Early and midgame items in Turbo Posted: 15 Mar 2018 01:04 PM PDT When playing Turbo Mode, do you guys go for early and midgame items like Aquila, Urn, Drums, SnY, Treads (instead of straight BoT), etc? I really feel like these items don't have nearly as much impact since the early-midgame only lasts for 10 or so minutes, and I normally focus on getting big items, or at least items with a decent upgrade (Dragon Lance, Maelstrom, Yasha) The exception for this of course seems to be farming items like MoM, BFury, Maeltrom. What do you think? [link] [comments]

Why don't people play Ogre as an offlaner? Posted: 15 Mar 2018 11:24 AM PDT He has a lot of bulk and great talents. The "all his spells are useful as a support" also applies to Vengeful Spirit, but people play her as a core just fine. [link] [comments]
Posted: 15 Mar 2018 11:13 AM PDT I have been playing dk offlane for a few games. His regen and armor seem obscenely strong but i dont see him going offlane, do you guys know why [link] [comments]
A slight change that has gone unnoticed. Posted: 15 Mar 2018 10:57 AM PDT So the update on March 12, added the controversial Dotaplus and some UI updates so most other aspects got unnoticed, but I wanted to bring something up. Added animation for Techies: Remote Mines cast. Techies had an animation added to his remote mine detonation. Now on principal I think that this was done to try and punish scripters, as the goblin bros are already dumpster tier and don't need additional nerfs. But as a non scripter techies picker this has really screwed me up. The delay in the casting is just enough that people will walk out of the mines or it stops you from chaining together your other animations like using blast off and then a proxy. I could be wrong about this and it might have already been there, but I believe it's also adding a one second CD to the animation which if you are defending high ground makes it a heck of a lot harder because you can't detonate your groups correctly. I know that techies doesn't get a lot of love around here, but I'm really afraid that this nerf is another in a long series of heavy handed indifference aimed at the hero when what he really needs are some strategic buffs. He is already completely countered by BKB, The proxies beep when you are near them, Blastoff is stopped by almost every disable, root or stun in the game even when it's already in motion, He has very little farming ability before level 6 and by that point it's dangerous to try to farm a lane, He's terrible early game, very item dependent, slow, has the lowest base dmg in the game, little armor, little health, and can be pretty much completely countered by just picking very tanky heroes and not playing like an idiot. Has anyone else played with the addition of the animation? Is it screwing you up? Or am I just bad and crazy? [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Mar 2018 09:50 PM PDT So I've decided to hop back into Dota after 2 years. I played one match of Dota and man... I'm rusty, but also everything has changed! What do I need to know to get back up to speed? I mainly play support, or used to. Ward spots are mostly the same, as I dewarded several last game. Any help would be great! Tips or just advice. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 14 Mar 2018 05:44 PM PDT i need tips on itemisation and laning on mid as morph. also how i farm faster with him? with kills i get e-blade + linkens by 21 minute mark and without - linkens 14-16 , e - blade 25-29. [link] [comments]
Late game quas wex invoker/Itemization in general Posted: 14 Mar 2018 08:56 PM PDT So I've been practicing quas-wex invoker in bot matches and just played it in a pub and i'm wondering what kind of items you would want to aim for? My build is Phase-->Urn-->Meteor Hammer-->Aghs-->Blink. Early game I felt extremely strong and could kill basically any hero with urn meteor hammer cold snap combo but late game i began to fall really behind in net worth. While I could still contribute to fights with tornado and just general utility spells I wasn't able to deal significant damage like I could in the early game. Is quas wex really just utility in the late game or am I playing this wrong? Game Link: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3781464577 [link] [comments]
| Posted: 15 Mar 2018 12:50 AM PDT So what do you guys think of this hero? I've been playing him for like half a dozen games now and Im going to continue So far while Im archon 5 I've realised that people think support is buying the first two wards or roaming all game when I play offlane -As a support player I always hate it when the world screams at me to stay in line and do what I do best But I'd like to leave that spot Now my playstyle with razor is a tad odd, my last hit game is silver on the minigame yet I cant say that I'm perfect.Hence Im not rotating to perfect requiring hard carries yet.Yes I know hardcarrying is about finding safe farm not perfect farm. Anywhoo so far I realised that my builds are really situational. If they have enough to merrit it I start with: -Tango -Mango -Two Branches -Headress -Slippers of agiltiy and like I said If it merrits it I'd go for a lotus orb after boots.Early arcanes is nice and Razor needs armour and attack speed from what I understood HP regen doesnt bit either His first skills not bad, the link is his ultimate and his passive is what I go early on just for level one to possibly help me with last hits.I see it as a gyro agah that doesnt scale. His talents also barely make any sense to me...Like my passives cooldown can be reduced at lvl 25? Im currently playing him like a tank so far yet his passive needs a buff... Hell I think all of razor needs a buff cause aside from the phaseboots snowball I dont see him being usefull The biggest problem I see with him is that the meta is so blink friendly (I still hate the no mana blink change) The whole slow and basic dispell (purge) cant really be relied on as it gives no priority. For level one Its good for helping with those low health creeps that you aimed too early for but late game? With so many targets? The ulti is useless enough to even merrit not touching until its your final skill or a 100 mana pushing skill Why do you ask? Because Razor is designed around being a BKB peircing physical damage dealer Which he can do but his ultimate is more of the same So just dont be right next to him and you'll be okay Now aside from the foes force staff or blink forcing allowing him to break the chain, The chain can be broken if you blink/force wrong as well. Apparently in my bracket everyone knows what dust is atleast...so the shadow blade trick wont bite anyone. A talent to let him link everyone in an area or keep the link on as long as hes in range would be sweet Still his ultimate doesnt attack buildings and nobody in his right mind will stay next to him of all people. You'd say get an atos but that just helps my link The chains what makes the hero? What hero needs to be dispelled every 5 seconds btw? Im trying to figure this out... Instead if it purged razor and gave him Armour or resistance each hit that'd make sense? Like I had a supportless PA (I know I know) on safelane that I dominted but then after she got her ulti she daggerd me to death and crits...Even the hero that I need to technically counter if she dives on me aka a melle manfighter I loose to them Maybe Im missing something, I could go on writing but enlighten me? | Posted: 15 Mar 2018 01:04 AM PDT Recently i've been thinking that sf is really strong right now and very meta. And one thing that makes him so strong in this meta right now is razes enable him to farm very quickly and even catch up from behind if he had a tough mid. Currently SF is an amazing hero in all games. So i've been testing/thinking that offlane sf would be very very good. At first you might think it is bad but let me explain please. So sf is suspectible to ganks in mid lane. same for offlane but raze lets him catch up even if he died a few times. I thinking that if he can just stay offlane till lvl 5 he can open up mid to a different hero that can benefit from the lane. And he can just quickly farm jungle etc because of raze. It seems really good to me. He would almost definitly have farm which does enable the team to have 3 FARMED carrys on the team. Just wanted to throw that out there. Let me know your opinions THX. (works well in 1700k mmr i've found) So guys. Let me HAVE YOUR input on this idea. I think pros might do this just because of how much it opens up for the team. [link] [comments] |
