RIP Brave NW territory explorer

i had my character prepared for an extended excursion into the northwest section of the map. Knowing water was scarce, I packed in plenty of containers and purification tablets. Made sure i had plenty of ammo to fight off wolfpacks.

I didn't account for my own stupidity. After taking heavy damage from two wolfpacks, I was no longer healthy. In a panic to get my blood up, I drank a pot of pond water without purifying. I made it through stage 1 Cholera but when stage two hit, I knew I was done for. In hindsight, I should have made a run for the coast as soon as I became sick so I could dump my gear.

All that said, I love this game and how I can choose my own adventure. Can't wait for .63.

Question/issue - weird resolution and pink screen

Hi,

My girlfriend just downloaded dayZ and it's working flawlessly in windowed mode. But full screen is really messed up.

The screen is pink and scaled like if it needed to cover 2 screen. The mouse is also off. We tried to modify the config (resolution and render) We tried alt+enter right click and alt+enter We tried to change the settings Lower the graphics Delete the configs Update the drivers...

Is there anything else to do? Haven't seen anything else :/

Sorry if it's a known issue I'm back in the game after 3-4years off so I don't know what happened during that time.

Drinking from Cooking Pots

In game, the description of the cooking pot says it has a capacity of about 2 litres. I have four cooking pots in the inventory of my current character, and they really haven't kept me hydrated for very long. It feels like they're providing less hydration than a plastic bottle.

I've been using the "Drink All" function, so I've been thinking that maybe it is slightly bugged, and only giving me a small portion of the water but emptying the whole pot. Either that, or I'm grossly underestimating my character's unquenchable thirst.

If anyone has any tips when it comes to storing water in these pots, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hello so me and some buddies are coming back to the game after a long break, and I thought I would ask this nice community for some ideas/help!

So I have been browsing for some time today and saw multiple players fully loaded and been surviving for days and days.

  1. Question Where do you find weapons like the FAL and M4? Weapons I have never ever seen ingame (I have seen the M4 back when it was common in the start of the alpha ofc.) And do you guys have like loot spots you always turn to? I seem to have such a hard time finding military loot ever since they nerfed the airfields, and I see people in this reddit and running around like its normal.

  2. Question How do you survive for long and how do you keep the game interesting if you are surviving for long? I'm assuming to stay alive for so long you must be extra careful and always take the long paths around towns and peaking every tree etc. But how do you still find interest in the game if you are always running the long way and maybe not even have a human encounter for hours since the low amount of people playing/maximum people on a server being quite low for such a big map.

Do you guys have like a starter routine everytime you spawn or something like that? Hope you guys can help a friendly noob around here! Sorry if you find some of the questions stupid, but remember if you already know the answer to a question it might seem stupid to you but not to a clueless survivor!

So i want to play Dayz. Mainly after watching soviet womble' s bullshitery videos and those social experiments.

But i have 2 questions. 1. Is the game dead? (from a player standpoint) 2. Is the game abandoned by the developers? Ok and one more. 3. Is there Hope?

PS. Yes, I did take a look at the post called: Should I buy DayZ or come back to play again? This is what our community says! But its very outdated. (2 years old posts)

Do you like Putin?

Got taken hostage recently, like so many times before it could go both ways. It started out fine, the guy pointing his AK47 at me, told me to sit down, as he handcuffed me and put a burlapsack on my head, he then took all my ammo and magazines. Calmly he asked me to move to a building close to the beach (walked for 10 min). As I entered the building the stench of rotten flesh almost made me puke, the guy who took me prisoner asked me to sit. He then uncuffed me and took the sack away... There was blood everywhere, human flesh and guns stacked in a little piles in the yellow beach house, yet unskinned corpses in the next room. The guy who took me prisoner was standing next to 3 other guys, 2 of them in full ghillie. The guy with the FAL and a russian accent yelled at me: "Eat! My friend!" and pointed at the human flesh before me, knowing I would get sick of the rotten flesh, I refused. Pointing the gun at me he yelled even louder: Eat! Or die!" Reluctantly I ate the flesh... I felt bad immediately. The guy with the FAL asked: "So how do you feel about Putin?" I mumbled something about him being an idiot... Dead.

I now have PSTD from playing Dayz. 😋
