Advanced Building rotation

I haven't played Besiege in a while so am just trying the Advanced Building Tools now. But I'm having trouble reproducing the same results with rotation as I see in their video or gif in the announcement.

In this gif they rotate and all block tip upward. I tried recreating this exact example but when I follow what they did 2 blocks tipped upward while their opposite block tipped downward.

If I just do 2 opposite each other one will tip up the other down.

If I do 2 at right angles to each other they will both go up though.

Am I doing something wrong? I can't find any tutorials or anything about the Advanced Building Tools. I also wondered what the other 2 options to check or uncheck under rotate and move are. I get that the chain link controls whether the objects maintain their current orientation to each other or not.
