When Brigette gives armor to sombra while she is hacking it breaks the hack and puts it on CD like she took dmg

Posted: 10 May 2018 03:27 PM PDT

Happened to me last night, I saved the highlight and re watched it a few times but had to hurry off and didnt get a chance to upload it.

Its pretty crap because there is already so much fall off dmg that breaks her hack that when she gets in deep hacking and brig throws her an armor it ruins everything...

If Blizzard changes Stage 4 of the Overwatch League to include the latest live changes, I will buy every Hanzo OWL skin.

Posted: 10 May 2018 10:51 AM PDT

The Overwatch League is currently between Stage 3 and 4 of it's inaugural season. Every stage so far has used the latest live patch at the time of the first games.

Apparently the upcoming Stage 4 is not going to include the Hanzo rework, and other vital changes which will make the games much more watchable. In fact the 5 week stage is due to start with a patch that was only ever live for 2 days!

As many people have pointed out, this seems very silly and have been claiming they will be less interested to watch an eSport so far away from what they can play at home.

I happen to agree and so if Blizzard does realise what a mistake this is and update the Stage 4 patch before it begins on Wednesday May 16th, I shall buy every Hanzo Overwatch League skin for every team, in honor of his rework.

Rialto is officially unplayable, how am I supposed to know what time it is now?

The endgame vote cards are often completely ignored. How about Bliz gives players 1 purple point for casting a vote?

Posted: 10 May 2018 03:13 AM PDT

So I'd like to see more people vote for the cards at the end of the game, and realistically I don't see that happen anytime soon unless Blizzard starts handing out freebies. I think giving players 1 purple point (the ones used to buy golden weapons, what are those points called anyway?) for every time they vote could be a nice start. What do you think?

Blizzard, please. Automatically switch to the hero i'm using in the control options to tweak my sensitivity.

Posted: 10 May 2018 05:37 AM PDT

I hate using the dropdown menu every time im trying new sensitivities, it gets annoying and takes time. When im in the middle of the tweaking usually im almost kicked for inactivity.

Edit: It would be great if in the dropdown menu, was 1_ all heroes 2_<your actual hero> and then the rest of the heroes.

To clarify this: This is not intended to do on an actual match, its an annoyance while doing it in a practice range or against bots on a custom match.

High level target prioritization

Posted: 10 May 2018 06:50 AM PDT

What happened to POTG 2.0 that was talked about in 2016?

Posted: 10 May 2018 01:10 PM PDT

"There's a plan to do what we're calling Play of the Game 2.0," he said. "It's been on the books for a little while. It's just a matter of prioritizing everything. We have a lot of really cool ideas. We want to do a lot with the camera work. We have ideas for cooperative Play of the Games. Because what we have right now, is Zarya could ult, and then Genji gets the credit. And that's like, 'Come on!'"

"So we want to highlight the combo play itself, to show both," he added. "There's some tricky things there, like how do we handle Play of the Game intros, and how do we decide who gets credit."

There were plans to make it a cooperative POTG that highlighted 2 heroes. That sounded pretty cool because it means that heroes who doesn't get POTG often get more chances of being the spot light as well. Heroes like Mei, Zarya and Ana (especially Ana).

I know that the developers are busy with hero balancing (which includes reworks), new heroes, new maps, events and OWL, but it would be nice to get an update about this.

Source of the quote:

https://kotaku.com/overwatchs-play-of-the-game-feature-is-gonna-get-an-ove-1788619226

Edit:

Showing 2 highlights in a split POTG screen would be difficult.

  • The POTG highlight takes place on the map that just was played on making it impossible to render 2 highlight animations in real time on the same spot. They would have to use 2 different spots on the maps to a split screen POTG.
  • Interrupting a highlight video in half to show the second highlight would be difficult as well because some highlights are like a small movie where you only see the hero in the last moment. (Roadhog's stomping highlight.)
  • And how would this work with highlights like Sombra's hack?
  • They could only show 1 highlight with a mention of the supporting player, but then what's the point of a combo POTG?

I can see now why they might have trouble implementing it.

As a breast cancer patient and an Overwatch player, thank you Blizzard for choosing BCRF.

Posted: 09 May 2018 07:25 PM PDT

I'm so incredibly happy that Blizzard chose to donate the proceeds of the new Mercy skin to BCRF.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a little under a year ago at 27 years old. I have a slightly rarer form of the disease, referred to as HER2 positive. It's much more aggressive and once had much lower survival rates. Years ago, BCRF funded early clinical trials of a medication called Herceptin which has been an absolute game changer for those diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer. Survival and recurrence rates now practically match HER2- breast cancers. I was stage 2a, which means my 5 year survival rate is almost 100% - all thanks to Herceptin.

I've finished surgery and chemo, and I have a few months left of Herceptin and a few more years of other medications. It sucks, but I'm going to survive thanks to Herceptin and BCRF funding those early trials.

If you weren't sure about buying the skin because you didn't know the charity - they're awesome.

For fun, my boyfriend and I at my last chemo on December 28th, and me today!.

Edit: super extra fun pic of me prior to cancer with my fav Pharah

Super edit: This is the story of Herceptin. It's actually a very compelling read of how life saving medications become available.

Could we get the next charity to be about mental health?

Posted: 10 May 2018 05:30 AM PDT

I love this idea that you can buy a skin and the money will get donated to charity. Is there a way the community can influence the next charity event?

I personally would love it to be about mental health research, there are so many people suffering in silence not daring to speak up about it as its almost taboo.

Imagine going through life alone with mental issues so awful that you end up commiting suicide. Only to have your relatives left in shock not knowing what happened. I find that completely heartbreaking and I don't wish that on anyone.

