| Posted: 26 May 2018 10:32 PM PDT I am talking most specifically about the "Spin Cycle" task. It picks a few games you can play and will add progress toward a badge. Cool, right? I would love for there to be some sort of permanent solution to this issue I know many of us face. We spend more time choosing a game to play than we do actually playing. If we could get a feature similar to this, that either auto refreshes every few days, or lets us refresh it every X days, I would use it all the time. Now I don't believe a completely random "Complete X game" task would work for many of us, as there are just TOO MANY games, and some games can't be "beat." But some sort of "Play 5 hours of Civilization V" or, "Complete 10 achievements in Deus Ex" would be amazing. It could give you progress toward a badge you level up, or maybe just add on to an infinite counter "User has completed 20 Spin Cycle tasks." I would love to hear some more ideas. Valve is clearly able to implement something like this, so lets show them that this is a feature we want to stick around! edit: I just want to make it clear I am talking about games you already own. Each user gets recommendations based on their current library. I absolutely agree a system like this that promotes a game you don't own would be terrible. I am also not suggesting a system that pushes you to play junk games just to get achievement points, just something to help you decide which game to play next. I know i'm not alone in this thinking. News Articles User Anecdotes Even though i'm getting downvoted in the comments I really appreciate the discussion. [link] [comments] |
