Posted: 10 May 2018 07:48 AM PDT For how rare it is I thought Altaria would be way stronger at least 2.5k CP or something, but even Machoke is stronger and it costs only 25 candies to evolve a Machop AND you see him almost every day (even outside the event). Is it only because Altaria is a Dragon? [link] [comments] |
[Complaint] WHERE are the Hitmonlee's, Hitmonchan's, Hitmontop's and Tyrogue's in this event? Posted: 10 May 2018 01:09 PM PDT While I'm very appreciative of being able to stock up on Machop candy and make a few more Machamps for Raids, this event has been a total bust for HALF of the mons I was hoping to see. I play as I walk to work every weekday, usually 15 minutes each way to the train. During my lunch I also walk for an hour around City Hall in San Francisco to Raid where I can and also hunt. NOT ONE of the above four have I encountered. Now I don't know if Hitmonlee or Hitmontop are excluded as they are not pictured in the notification, but neither Mankey, and that one is EVERYWHERE. Granted, few of these mons are going to be Gym effective in the long run, but I would still like to have at least one "amazing" one, just 'cause! EDIT: I was not aware that all of these were Raid bosses, as I have only seen Hitmonlee in one once, and got him thankfully. Maybe I'm just not outside at the right times. [link] [comments] |

2 weeks of anything is too much (also, I hate Meditite now) Posted: 10 May 2018 04:40 PM PDT Seriously Niantic, this event is becoming irritating. Pokémon Go is about hunting dozens of species of monsters, not 4. As an special event, it's O.K., but two weeks of this is anything but special. There are many things that could've been done differently: - Shorter event. Two weeks is waaay, waaaaay too much. - More variety. Just adding the evolved forms of the 4 event 'mons as uncommon spawns would've been great. Extra stardust, etc. There is also a couple of 'mons that evolve into fighting types (Torchic, Shroomish, Poliwag). They could've been added too. - Less spawns. Right now my tracker is showing only the 4 event 'mons. That's way too much. - The available choices for a fighting event were unfortunate. Machop is awesome, and Mankey is somewhat loved thanks to the anime, but they've been in the game for almost two years. Many players have enough of them. Hariyama is nice too. But none of them have any oomph that can sustain the enthusiasm of most players for weeks. Also, - Meditite is shit. It's an ugly humanoid with diapers. You know who uses diapers? Babies. I don't want babies in my game about catching monsters. Also, it's 100% useless in combat and as evolution fodder. I hate it, shiny or not, and I don't want to see another Meditite in my life. Please don't put shitty 'mons in the spotlight ever again. - Quests should've been adjusted to the new spawns. I swear to God, today the five pokéstops around my apartment are three "catch 3 Swablus" and two "catch 5 flyers". I can't do that. There are none. Doing most quests is a chore right now. I really do think that any event is better than no event, but seriously Niantic, you're making me miss Pidgey. Take this event as an experience and adjust the next one accordingly. Thanks a lot. Also, please forgive my poor English. [link] [comments] |
PTC is down (it's been a while) Posted: 10 May 2018 02:01 PM PDT I haven't been able to log in for the past 40 minutes. So if you are currently logged in, do not log out. I had to log out because I wasn't able to rotate the screen in the overworld. Get your servers fixed, Niantic! [link] [comments] |
It's About Time to Fix Raids, Niantic Posted: 10 May 2018 07:19 PM PDT 1) Raids NEED extended and universal hours. The current hours are chaotic and nonsensical. For those of you who don't know, Niantic has been currently extending raid times but, in typical Niantic fashion, they're doing everything they possibly could wrong! Some places have them extended until 9:30. Others have them extended until 8:30. The Americas don't have them extended at all! This is nothing short of TERRIBLE design and fixing this issue is SO simple that it's so embarrassing they can't get it right! Raids should go from 6 AM to 10 PM, with the first eggs of the day HATCHING (not spawning) at 6 AM and the last eggs hatching at 10 PM. While I am in completely favor of simply having raids go 24/7, I get Niantic wants some sort of curfew on it for the kiddos (even though more adults play PoGO, but I digress. In all honesty, it easily could be Nintendo forcing a curfew as well). These hours allow the best of both worlds. Players who like to raid before work and school have raids starting at 6 AM to appease them while players who prefer to do so in the evening have eggs hatching until 10 PM to please their needs. 