| A level 25 Visage spammer did a ridiculous trick in a game I was in Posted: 13 Jun 2018 12:49 PM PDT I just played this game where a visage player bought aghs, summoned 3 birds, sold the aghs, and then bought out pipe while keeping the 3 birds. Free aghs if you have the 4k gold. You may have to buy the point booster and tp to the well instantly to make it work, I'm pretty sure that's how it works because that's what he did. That's 4k gold for free. I'm posting this on the main sub too, I'm almost 100% sure if this post blows up it'll be patched instantly. You can blame me for it xD [link] [comments] |

| thoughts on left side talent of sven? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 03:43 PM PDT the left side mainly focuses on svens stun. is it ever going to be useful? [link] [comments] |
| You have to pick one replay to show us how AMAZING your favorite hero is. Which one is it? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 05:42 PM PDT One of the first professional Dota videos I've ever seen was Bulba's Clockwerk play against LGD: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zT1NIhqyCLA Back then I had no idea what is happening on the screen, I just thought the hero looks fun. Tried him against bots, failed miserably and I never played him again for months. Then I started playing against people, tried him again and had a lot of fun. Now 72 CW games later I rewatched the highlights of Bulba's Clockwerk and I find them even more impressive. Which game demonstrates the abilities of your favorite hero(es) best? I'm not really looking for games where someone stomps on a smurf account or does a meme build. I'm more interested in high MMR or pro replays where someone has an amazing game on the hero and maybe does tricks which low MMR people wouldn't think about (for example like Bulba kept using RF and hook to cancel TPs) so that we can learn from it. | What makes a hero a support/core? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 02:33 PM PDT Why are heroes like AM and PL (almost) always picked as a core while someone like shadow demon, rhasta, etc are picked as supports? What are the defining factors in telling whether a hero works better as a support or a core? [link] [comments] |

| Laning against invoker as QOP strategy. Posted: 13 Jun 2018 12:36 PM PDT I have been playing a lot of QOP recently and I win the vast majority of my lanes however I never really stomp on invokers all that much. I feel like I can't push them out of lane because they have quas regen and their attack damage is high compared to mine, especially before I get my second null. The other thing is that I can't really blink onto him to dagger/scream because he will wreck me with various spells. Unlike say an sf where I can just blink onto him with raindrops and get him <50% hp. So what is the recommended strategy against him? [link] [comments] |
| [Fluff][Very low MMR]Signs that this is going to be a hard game ! Posted: 13 Jun 2018 08:49 AM PDT Alright. As someone that started like 2 months ago (playing a lot though) I think I can start making a list of things happening during the draft or the first couple minutes that show this is going to be a hard game ! I'm not listing the usual 4-5 carries team, the support contesting gold (when you got a support) etc. Because that's bread and butter at sub 1k MMR ! Now, you know you're fucked when:
Your turn, guys! Share your draft/early game "oh fuck" moments ! [link] [comments] |
| How to practice Creep Blocking? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 12:25 PM PDT I play Offlane and been playing Mid Lane a bit more. I am fairly inconsistent at it, but I want to get a lot better at it because it's very important to be good at it in these lanes. I think having a great creepblock can get you a bit of a level and equilibrium/high ground advantage that can start your lane off on the right foot. Just wondering how I can practice this or if there's like a custom game or in-game commands in private lobbies that I can use to practice creepblocking. [link] [comments] |
| Dire vs Radiant Creeps difference? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 11:55 AM PDT Was running some tests in the lobby...only had my hero, no other spawns, I spent the entire time in my fountain. I also let the game run a bit while doing some work. What I expected, with no heroes in lanes at all, that the creeps basically would equal each other out, with the range creeps on both sides being the final two creeps. Even if maybe the RNG allowed for 1 melee creep to live, so you have two creeps alive after a wave, they would immediately run into the tower and die before the next wave came. If there was going to be imbalance, I thought it would be in the safe lanes where the towers are further apart which meant double waves (or actually a wave plus a creep or two) could actually happen and push into the tower with the next wave. So after just couple minutes, the waves were completely out of equilibrium and the middle wave was the most random (or at least back and forth). Through 15 minutes of no interaction, both middle towers were below half health. There seemed to not be any mirroring of sides (damage to towers not equal or comparable really from dire safe to radiant safe or mid or offlane) I guess I dont understand how the lanes can fluctuate so much without any hero interference at all...and if it is just RNG causing this much disruption, it seems like it never equalized out and was pretty big randomness. For example, The radiant safe T1 went down at 21, and got all the way to the T2 and took it at 23 mins. The Dire Safe lane T1 was only at half health. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 12 Jun 2018 11:50 PM PDT I really enjoy the hero, but he feels like a very situational pick. I just want to know when it's a good time to pick him. Sorry for low effort, but I don't know what else to say. [link] [comments] |
