Survivalist Perk Overhaul

Survivalist is widely considered one of the more weaker Perks due to it being too unspecialized to be as effective as the other Perks in the higher difficulties.

With a whole new Perk and set of skills available, Survivalist should offer traits that are somewhat unique, instead of allowing a player to be a sub-par gunslinger/commando combo or whatever.

For comparison to the original


Perk Bonuses

  • Weapon Damage - +0.6% Per Level +0.8% Per Level (Max. 20%)

  • Global Damage Resistance - +1% per level - Max. 25% Unchanged

  • Heavy Body Armor Movement Speed - 0.4% Per Level (Max. 10%)

  • ZED Time Reload Ammo - 5% + 0.6% Per Level (Max. 20%)

New Grenade - IED - Homemade bomb that deals medium-low damage, and can stun zeds in close proximity.


Perk Skills

Tier 1 - Weapon Handling

  • Tactical Reload - Increase reload speed (No weapon restrictions)

  • Heavy Weapons Training Agility - Increase Movement Speed by 5% and increase weapon switching speed by 50%.


Tier 2 - Survival Techniques

  • Medic Training Sadism - Killing Zeds recovers 2 health and increases movement speed by 2%, stacking up to 10%. (Movement speed buff lasts 1.5 seconds, refreshed with kills.)

  • Melee Expert Stimulant - Recover 1 health every second, can no longer by grabbed by Clots, and reduce movement penalties by 50%. (Movement penalties mitigated are Iron Sights, Crouching, Critical Health, and Weight)


Tier 3 - Equipment

  • Ammo Vest Requisitions - Gain 30% armor bonus, allows other players to receive armor from you once per wave. (grants up to 25% armor to allies)

  • Weapon Harness Supply and Demand - Increase carrying capacity by 5. Dosh rewards for assisting allies, or allies assisting you are increased by 25%.


Tier 4 - Destruction

  • Spontaneous Zed-plosion Homemade Ammunition - Reduce recoil of bullet weapons by 20% and increase stumble power by 50%. Dealing damage with bullet weapons has a 25% chance to ignite Zeds.

  • Make Things go Boom - Increase the area of effect of all Explosives by 25% Zeds killed with explosives have a 25% chance to explode, damaging and knocking down nearby Zeds.


Tier 5 - Specialist Training

  • ZED TIME - Madman - During Zed time you swap weapons in real time, and all your weapons shoot 3x faster.

  • ZED TIME - Will to Live - During Zed time you move in real-time, recover half of your missing health, and gain 50% additional damage resistance. (Max. resistance of 75%)


I'm still not 100% sure on what the majority of the player base want from the Survivalist Perk, but to me this seems much better than what we have currently.

Summer Gorefasts blocking headshots. The game being harder during the summer and easier during the winter due to enemy hitbox changes is odd.

As we all know, the upgrade system needs some more time put into it to make it better. However I fear that TWI may keep the upgrade system in the official update and fix it later, which I don't think is a good idea. Even if it might be fixed later on, it's better to ship something polished. It may even deter some players because of how it messed up the weapons.

No matter how long it takes, I'll be glad to see that it'll be fixed when shipped.

Am I the only one who misses the player gore from kf1

I remember if you died to specific things your character would be gored like if you died to a siren your head would explode or if a fleshpound plowed through you it would rip your limbs off, I missed this in kf2 because it made enemies have a sense of more intimidation I hope TW brings it back

Weapon Bashes Do not scale with weight despite upgrades increasing weight.

Weapon bashes normally scale with weight.

all 7 KG weapons do the same bash damage. or and all 6 KG weapons do teh same bash damage.

You'd think, making your weapon heavier with upgrades would make the bash damage scale but it doesn't.

Also weapons with weight changes, their bashes damage values are incorrect.

  • 5 KG nailgun still does 6 KG damage.
  • 6 KG m4 shotgun still does 8 KG damage
  • 8 KG RPG still does 9 KG bash damage
  • ETC.

It'd be proper to address this since now how impact weight is with upgrades.

Pre-patch I didn't really mind m4 shotgun incorrectly doing 8 KG damage, but with a major focus on carrying weight with the upgrade system it seems appropriate to address.

Not sure if anyone else gets this, but when either tap firing or charging a shot, it feel like the shot goes about .5 seconds after releasing the trigger instead of immediately. I find it really annoying to use because of it and don't have as much fun because of it.

I am not asking for a faster rate of fire or anything, but when I release the mouse button, can it fire immediately instead of having this awkward delay? Is anyone else experiencing this as well? Is this a known bug? Am I the only one that feels this way?

I don't know how to reproduce this exactly, but when buying and selling weapons, it's possible to have weapons disappear from your inventory but still take up weight. You can buy the gun again after that, but there's no way to reclaim the lost weight. It seems like this happens semi-frequently when buying and selling dual pistols.

Here you can see I'm at 4 weight despite not having any purchased weapons.

Edit: Managed to do one better. Now, not only do I have 4 wasted weight (from dual 1911s which vanished from the inventory), now the 9mil is also gone from the inventory!

Modding Particles Trouble

I posted this on the TWI forums 3 days ago but didn't get any reply, so this is a call to mapmakers, modders or devs

I downloaded the UDK that came out free with the Unreal Engine 3 which is the engine that uses this game, I tried to open the particles that I need to edit them but they are not recognized or are not what I should open, they are .upk files and simply do not open in any way, I searched everywhere and only XCOM posts come out saying that you cannot recompile a .upk (I did not use the KF2 UDK because there was no particle tutorials in TWI wiki or youtube).

It's not to make maps, I just want to modify certain particles of the game so that they don't appear, set their values to 0/delete his properties, and then if I can find tutorials of particles for the UE3 modify others, but the bad thing is that the links of the original tutorials are broken and direct me to the download page of UE4.

I have seen in a post of TWI forums how the modders edit particles and in custom maps how there are particles that are not inside the game, an example is the green fire in the Infernal Realm map (before official release).

What do I have to do to edit this?

Killing Floor 2 won't launch! Please help

I've been able to play this game for awhile, had alot of fun. Logged in over 40 hours. But then a couple of months ago, I wasn't able to play. I'd launch the game and I'd get the Killing Floor 2 splash screen then it would close. Other times, the game would enter windowed mode for a bit before closing again. I haven't seen the menu in ages. I have tried every single fix imaginable. EVERY. SINGLE. FIX.

My Specs:

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Intel Core i7 3770 @ 3.40GHz

8GB DDR3 798Mhz

Intel HD Graphics 4000

Please help, I love this game and I just want to play again. If I had enough money I'd go buy a new computer but I don't have enough money to go and do that.