2) Tell me if this has happened to you before: you're playing Pokemon GO and a popup comes up on top of your screen: "A raid is about to begin near you". You scan the world looking for the raid only to see that you have 50 minutes before the egg even hatches. "About to begin", huh? The way things are now, raid eggs last for way too long (an hour) while raids don't last for long enough (45 minutes). Here's how it SHOULD be. Raid eggs should last for thirty minutes. That gives players time to be notified a raid is going to be happening and to get to the raid when it hatches. However, it's not extremely long like it is currently. Raids should last for an hour, essentially giving more people time to come and complete the raid after it hatches. Additionally, the fact that the overall process of a raid is shortened from 1:45 to 1:30 means more raids can potentially happen within a given day. 3) This one has been beaten into the ground but it needs to be said because hopefully, if enough people say it, we'll be able to break through Niantic's thick skull. There needs to be an option to start the raid at any point (regardless if the timer is done or not) while in a private raid group. It's so annoying when the process of waiting for a raid takes significantly longer than actually doing the raid (especially in the case of Level 1s and 2s). 4) The rewards system is beyond flawed. The only thing that makes or breaks how many balls you get is simply which team you are on which is a load of crap. A level 40 instinct player could do a raid with 7 level 28 mystic players. Despite the fact that the level 40 instinct player is significantly stronger in terms of Pokemon, likely did the most amount of damage out of anybody in the raid, and likely carried the team to an extent if we're talking about a level 4 or 5 raid, the instinct player gets stuck with 7-9 balls to catch the boss at best while the mystic players get 10-12 simply because a majority of the people there were mystic. This should NOT be the case in the slightest. The team you are on should NOT play this big of a role in how many balls you get to catch the raid boss. I'm fine with the team that owns the gym getting 2 extra balls to use because that's not that drastic. But everything else should be done away with. Instead, you should be able to get more balls by meeting certain qualifications. For example, the player who did the greatest amount of Super Effective charge moves would get an extra Premiere Ball for that or the player who had the Pokemon that survived the longest gets an extra ball for that. Stuff like that. That way, the amount of balls you get depends on your skill and strength as a player rather than simply what team you're on. And so ends my ideas to fix raids. [link] [comments] |
Niantic to reinstate spoofers' locked accounts after 90 days. Posted: 10 May 2018 07:08 AM PDT It's happening, Niantic is giving spoofers their locked accounts back. It is being confirmed from emails to many of the users with locked accounts. In my opinion, it is totally unacceptable that Niantic has clearly identified spoofers, and will continue to let them participate in gyms and raids with their Pokemon obtained through cheating. How many gym coins have spoofers stolen from you since the game began? How much have they devalued your rare Pokemon that you worked hard to obtain? How do we let Niantic know that this is unacceptable? I will never buy a coin again if they give the accounts back. I recommend you commit to doing the same. [link] [comments] |
[Idea] New Event: Heart Gold and Soul Silver Weeks – Mental and Physical Health Promotion Event Posted: 10 May 2018 01:54 PM PDT Pokémon GO is a truly unique game with an equally unique ability to help people. Recent stories on this subreddit have shown that Pokémon GO has had a positive effect in many people's lives, from social anxiety and mental health perspectives to physical health. I think it would make for a neat event if these positive aspects of the game were highlighted for an ingame event. I propose a new event called the Heart Gold and Soul Silver Weeks. This event would be split into two halves between the Heart Gold and Soul Silver focuses. Each half of the event would be 1-2 weeks long and would focus on different aspects of the game. Heart Gold Weeks would focus on physical health. As such activities promoting walking (hatching eggs, walking with buddies, etc.) would be boosted. Players could get a free single use incubator every day from spinning a PokeStop, and this would encourage people to walk more every day. Ho-Oh would make a return as a legendary raid boss for the duration of the Heart Gold weeks. Soul Silver Weeks would focus on mental health. As such activities that promote player interaction (mostly raids, and higher level raids especially) would be boosted. Raid rewards would be boosted the more players participate in a raid. This would encourage people to coordinate and interact with others more. Lugia would make a return as a legendary raid boss for the duration of the Soul Silver weeks. Each half of the event would also have a unique item that could be obtained depending on which half of the event is currently ongoing. Silver Scales and Gold Feathers would be consumable items that are entirely unique to Pokémon GO. These items would be entirely cosmetic and could be applied to any Pokémon to recolor them silver or gold according to the item. These items don't exist in any other Pokémon game and would set Pokémon GO apart from any other main series game. These items could be obtained by participating in the appropriate events according to which half of the event is ongoing. Additionally, there could be short, informative quizzes that promote awareness going on throughout the event, which could also award the Silver and Gold reskin items. Feedback is appreciated; let me know your thoughts in the comments! [link] [comments] |