| When can luna jungle reliably? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 12:58 AM PDT Hi /r/learndota2, So I've tried Luna for a couple of matches (haven't played her since TI7 battle pass), and wow she's much more powerful compared to AM. She doesn't need to buy expensive items like battlefury and only needs mask of madness, unlike AM, which means she is good for lower MMRs. I've won one game, and I've lost one game. Looking at my GPM, I did not do well. The laning phase was a nightmare and slark killed me a couple of times. My thought was I should've jungled earlier to get more gold faster. When should I jungle as luna? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 04:29 PM PDT Just had this game (around 4k avg). I was the Oracle. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3951006305 Very frustrated to do really well early and lose the game (I think I started 8-0 as safelane support). Is there anything I can take away from this to improve or do I just chalk it up to "we didn't capitalize on our early game enough vs a lategame lineup". [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 03:54 AM PDT I recently played against an offlane core ogre magi and tbh he destroyed us. He went power treads into kaya into sny. In the early game with his kaya he dealt so much magic dmg and then ran at you with bloodlust and agi treads. If he got a lucky tripple cast on his stun on me (skywrath) I was 50% hp and slowed so he beat me to death. Was it just cause he was overleveled or is this a real thing? When he had sny his rightclicks also hurt for a lot. I cant find the dotabuff though [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 03:46 PM PDT Why do teammates and opponents call each other "shit" and "bad" when their mmr is almost identical? I dont understand this type of trash talking. What is the point of this? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 12:57 AM PDT I'd like some input on my items / general tips and tricks on Puck and specifically Puck offlane. Do you guys think he still has a spot in the offlane? I feel like his high mobility and sick auto attack damage let him do work, and he can quite easily pressure enemy supports or the carry when supports leave the lane. And in a duo lane Puck provides pretty nice and consistent DPS with his auto attacks and a long range mobility skill for securing kills / escaping / disrupting pulls. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3948958779 Here's a game of mine where I played pretty bad (including fights and farming) but comments on the item / skill build are welcome anyway. | I feel completely lost, help me out Posted: 13 Jun 2018 08:32 AM PDT After 480 hours I finally calibrated, got Herald V. I don't know what I'm even doing wrong, I think I got the basics, even then I'm not sure. I try to flex, picking to counter the other heroes or play support, most of the time. I think I do alright, whenever I support I buy wards all the time, I often die while placing them though, then proceed to get flamed because no wards. When I play a carry I think it goes fine? I just don't do it often. Anyway I think the point is that I'd like to be pointed at what are the basics of the game. Like how to properly lane or position myself, it would help me a lot. | How do you beat a Treant mid as a melee hero? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 02:13 AM PDT May seem silly but Treant is actually very annoying to lane against mid as a melee hero. He has extremely high base damage so he can deny every creep at level 1 and hit you whenever you walk up to cs so he will have a level advantage. I was playing Meepo mid against Treant. I was forced to jungle the second I hit 3 (he was level 4) because he would do so much damage to me especially with leech seed to the point where I couldn't lane mid against him anymore. What do you do against that aside from picking Brood and shitting on him mid? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 05:01 AM PDT I'm Crusader 4 (Archon 2 Last season) mid/support player and I have like 50ish games on storm but I always have trouble with him like I can't have a Relaxing EZ stomp game with him like I have with invoker. Here's the match. Can someone point out my mistakes. [link] [comments] |
| Can 5k+ players help me with explaining this meta? Posted: 13 Jun 2018 12:48 AM PDT
So far I am hearing that supports like CM,Rubik,Lion will have less to no impact being in a dual safe lane. Axe&Doom are lot stronger in dual laning. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 09:30 AM PDT Would a crimson guard be good on visage against enemies with a lot of physical dps? I'm only 2k so I don't really know if i should get it. Is crimson guard basically the physical damage equivalent of pipe? Thanks! [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 13 Jun 2018 05:18 AM PDT Under my seasonal badge I can see a percentage. I presume it is my progress to the next tier of the badge. However, I had a winning streak of 4 or so and the percentage was at 60%. I then lost 1 and won 2, ending up on a higher MMR, but the percentage now is 44%. How does this work? How can I progress to the next badge tier? [link] [comments] |
