| One of McCree's lines turns out hilariously wrong in French Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:40 PM PDT Just heard for the first time the line McCree says when there's a Pharah on the team sometimes:
In French it goes something like this
Only tirer (edit: which also indeed means "shooting") is French slang for "fucking" (ex: j'ai tiré cette nana, "I fucked that chick"), not used that much anymore but you can hear it in old (70's/80's) French movies. So the translation goes something like
What was supposed to be some emotional voice line turns into the biggest burn in the whole game. edit 2: Just to be fair, it is the correct translation, I, by no means, don't want to imply the translators did a bad job, that's the correct way to put it and when I heard Pharah's line I only thought about "shooting", only when I heard the second line the context turns the phrase into a whole other direction in retrospect. (not sure if I'm clear, I mean qui t'as appris à tirer is perfectly fine, except when followed by "your mom") [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 03 Apr 2018 03:39 AM PDT Here's a link to the album with some more information and photos of everything. I'm honestly floored with how kind and supportive everyone at the OW team was. I sent them a letter thanking them for making such an awesome game, and for how much it meant to my girlfriend and me. Several people from the team reached out to me and sent their condolences and offered their support, and a day later their Community Manager reached out to me and told me he wanted to send some goodies her way. I really wasn't expecting what I ended up receiving from them. I just felt like sharing how truly generous and incredibly supportive they all were! Edit: A tremendous thank you for all the further condolences everyone has given. It means a lot :)! [link] [comments] | ||

| Add a quick melee icon in the kill feed please Posted: 03 Apr 2018 08:26 AM PDT I really think the kill feed should have an icon devoted to quick melee kills. I feel like knowing when to use quick melee is a good skill to have, and it would feel a bit more rewarding if other players could tell that is how you finished the enemy off. Something as simple as a closed fist would be great. It would be the same icon for every player, unlike the ability icons. I know that some players would really appreciate it, and I can't think of any reasons not to do it at the moment. Feel free to point out any potential problems this could bring though. Personally, I just want everybody to acknowledge that I just put that ulting Genji in his place with a sweet discord kick to the face because my transcendence was only at 96%. [link] [comments] | ||
| Moria "Bean Sídhe" Skin Concept Posted: 03 Apr 2018 10:19 AM PDT Hey, guys, I'm here with some Moira fan concept art! I've been working on this skin concept (which I have informally called "the spooky elf skin") for the last couple weeks, though I've had the idea for a while longer. It's inspired by "Bean Sídhe", or banshee, and Aen Seidhe of Irish mythology, as well as the art and designs of Guillermo del Toro and the elves of classic high fantasy (which themselves stem from the myths of the Aen Seidhe). I'll probably do a couple iterations on the general concept over the coming months, most likely a darker, crow-and-death-themed "Morrigan" version and a Pan's-Labyrinth-inspired "Faun" version. And, for a shameless plug, here's my website. Thanks! [link] [comments] | ||
| Assuming Reyes is playable in Retribution, that means we get the Cool Gabe voice back! Posted: 03 Apr 2018 12:04 PM PDT Last year we got a sample of what Gabriel Reyes sounded like prior to his downfall (It was just Keith Ferguson not doing a rough gravely voice). As we know that Retribution takes place 1 year prior to the Null Sector Uprising that means we're going to get more voice clips this time. Now it's possible that Reyes will be "Mission Control" like he was last year but I think all of us expect him to be playable in the main mission. If this is the case, that means we also get in character Blackwatch banter between our 4 operatives! Actual Reyes/McCree dialogue! The rest of Blackwatch conversing with Moira. These are the juicy little interactions we've been begging for. [link] [comments] | ||

| Too many heroes? A simple solution Posted: 03 Apr 2018 01:40 PM PDT There are at least 20 something heroes now, so it can get pretty overwhelming. People would get upset if we got rid of any heroes, so to simplify the game I propose we combine some. Roadmaker- shift- you fly to whatever you hook, but it also flies to you. first hero to be able to destroy terrain e- you eat a poisonous apple and fall asleep, but you suddenly have 7 torbjorn allies ult- "no one can hide from my road", you place down a stretch of road. it takes a few days for the concrete and tar to settle, but damn it looks good. you can see anyone who walks on it Meirah- shift- you turn into a block of ice that launches whatever direction you're facing, dealing heavy damage if you hit anyone ult- "just ice rains from above", all other types of precipitation immediately end, then icicles fall from the sky and deal moderate lethal damage to everything Luciombra- shift- you turn invisible, but you also pump up the volume. nobody can see you, but they can all hear you ult- "oh lets break the luces!", you drop the beat hard enough to turn off all the lights. you give everyone shields, but then immediately take them away Tracehart- shift- you blink forward, instantly killing anyone in your path left click- you shoot out tons of hammers that instantly kill anyone in their path e- you throw a fireball into the past and that would explain why everyone is dead in the present ult- "british hammer!", though your grandparents hate each other, your german and british blood swirl together to become an ethereal hammer of molten tea. all enemies become allies eventually and the hammer is merely a centrepiece on a lovely table Bastetra- shift- you lose 25% of your damage, but you create an immobile clone of yourself that deals that much damage. you may place up to infinite of these, but it gets awkward after a couple left click- you shoot out a continuous stream of bullets that locks on to any enemies in the general area'ish. if they somehow aren't dead after a few moments, it'll get more powerful for some reason ult- "ahhhhhhh", you slowly transform into a shield generator. you realize your mistake immediately as you feel your body being torn apart and your consciousness being ripped away. you lose all cognitive abilities once the transformation is complete McCreeVA- shift- you fly through the air, rolling the whole time left click- same as D.VA's, but each bullet does as much damage as McCree's left click ult- "nerf noon!", your mech flies up to the sun and blows it up, killing everyone after 7 or so minutes What do you guys think?