POGO on Cruises and in the Bahamas Posted: 10 May 2018 06:18 PM PDT In the summer head going on a Disney Cruise to Nassau during Go Fest and I was wondering. Do Pokemon spawn while on ship? Does Nassau have good spawns? And do Pokemon spawn at Disney's Castaway Cay? Thank you. [link] [comments] |
[Idea] Nests should also include the evolutions Posted: 10 May 2018 07:12 AM PDT If a Pokemon is capable of nesting and its evolutions are found in the wild, the evolutions should also be appearing there. It'd make nests that much more exciting. It should be easy to implement too. [link] [comments] |
[Question] Which Pokemon are you yet to catch that you desire the most? Posted: 10 May 2018 03:00 PM PDT Absol is pretty high on my list. I think he's the most badass looking dude. Patiently waiting for that 4* raid to spawn when people are around to get him with me. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 May 2018 03:39 PM PDT I've noticed something which I've been observing for quite a long time now with regards to Pokéball shakes in Pokemon Go. If the first shake is small (i.e. the smallest wobble animation possible), the mon seems to break out - without another shake - with what seems to be 100% certainty. Can anyone confirm/refute this? I've wanted to refute it because it seemed like blind superstition at first, but the number of times I have observed this happen without fail is ridiculous. If you have never paid any attention to this I'd suggest trying to observe this closely in the next legendary raids you do. [link] [comments] |
Let other teams join your raids. Posted: 10 May 2018 08:58 AM PDT I tried to join a raid with two members of another team. They promptly created a private group and booted me out. I know it may seem silly, but for someone who is a solo player the prospect of winning a level three raid had me excited. That excitement was quickly diminished. Don't be a prick just because someone isn't in part of your team. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 May 2018 06:17 AM PDT Why not change ditto candies to rare candies, it would definitely make finding a ditto a whole lot more rewarding, and I can't imagine too many people invest much of any candy into them. Also, how about a tab where we can view all the candy we've collected. [link] [comments] |
Unown: does it even exist outside of the events? Posted: 10 May 2018 12:47 AM PDT I have never seen a wild Unown and I was wondering if they really spawn outside the exclusive events. Have any of you guys found a wild unown? [link] [comments] |
A mobile-friendly Pokemon Go matchup reference Posted: 10 May 2018 01:18 AM PDT I looked around for a chart like this--in portrait mode, with self-describing cells, and using PoGo matchups--and I never found find any. So I made this. Hope it's useful! Edit: It's been pointed out to me that resistances changed in Gen 6, and my source info was out of date. I've put up a new version to remove steel resistances to ghost and dark! https://imgur.com/ktocx2h [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 May 2018 10:15 PM PDT I am currently stumble upon new a player in the neighborhood, he got blissey in the gym and I defeated it 4 times now but everytime I rebattling it its always full HP and the fruit count is only 15. [link] [comments] |
Pokémon Centres with daily limits. Posted: 10 May 2018 09:23 AM PDT In the games, you can heal 6 Pokémon at a time at a Pokémon centre. So, why not have a daily limit: 1 visit, maximum 6 Pokémon per day. I've had 40+ fainted Pokémon for the last 3 weeks, and revives are scarce (even when I do Legendary raids, I don't get revives). Thoughts? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 10 May 2018 07:25 AM PDT So if you catch a ditto when normal is being boosted, will the ditto be boosted? [link] [comments] |

Trying to get Go Fest Tickets :) Advice? Posted: 10 May 2018 06:46 PM PDT If you can answer any or all of these questions it would be very appreciated :) Will I have to connect a trainer name to the ticket at purchase time? Any major cards not accepted? Any idea what hotels will be connected to the event? Absolutely anything else you can think of that might help? Thanks :) [link] [comments] |
[Question] How do I handle spoofers? Posted: 10 May 2018 05:34 AM PDT About a year ago, there has been a player spoofing in my small town everyday and taking over every gym. The annoying part was, that he also took over the forest, which took me 2 hours everyday. I used the report form Niantic provides on their website, but after 3 months he was still playing. Now I face a similar problem, where I know for sure that a player is spoofing, I even talked to him today where he was playing with his friend driving from gym to gym and he pretty much admitted to spoofing. My question now is if I should spend my time writing to Niantic and report him every now and then, or if there's a better way of stopping him since nothing I did worked for the first spoofer. Thanks for your help in advance :) [link] [comments] |
Items that you start with in the beginning Posted: 10 May 2018 02:43 PM PDT I been looking for a list of items that you start with from the beginning of the game, does someone have a link to it or a list? Please and thank you [link] [comments] |
