes that boost cp for certain defender types Posted: 09 Jun 2018 04:47 PM PDT In the main games, each gym has a theme that generally revolves around a certain pokemon type, which means you need to make a strategic choice of which pokemon to counter it with. In Go, there could be an incentive for gyms to encourage defenders to use pokemon of a certain type (such as water types etc), like a CP and gym experience boost for pokemon of the corresponding type. The type/s for each gym could be randomly allocated each time it changes teams, or during each update, or be permanent. This would encourage more strategy for defenders and attackers, it would mean more pokemon could be used effectively as defenders, and gyms wouldn't all be stacked with the same defenders most of the time. Overall it would result in a more diverse and tactical experience. [link] [comments] |

| [Complaint] Niantic needs to drastically rethink the recommended lineup for raids Posted: 09 Jun 2018 06:29 PM PDT In some respects, I understand why the recommended lineup for a raid shouldn't just pick the best pokemon counters for every boss - after all, how else would n00bs learn what to use? However, the current system is completely non-sensical and counterproductive. I enter the lobby for a Kyogre raid with some fellow raiders. We've got 7 people and it appears Kyogre has Blizzard. What does the game recommend?
Not only are these suggestions pathetic, but they actually teach trainers to be worse. When the raid started, immediately i see a Blissey, Aggrons, and things weak or double weak to ice attacks. When I tried to convince people to switch to Raikou or Jolteon, some Holier-than-thou trainer literally says "It wasnt even in the recommended lineup dude". We failed the raid, naturally. I propose that Niantic FORCE trainers to pick 6 pokemon. No hand holding, but also no deliberate misleading of what the best choices are. This will spur discussion amongst raid groups and lead to better outcomes for shortmanning raids. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
| [Meta] Can we please stop with the shiny pic posts? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 05:02 PM PDT I think we all know what the shinies look like by now, I feel that it's clogging up this subreddit at this point with multiples of the same shiny being posted daily. There's also a PoGo subreddit that is meant for bragging, why not post there instead instead of showing us the same shinies over and over again? Is anybody else getting a bit frustrated as well? | Is it elitist to consider lvl 34 to be “low”? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 09:35 PM PDT My gf and I went around town today trying to get some raids done, specifically looking for a Kyogre which neither of us had. We eventually found a group and joined them while waiting for the egg to hatch. I asked if we were waiting on anyone and one guy said they had a friend who was on his way. Cool, I don't mind waiting a bit. Eventually we get into the waiting room and we have about 12 or 13 people total. I scroll through the list of players and comment that the number of Valor and Mystic players is about equal, and wonder which team will top the DPS. One of the other guys there comments "Eh, they are all low level anyway. So they won't do any decent DPS to matter." I look through again, seeing people at lvl 34, 35, 36, a 33, etc. No one below 30, certainly. "Low level?" I say, "I don't see anyone at low level." He responds that 34 is low. I assume he must be joking; I know when you look at XP across all levels that 37 is the true midway point, but to call a lvl 34 "low" or unimportant for damage at all seems ridiculous to me. "Oh come on, 34 isn't low. I'm 33 myself." He reasserts that no, 34 is low. I told him that mentality was elitist. Nothing escalated to a fight or anything, we started the raid at that point and didn't say much more except to ask about IVs and CP and such. But his attitude bothered me. Especially since my girlfriend doesn't get much playtime and is lvl 27. She admitted to me later that he made her self-conscious that she wasn't good enough to play. I don't think there's any place for that kind of attitude. You don't need to be lvl 40 to contribute to defeating a raid boss. Obviously a lvl 40 can probably do more damage than a lvl 34, but to imply the 34 is weak and not worth having around is pretty terrible. It's the way he callously shot down anyone who wasn't at max level that bugged me. But I wondered; do I have a minority opinion? Do most people think like him? Do you all think lvl 34s are "low" and can't contribute to beating a raid boss? Does that make me and my gf even less valuable than that? tl;dr guy we raided with today was callous and implied that unless you are max level, you aren't worth anything in the game, which I think is a terrible elitist attitude to have. | [Question] Who has NOT caught Mew yet? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 02:12 AM PDT I was wondering if there are trainers out there who have not completed all the research tasks and thus not caught Mew yet? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 08:56 AM PDT I started playing Pokémon Go the day it was released in North America. Within three months I was level 24 but I had to stop playing because I had to buckle down and study for my NCLEX (nursing licensure exam). A couple of weeks ago, my fiancé (who started and stopped playing the same time as me) mentioned that he's gonna start playing again so I decided to follow suit :) I've missed this game and I can't believe how much has been added to it! | Incubating Egg Indicator Implementation Posted: 09 Jun 2018 08:06 PM PDT I apologize in advance, as I know this has been posted before, but this is my the far the most annoying mechanic (or lack thereof) of the game for me, and I've been getting unreasonably upset over such a small detail. So many times now I've not realized that I've gone 20 minutes, an hour, 4 hours, or up to 3 days without incubating an egg after my last egg hatch. So much goes on in this wonderful game that, in the moment of an egg hatch, I sometimes forget I need to throw another one in my infinite incubator. I just want something, ANYTHING, that will indicate to me that I have no egg currently incubating. ...a box similar to your buddy pokémon... ...an exclamation point... ...a giant ridiculous opaque message that takes up the entire screen stating "NO EGGS CURRENTLY INCUBATING!" anything. Anyone think there's a chance this will ever be implemented? Is this too much to ask? Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
| Best way to find players near me? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 02:39 PM PDT I play in a somewhat populated area (30sq miles, 30,000 people) but when I play I very rarely see others playing. It makes legendary raids Impossible. Any good apps you guys use for finding players near you? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 02:19 PM PDT Was feeling pretty tired from work and wasn't originally going to do the raid across the street but I figured I had some time to spend. Ended up getting a shiny on my first Kyogre raid! I gotta say I was pleasantly surprised. (I've taken a look at the rules but I may have missed something. If posts like this are not allowed, please remove it if possible, thanks.) [link] [comments] |

| Question: Connecting with more local players Posted: 09 Jun 2018 09:42 PM PDT I got real active after about a year and change off a month or so ago. I'm developing quickly (level 27, finished mew, have mewtwo) but don't know many people playing in my area to take on the 4-5* raids. I'd like to do more of these for the TMs, experience, and rare Pokémon, but the local subreddit is pretty dead. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 09:31 PM PDT Caught a Magikarp today and it came with a collector bonus. Is this for the fisherman badge? Have never noticed this before and that's the only thing I can think it would be for.. [link] [comments] |
| Lost my first chance at a Lapras, during Water Festival. Posted: 09 Jun 2018 01:14 AM PDT I'm in a small town with not a lot of rare spawns. The first one I've seen in the wild popped up near my house. I went out to get it, popped a golden razz, used an ultra ball, threw an excellent curveball.... aaaaaaaand it's gone. Just needed to vent my pain to people that might understand. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 09 Jun 2018 12:43 PM PDT Accidentally got signed out the other day and when my wife and I try to re sign in via google or Facebook or even when we try to create a trainer account. It just sits on the Pokémon go screen like it is trying to log in and just sits there loading. Tried reinstalling, tried unlinking, we can't seem to log back in sucks especially during an event. If anyone has suggestions we would love to try them as this is getting ridiculous. [link] [comments] |
