Fallout - It really shouldn't have taken community mods or the Creation Club to finally add backpacks back into the Fallout series, Bethesda and Obsidian. When you talk about survival the first thing anyone in their right mind thinks of is backpack/bug-out bag and a campfire.

I don't like the voice of protagonist in Fo4 when doing an evil playthrough.

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 12:34 AM PDT

It never matches the look of the character I make. Every bit of "evil" dialogue just isn't convincing, he/she just comes off as sassy rather than evil. Half the time I just mute voice audio to get immersed into the role, but boy does it make the world seem... quiet, yeah their is sfx and music, but holy shit is better than listening to my boy scout ass speak.

Edit: a word

Weird Fallout confession

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 07:44 AM PDT

I play Caravans from New Vegas with people I know (who never even heard of New Vegas) and even my professor if I get finished early. Is this weird? Should I be judged?

If there was a game/DLC in your home state/area, how would it go?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 07:46 AM PDT

New Jersey could actually be a pretty cool place. There'd be lots of beaches with TONS OF MIRELURKS. There are also lots of woods in the area, so Radstags, Bloodbugs, Bloatflies, and Molerats would be really common. Thanks to the fact that it's one of the most populated states, Ghouls, Raiders, and Super Mutants would probably be everywhere, making it a pretty dangerous place.

I honestly think it'd be a great place for a game, or maybe a DLC location if the main game happens in a nearby area.

How long did it take you to reach New Vegas?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 02:36 AM PDT

I started OWB before I reached Vegas. By the time I set foot on the strip, I was level 51 and an in-game year has passed? How long did it take you?

[FO2] I finally got this game to work!

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 11:09 AM PDT

To make a long story short, I cut my teeth on NV, grew moderately fond of 3, sunk a lot of hours into 4, and then decided to try out 1 and 2.

A family member let me have an old laptop for free - running Windows 7 - and I bought the disks in a cheap package with Tactics. 1 looked fine, but 2 - the one I really wanted to play - was all messed up graphically. Unplayable. Didn't matter what settings I tried. Two patches later (high res and Killnap's fix) and everything works except the video cutscenes.

It's a hard game, but fun. :)

NV gambling system is so fun.

It addicts you even with the losing. I collected Legion money from dead people just to gamble.

Is there any way to fire the nukes in FO4?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 07:39 AM PDT

In the glowing sea there is a nuclear base full of what I'm assuming nukes. Is there any way to fire them or they are just for show?

Is there an image of a minimalist power armour helmet somewhere on the internet?

Looking for one for a tattoo; google images didn't come up with anything suitable.

Legion safehouse key help

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 08:10 AM PDT

I'm wondering if it's possible to get the safehouse key without committing to what to do with the platinum chip. As far as I can tell, Yes man wants me to come back with the chip, but Caesar won't seem to let me leave until I go into the robot station. Maybe there's a way to get it without going to the fort?

I'm idolized, haven't done any actual quests for them. I have save spots from before talking to house, benny, and yes man. Not trying to quest, just get that good gear set I want.

Is the intro to WALL-E inspired from Fallout?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 09:37 AM PDT

I remember playing Fallout for the first time and the happy post WW2 music along with a desolate wasteland reminded me so much of Wall-E, but Fallout came first..

In Fallout Shelter, dedication means nothing.

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 03:19 PM PDT

i don't think i've been so frustrated before. i love this game, it's addicting, and it's fun. everything was going smoothly, i was figuring out ways to get the water and food levels to the top, and making so much progress.

until the fucking Radroaches show up. whipped out EVERYTHING, weapons didn't do shit, they'd spawn more in after a room was completely fucked. days of progress, gone within seconds.

Just started Fallout 1, how worried should I be about time constraints?

Posted: 26 Apr 2018 09:49 PM PDT

So I just started the game, and my pipboy says I have 150 days before the vault runs out of water. How much should I be worried about the deadline?

Is Swanson in FO4 Butch from FO3?

Posted: 26 Apr 2018 05:28 PM PDT

He's got the leather jacket. He's got the hairstyle. He uses the GOAT as a safe test. It just struck me as being so strange.

Memory loungers (access to prewar times)

Posted: 26 Apr 2018 08:49 PM PDT

I was a bit sad that the only prewar world space was sanctuary at the beginning of the game. Obviously Bethesda did a decent job of showing us what a prewar setting could be, but that's only teasing us. If the memory loungers can do what they say they can do, the Sole Survivor should be able to go back and access prewar memories. I was a bit sad to figure out you couldn't. Anyone else ever had this thought, or wish that prewar was a bit more than it was?

How to fix this glitch?

Posted: 27 Apr 2018 04:17 AM PDT

I was with the railroad and had just finished building the teleporter when I hit one of them and ended up killing them all, I have the plans back but it won't let me do anything, I can't speak to the brotherhood or the minutemen. Anything I can do to fix this?
