Dota 2 Update - MAIN CLIENT - June 29, 2018

A new patch has been dispatched for the main client. More info will be edited in as I analyze the patch.

Analysis Status: Done

Official Changelog

Underhollow:

  • Added a ban phase. Each team can nominate one hero that is guaranteed to be banned.
  • Heroes now incrementally load during the pick phase. This should help reduce cases in which low-spec machines timeout and disconnect while loading.

Battle Pass

Misc

  • Re-enabled in-game predictions for the upcoming TI8 games. | This was disabled during the Qualifiers.

UI Updates

Battle Pass

  • Updated the small dots on the Reward Tabs to show multiple rewards to support 16 items instead of 15.

Other

  • Lowered the width of the box where the ability build comment in the Guide Viewer from 800px to 660px

Material Updates

  • Added support for a default "favorite team" spray. | Unreleased: Probably going to have sprays for your favorite team when the Player Cards are released.
  • Minor updates and optimizations to stone and sand path texture files.

String Updates

Localization

  • Tons of localization updates across various languages for the regular game and Underhollow.

Custom Games

  • Added support for custom games with two teams and multi teams to display Pick and Ban phase instructions for that mode. | Add ""EnablePickRules" and set to 1 in the addoninfo.txt"

Audio Updates

  • Added sounscape files for Summer Terrain. | Unreleased: Probably going to update the Spring Terrain in Dota Plus to Summer Terrain soon.

Misc

  • A large number of engine related updates seem to also be done in this patch on the backend.

Hi, I enjoy playing competitive dota even though I suck, and because I suck I have to deal with bad admins, Most admins of leagues are very good at responding and can usually work out a problem within the hour, (AD2L Admin Seth, All the echo league admins, WPH heroes admin InsertFail, shit even rd2l admins) but let me tell you about the monstrosity that is the JDL staff.

Now for those outta the loop, JDL when google searched comes up with the Jewish Defense League, I have no beef with the Jewish Defense League, what I do have an issue with is the Join Dota League Admins.

Now the current Issue

This season of JDL they decided to launch a new website, hey thats pretty cool right, no wrong. its awful. This new website forces you to use there automated system to select a time, whatever thats fine it works without any issues, but what does have issues is there "Select Lineup" Feature, for those of you who don't know what it looks like here's a screenshot

Looks pretty cool right, you have to select your players and you even get to use 2 standins, but let me show you the functionality of this tool compared to the players on my team

https://i.imgur.com/IDCQwMl.png - It only shows 3 people for my team, and last I checked dota 2 is a 5v5 game so I must have more than 3 people on my team right???????!?!?!?!!?!?!?!!

So usually that isn't a big deal, just a little technical bug on there website, everyone has those, but what is the issue is the fact that quite litterally no admin will help you with an issue that STOPS you from playing in there league, about 2 hours before I open a ticket saying I can't get there website to work and need help, 1 hour passes and nobody responds to my ticket so I go to there discord. I write in there community channel this

https://i.imgur.com/MQUrlJB.png - Out of the 12 admins I messaged, one responded and at the intro of our conversation he lets me know that I'm causing him a hassle for trying to get help from an issue with his league.

This conversation continues with him basically doing nothing but resetting this match to a 0-0 and letting us reschedule, pretty neat right? but they forgot to add the button back that lets chose when to reschedule and I can only play during the weekends, which is usually not an issue

Now you make think this is all the hate I have on them, but lets remember there usual way of dealing with issues, the ticket. The tickets are FAR worse lets take a look at the tickets ive opened about this 1 week issue

https://i.imgur.com/qIZRqgM.png - Initial Ticket that I had to go to discord for it not being answered, notice the difference in time it took them to answer a ticket on the default play day that they have set for Thursday night. It took them 10 hours to tell me that they have a bug with there website, reminder, that this issue needed to be solved by that night in order for us to play our series, going on to his second paragraph, this issue still hasn't been fixed as it has now been over a week and I cannot select him or anybody else

https://i.imgur.com/QhFnPhe.png - This ticket answered by Sebek who tells me that he opened the scheduling tool (Which he did but only set for 3 dates to be rescheduled) and that I need to add players to my team, which a previous admin already noticed we had all the players on my roster, he then states that he is going to hand the ticket over to a web developer for him to handle the issue, However I was never contacted again for this ticket by any web developer and guess what bugs still exist

https://i.imgur.com/ptrHJ56.png - lets take a look at the far worse ticket of them all, First lets look at the dates, I sent this ticket in on the 26th and it took them 2 days to answer my ticket, (also answered by Sebek) " This is not the Playday 1 and you should be aware who is in your team. Players from your team should know they have to confirm the participation in league " so despite me asking multiple times about why players are not showing up to him directly, he just now tells me I have to have my players confirm participation in the league, I've asked my friends to look at doing this and none of them have been able to figure it out. " If you can't play today I'm closing match in favor of your opponent. " My opponents also did the scummy thing of dodging us to the website design fault despite me asking if they wanted to play the series as i attempt to work out the issues with the admins as you can see from my response a little down

So for the conclusion of this, all that needed to be said at my 1st ticket 1 day before we played is that " Your players need to confirm participation in the league" however we were never able to get this knowledge as the current staff doesn't even know how to use there website. Along with replying a day later on almost all cases these admins have been unable to help me with there website until they have declared that I will have to forfeit my series.

Should pros be immune to 6 month bans? [CCnC ruining my games]

EvidenceMatch link . I don't believe any pro has gotten a matchmaking ban including Chappie since it's introduction. We were ahead in a game and CCnC starts feeding and destroying his items because Spectre also had urn [for what it's worth the spectre did say he was buying urn before either player had it] when CCnc had spirit vessel. I think maybe pros shouldn't get a full 6 month ban because they are necessary for the growth of our game but maybe a month ban or something lighter? This is not even the first or second or third time I see him do this. I wasn't going to make this post since I'm afraid it'll just get him to throw more but I didn't think it was right to standby and allow terrorism to win so to speak.

Edit: I think CCnC is good and should not be 6 month banned (unless he continues to do this more regularly) but I am wondering if the system is fully automated and obviously this isn't every game but it's happened in my games on several occasions, at what point does someone deserve punishment, I don't know.
