The '10 Mission Alerts Limit' should be permanent

Posted: 18 Jun 2018 07:39 PM PDT

For those who don't know, during the Blockbuster event, EPIC increased the mission alert mission limit per day from 3 to 10.

I believe this change should be permanent. I believe this makes the game much more enjoyable and frankly is required now that we need to farm perk materials from these missions.

40+ people can't play Fortnite anymore, some for months

Posted: 17 Jun 2018 09:41 PM PDT

Hey everyone!

I hated seeing these types of posts, and was afraid of being in it. Alas, 4.4 update has forced me to make one.

There are over 40+ people who cannot play the game due to Infinite loading bug. We literally cannot play any missions at all. Some players have been facing this issue since patch 3.6.

This issue has affected PC, Mac, PS4, and XBOX. Steps I have tried to solve it: 1 - Reinstall Fortnite (Windows) 2 - Reinstall Windows then Install Fortnite 3 - Install fortnite on Mac 4 - Change DNS settings - Google, Cloudflare

Some of us get "Failed to lock profile" after long loading. Some on the other hand get stuck on loading. When I try on Mac, I waited 60 minutes to load before giving up, whereas on Windows, a private pl3 atlas mission loaded after 35minutes.

Using a different ISP leads to loading time of <1minute. We all have have logs, ready for Epic to see, but unfortunately, Epic hasnt responded since 39 days, not even asking for logs or if they are working on it.

Mailing support leads to this email after a month:

Hello XX,

Thanks for contacting Epic Games Player Support. We currently are not aware of any issues that would result in what you have described. To best track this issue, we recommend submitting a bug report from the in-game menu.

To do so, use the following steps. xxx

Can we revisit some old design decisions that seem to have been overlooked during new design decisions?

Posted: 18 Jun 2018 11:18 AM PDT

I've noticed a bit of a recurring theme where the game has a previously existing system that seems to be designed with a certain kind of balance in mind by whoever made it at the time. And then at a later time, a new system will be added that requires some change to the old system, but whoever is working on the new system appears to be different and acts tone-deaf towards the logic that went behind the old system, and loses the inherent balance and good design that went into that system.

Some examples:

  • Energy cell weapons with innate element. The original tradeoff here is clear: the weapons use a more expensive kind of ammo. In return, they get a "free" element in addition to a full set of existing perks. But now the recombobulator comes in. These weapons are now changed to have a fixed element. This decision misses the entire point of what the element was all about. The "free" element was supposed to be a pro of the weapon. A fixed element is a con to its flexibility. So now they cost a more expensive ammo, in return for having a further disadvantage in perks. It really seems like this decision was done by a different person that didn't really look too deeply into what the previous person was thinking. If your new system requires the gun to have an elemental perk slot, then why not just let the gun have 2 elements, one fixed, one reperkable? The code clearly works with that, since there were guns that did this previously, and that benefit is the payoff for using more expensive energy ammo.

  • Event weapons designed to have a unique perk, but after being updated into the recombobulator system just have commonly available perks and are locked into them. These event weapons originally did something that normal weapons couldn't, and that was what made them unique. Frostbite, Snowball, etc are some examples. Now, they're just an already existing weapon locked into a specific perk...

  • Phase scout's literal whole selling point as a mythic was to have infinite sprint. The rest of her perk-set is really lackluster, all in exchange to have this one effect (and even with it, she was already considered low-tier). Then infinite sprint is added to everybody. You'd expect the perk to be replaced with something else equally significant and class-defining, but instead this keystone perk is just replaced with any old random generic phase shift perk. Again, this seems to be another design choice made without really deeply understanding the keystone importance of the perk that was being replaced.

There may be a few more that escape me at the moment; I'm sure others can chime in.

Get your own weapons!!

Posted: 18 Jun 2018 11:07 AM PDT

I just wanted to set this right here for a min.

As a player that started week one of the game I am so sick of hearing people complain about being scammed, or trading for weapons. GET YOUR OWN CRAP and you wont be scammed. You can get every single weapon in the game without spending 1 cent besides the founders rewards.

Epic fixed all this with the upgrading of schematics!

As I am sure some of you don't know this but!!!! That Grey AR that you hate so much when you upgrade it to Legendary it is a Siegebreaker!!!

If you want a specific weapon find that weapons lesser version... (Hint Its in the collections book) and make it!!

Founder Skin(s) - The Huskslayer

Posted: 18 Jun 2018 05:28 PM PDT

I know I'll probably be downvoted to hell for bringing up BR in this sub, but I had an idea for our long overdue founder skins that I have to share!

What if we were given grizzled huskslayer skins, showcasing the war waged to Save the World? A veteran Jonesy and Ramirez (for example) maybe wearing some husk skins as souvenirs? What if the higher your PL, the more decked out the skin is? They have the system in place with Carbide and Omega.

I'd love this coupled with the idea recently of including the Canny and Twine pickaxes.

Can we get builder Pro from BR in stw

Posted: 18 Jun 2018 08:19 PM PDT

Kind of annoying how I'm used to builder Pro now but I went onto save the world today for the first time in a while and I just felt like I was a newb again lol. I have it on combat Pro but obviously going from one control scheme to another is frustrating as it is still the same game lol. Anyone else agree or is this stupid? I know rapid building isn't as important as in BR but it'd be nice to be able to use the builder Pro control scheme that I've learnt on both instead of having to relearn combat Pro just for save the world.

[Suggestion] New Mission Type: Endure the Storm

Posted: 18 Jun 2018 04:05 AM PDT

Description: Something went wrong while "Teleporting" (How do we even get to the mission zones anyway?) to your mission. You and your teammates must Endure the Storm for about 15 minutes until Ray can get you back home. The only "Objective" to defend is your life. Spread out or bunker down together as Husks swarm the map...with no objective for them to assault...they are coming after you!

In Endure the Storm, you must simply survive the entire length of the mission by any means possible...Training the enemies around the map, building a base on the edge of the zone or every man for themselves as you shoot your way through the never-ending horde of Husks!

There are NO respawns in Endure the Storm. If you get knocked down, only a teammate can pick you back up. If everyone gets knocked down....its Game Over.

Optional Content: If you are up for the challenge, you and your team can opt-in to re-purpose some of Ray's super-cool tech.

Little did we know...there is a force field surrounding the zones we play to keep Toxic Storm Gas away from our beloved Heroes. Surprisingly this is the same type of technology found in Re-Perk and Perk-Up!

If all/majority players agree, you can decide to repurpose and claim some of the Re-Perk and Perk-Up!

But at what cost? Well... you guessed it. That force field that has been protecting us from that Toxic Storm Gas...It'll shrink throughout the duration of the mission... If you get caught outside the force field it won't be long until you are a goner!

Well, that's all folks! Thanks for reading! Happy Husk Hunting!
