Season start question - What is the main benefit of killing a boss at level 1 on Master difficulty? Posted: 09 Jun 2018 02:57 PM PDT At season start, many people recommend setting the difficulty to Master and using the follower weapon to kill a bounty boss (usually Kulle or Maghda) at level 1 and get a diabolic hoard. What is the main benefit of killing the boss and getting the diabolic hoard at Master difficulty instead of Hard? Is it 1. more XP? 2. more gold? 3. better equipment drops? 4. something else? Can someone help interpret AS breakpoints for Corpse Lance? How do you interpret this table? What is "APS," is that the attacks per second that shows up on the character sheet? How do you figure how much attack speed % to roll for a specific APS? How do increased attack speed % and APS interact? What does FPA refer to? Any help is much appreciated. I haven't seen any clear cut recommendations like "go for 14% increased attack speed on all gear, or X or Y%". Also I suppose the weapon affects the needed increased attack speed %? Newbie questions about Diablo 2. Posted: 09 Jun 2018 10:36 AM PDT Hello /r/Diablo. I have recently beat Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction on Normal difficulty for the first time using an Amazon. I specifically used the "Javazon" build that is on the Diablo Wiki. I am currently finishing up Act 1 on Nightmare difficulty and my character is at about LV40. Here are my questions: What do I do with all the Runes and Gems I have gotten? Close to 80 percent of my inventory and my stash are filled with these Runes and Gems that I am afraid of selling for fear that one of them might be some ultra-rare item that only has a 0.1% drop rate. For much of the game since Act 2, I have always had a Mercenary NPC companion with me. Is this considered cheating or bad play? I originally used the companion to help me fight Duriel, as I was finding myself constantly dying to the boss from being frozen and then slashed to death. The NPC helped me distract the boss so that I could attack it from behind while it took the boss's attention. Will having an Mercenary NPC companion around be a bad habit that will hurt my ability to play the game on Hell difficulty? What are some things I can (and need to) make with the Horadric Cube? Ever since Act 2's requirement of me making a Horadric Staff, I have never once used it. But apparently it is essential for any player. But I don't know what I'm supposed to make with it. Are there any ways to set up hotkeys for the Scroll of Town Portal? Whenever I am in a bind, I want to be able to use this scroll at a moment's notice. I can obviously do so while I have my inventory open, but it means half of my screen is covered with the inventory. Are there any alternative methods to immediately open a scroll? Finally, I am at patch 1.14. I want to play the game in a higher resolution and widescreen support. But according to Diablo 2's PC Gaming Wiki entry, I need to be at patch 1.12 in order to install mods that allow for these things. Is there any way around this? Thanks in advance. I'm really enjoying this game. I really hope they remaster the game one day, because it would be nice to have the game play at 60fps or higher instead of 25fps. Feeling lost and would like some guidance. Posted: 09 Jun 2018 01:24 PM PDT I used to play this game when it first came out and leveled to max but then pretty much moved on. I'm incredibly interested in diving deep into this game again due to another rl friend wanting to start playing. I checked the sidebar but I'm looking for more videos and maybe just explanations on the goals of the game now (besides leveling ). Maybe some good YouTube channels etc. I don't want to just level with no goal. I know I should be planning far ahead with builds and gear but I have no idea where to start.