Bringing a big community like Overwatch together to help a charity is really awesome.

Do not purposefully run in front of an Ana for healing

Posted: 10 May 2018 06:52 AM PDT

The setting is Gibraltar. The players are an Ana, an Orisa, and a Pharah. The enemy team is closing in and the last thing that is stopping the cart from hitting the second checkpoint is our Orisa, whose health is at about half. She's not getting focused hard yet because the enemy reinforcements haven't made it back from spawn, but she does have a D Va and Soldier fucking her up.

Ana has a safe LOS with the Orisa, so she's at least keeping the Orisa alive hopefully long enough for the friendly reinforcements to spawn. Suddenly, Orisa stops getting healed. Ana's scope is jammed. Pharah decides that maybe our Ana is having some tunnel vision. Or maybe she's just having trouble hitting her shots. Whatever. Just to make it easy for our Ana to heal the most important member of the team, the Pharah steps in front of the scope and takes three bullets that were intended for Orisa.

Orisa dies. Ana dies because she has no path of retreat. Pharah dies because there are no healers. The team gets stagger-spawned, since the reinforcements had already spawned at the second point spawn.

Don't fucking do this.

Charity Twitch Streams Update: $50,366.59 Raised in just 2 days!

Posted: 10 May 2018 09:08 AM PDT

Updates on current BCRF Charity Twitch Streams

The gaming community has already hit past the $50,000 mark in just 2 days for Breast Cancer research, and there's still 11 or so days left to raise funds for breast cancer research! I had the pleasure of watching Cuupcaake's stream yesterday, and she admitted she only thought she was going to raise $1000 in her entire stream, but raised over $3000 in the first hour alone. She went above and beyond and stayed longer past her allotted time so that more people could unlock sprays and donate more, so kudos to her!

Current Streamer: Flowervin She's a full-time YouTuber, streamer, and mother. She is currently the manager of the Runaways, an Overwatch team from South Korea. While her stream is in Korean and is mainly for Korean audiences (I speak no Korean so I have no idea what's happening in chat or in the stream honestly but Flowervin seems to be a very sweet person from what I can see), you can still watch for the Mercy sprays! Tune in to her stream right now at: https://twitch.tv/flowervin
Next Streamer: Riku is a professional League of Legends commentator and voice artist, and loves to entertain people on the most fun games on the market. Tune in to her stream tomorrow from 6:00am - 12:00pm PDT at https://twitch.tv/RikuRikuRiku

Current Running Total of Twitch Charity Stream Donations

Twitch Streamer Dollar Donations Bits (1 Bit = $0.01) Total Amount Running Total
QueenE $11,495.68 1115602 ($11,156.02) $22,651.70 $22,651.70
Cuppcaake $18,399.77 931512 ($9,315.12) $27,714.89 $50,366.59

I will update later for Flowervin's contributions, once the final total has been made. So far, as of 11:00A.M. Central Time, she's raised at least 2,261,100 won (or roughly $2,125.80 USD). I am not entirely sure how bits work for Korean Twitch so will wait until it's been done. Remember that the funds raised from the Twitch charity streams will also be on top of the $250,000 minimum pledge Blizzard has promised BCRF AND all proceeds made from Mercy pink skin purchases, which data has not been released yet.

As a reminder, watching Twitch streams will unlock sprays for you based on how long you watch, with sprays unlocked at 2 hours, 4 hours, and 6 hours. While donating isn't required,100% of all donations go straight to the BCRF and are great overall. Subscriptions are nice to support the streamers but don't forget that the event is primarily to raise money! Every dollar counts! Overall guide for the sprays (copied from one of my comments in another thread):

  • First and foremost, you'll need a Twitch account, and a Battle.net account (for console players who may not already have one).
  • If you're on console, you MUST sync your console account to your Battle.net account (instructions here: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/article/Linking-your-Console-Account-to-Blizzard but really just go into your settings and link to it from there).
  • Link your Twitch account to your Battle.net account (https://www.twitch.tv/settings/connections) and then go to Battle.Net and then 'Connect'.
  • Once your accounts have been linked up, sign in to Twitch and watch the current streamer who's doing the charity stream of the day. Schedule is included in the link: https://playoverwatch.com/en-us/blog/21758132.
  • The hours you watch are cumulative - meaning you don't have to watch all 6 hours consecutively to get the spray. You can watch 1 hour today, 2 hours another day, 30 minutes another, etc. Blizzard is keeping track of it internally.
  • NOTE THAT YOU MAY NOT GET THE SPRAYS IMMEDIATELY: as the streamers have stated, Blizzard is releasing the sprays in batches. So even if you watch all 6 hours, you won't get the sprays right when you finish 6 hours. You'll eventually get them when they land into your account, so just be sure to check every few hours or so. At this time, the sprays are only enabled on Mercy so you need to look through her sprays to check if you get them. You will NOT get a "NEW" notification so you have to look through the sprays.

In addition to streaming, the charity streams will also have Pink Mercy Twitch drops enabled, and there be a few global BCRF and Pink Mercy emotes for Twitch. So feel free to spam them.

Lastly, enjoy the streamers! The streamers are not only good players but also very nice, and the Twitch chats are very positive as well. Just a few days in and they've raised a fantastic amount of money already. Donate some bits or money (every dollar does count!) if you can in the streams, or just tune in and watch them have fun! Note that you don't have to subscribe to them (the subscription costs won't go towards the BCRF donations and thus won't pop up on most streamers' screens, but will just support the streamer overall). The streamers have pointed out that the focus of the streams is geared entirely towards raising money towards BCRF!

EDIT: Updated to include what actual amount I can approximately guess that Flowervin has raised.
