Sombra's reload feels worse than her bugs

Posted: 13 Jun 2018 07:35 AM PDT

So there has been a lot of complaining about all of Sombra's bugs, and how they make her "F-tier". Of course, the bugs bother me. Hack feels terrible, but in my opinion her reload is just as bad, if not worse. Every single one of her abilities cancels reload. This makes it really hard to play Sombra in the middle of a fight. Imagine if Tracer's blinks were to cancel reload. That would not only feel awful to play, but make here a lot easier to kill because she would be left a sitting duck while waiting to reload, and her reload would reset if she has to use blink to dodge, leaving her vulnerable for even longer.

With the latest Sombra changes, the developers tried to make Sombra more aggressive and able to participate in team fights, but her reload has always been a big obstacle for this. For example: you and your team are fighting on point, and you notice that a low HP Hanzo is climbing up to high ground to escape. But you only have 7/60 bullets left, and a Brigitte is closing in on you, ready to bash you to death. You're not going to let that happen, so of course you chase the Hanzo. You don't have time to reload before translocating to the Hanzo, and you can't reload while translocating. So you have to translocate, use your 7 bullets, nearly killing him, then get locked into a 1.5 second reload time, which is enough time for Hanzo to delete you.

Therefore, the only option that would allow you to survive in that fight would be to translocate away, leave your team 5v6 for a short period of time, while you go grab a HP pack and reload in the other room, giving that Hanzo enough time to get healed. Then your whole team gets Grav/Dragonstrike combo'd. All of that could have been prevented if translocator didn't cancel reload. How is Sombra supposed to contribute if her kit prevents her from fulfilling her role as DPS?

One additional problem with her reload that is hard to show in the clip: you can't hack if you're reloading. If the enemy Rein is pinning a teammate, it's Sombra's job to hack him and save her teammate. But if she's reloading, she just has to watch her Mercy get smashed into a wall, which leads to the next team fight being lost. Other heroes, such as McCree and Ana can cancel their reload to use flashbang/sleep dart to stop the Rein and prevent a lost team fight. This is what makes Sombra F-tier: her inability to contribute because she can't reliably use her own kit.

[Humor] Top 5 Reasons Not To Leave Quick Play 10 Seconds Before You Lose (Number 4 Will Shock You)

Posted: 13 Jun 2018 08:17 AM PDT

So we all love Quick Play. It's a gamemode where you can have a fulfilling Overwatch experience, coordinate and communicate with your team to form effective compositions, and practice that attack Torbjorn that you want to use on ladder! But sometimes Quick Play doesn't doesn't go your way, and you want to get right out of that disastrous match as soon as possible. Well, here are five reasons NOT to leave before that timer has ticked down to zero.

Number 1: You don't get xp from the game

Yes, it's true! When you leave a game before the end screen, you don't recieve xp for any of your hard work. Fewer xp means fewer loot boxes, and you never know, that Genji skin you've wanted since you bought the game could be right around the corner!

Number 2: The leaver's penalty

If you leave games early repeatedly, you might incur a leavers penalty! This means that not only will you not get xp when you leave before the game is over, but you'll even miss out on 75% of your xp if you win. And surely you wouldn't want to miss out on a reward for leading your team to victory.

Number 3: You can't join another game anyway

So let's say you don't really care about your level or loot boxes. As explained by Jeff Kaplan in a somewhat recent post, the matchmaker won't even put you in another game until your previous game has completed its entire ending cycle. So to all those hoping to speed up the matchmaking process, think again before you leave! Stay and see if you got the Play of the Game or an illustrious end card, or commend a fellow player for their efforts!

Number 4: It causes last-second backfill

Since Blizzard like to keep their Quick Play games full at all times, they ensure that vacant spaces in your team are filled up quickly. Sometimes it's great to hop into a half-completed game and help turn the tide of the battle, but when you leave with a few seconds left in the match, all you get is disappointed players joining to a big "DEFEAT". Be considerate, and wait out till the game's finished so no one has to deal with such a waste of time.

Number 5: You look like a petulant dick

Yes, I didn't believe it myself at first but studies have shown that when you leave in a huff because you're upset with your team you in fact come across as a childish ass who can't handle losing a no-stakes game of Overwatch. Wow! Isn't science amazing!

Well there you have it. Can you think of any other reasons not to ragequit before the end of your Overwatch game? If so, tell me in the comments down below and don't forget to drop a like, subscribe and hit that bell icon so you don't miss another fact post.
