[spoilers] War has changed faction review #1: The Brotherhood of steel

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 04:55 AM PDT

The Brotherhood of steel in WHC has been massively overhauled, much like the other factions. Taking inspiration from other mods about them the BoS now has control of a bit more of Lexington, as well as more people in the area in general, I'm thinking of adding more outposts dotted around with more recon teams to make the Prydwen arriving seem more of an event than a shock factor, one that BoS players will go "Hell yes! The Cavalry is here!" And others go "shit"

The battle for the airport will now be an actual battle where it is possible (although extremely unlikely) for the brotherhood to loose and if they do it will lead to a relocation of the Prydwen (I suspect this will take a long while so I don't expect this to be high on my list)

The Prydwen is no longer mission locked, it will always arrive at a random point in time, meaning it could arrive anytime from your first day in the Commonwealth to a week in. Reactions to it will be more defined, diamond city will be in a panic for a day where guards will lock down the city, closing the gate. When this happens one of two quests will start, "cracking the diamond" if you are enemies with the city, and "Diamond in the rough" if you are neutral or friendly.

The option to overthrow elder Maxon is being added, with the option of replacing him with 4 options: you can take charge, Danse can take charge, lancer Captain kells could take the role of provisional head, or you could place a synth version of him. Each has its own benifits and withdrawals

If the sole survivor takes control, you will be able to effectively lead the brotherhood in whatever direction you want to go, however a new mechanic is being added, I think a few FNV players will like this, called "Reputation" and you need to earn the trust of the faction before they will follow anything you say, if you try and do too many radical changes too fast the brotherhood will try and overthrow you starting a civilwar.

If Danse takes charge, the BoS will be slightly less radical, and a bit less xenophobic and will be the easiest way that leads to the "peaceful ending" of the game. You might ask yourself 'what's the peaceful ending?' Well what's the fun in suprises if I spoil it for you?

Lancer Captain Kells will take charge if you either refuse to elect yourself or Danse and can't make synths. He will basically be the status quo member, however he will be more sympathetic to you depending on how you treated him before this.

The synth option is only available if a: you are a part of the institute, you have befriended DiMA or have chosen to lead Acadia. The institute will use the Synthetic Maxon to make the brotherhood weak and fall into chaos, however The Acadian option will lead to the Brotherhood becoming almost friendly to non feral ghouls and gen. 2 synths, this is the only way to achieve the "harmony" ending. It's also hard to achieve without being discovered.

If Maxon isn't assassinated then the only ending you will be able to achieve is "Domination"

The BoS will use military tactics, and are going to be extremely hard to kill off, especially if you are the railroad or minutemen, power armor has been buffed heavily, and vertiberd health is quadrupled. Combat armor is also improved, with the heaviest variant acting sort of as a light version of power armor.

Power armor is now a rarity, and will make you actually have to fight to every single one. However when you do get a suit, even if it's only a frame, it will make you feel superhuman, with improved strength, better perception and accuracy, and ballistic damage being almost eliminated by the time you get a set of T-51 armor. In total there are 2 basic frames with no power armor attached, the T-45 you get in the museum of freedom quest is now just a power armor frame. There are 4 sets of T-45 power armor, however only 2 of these are full sets. 2 sets of T-51 power armor with one being in Far harbor, T-60 is only available if you are part of the BoS, and there is only one full set of X-O1 power armor in the entire game, and it is spread out across the entire commonwealth in broken pieces, however repair and put them together and you will be almost god level strong.

There is more however for now I will save that for later, I hope you enjoyed this read and don't forget to check out the last page where I announced the mod and it's basic features. Up next I will be talking about the faction by the people, for the people: the minutemen

Fallout History: The People leading Liberty

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 01:28 PM PDT

The People leading Liberty

During the Gobi Campaign in 2077 the United States Armed Forces invaded the Gobi Desert region of the People's Republic of China with the objective of eliminating strongholds of the People's liberation Army of China. One of the objectives was the capture of the Industrial City of Baotou, cutting of the supply of rare-earth metals and steel to the rest of China.

This picture shows a Chinese Propaganda photograph depicting the heroic victory of the people of Baotou against the invading American forces by rallying to the defense of their city. This picture was shared on all state media within the People's Republic of China and was even published abroad as an example of the strength and courage of the average working man and woman in the glorious communist republic. In reality the US army took the city by surprise, driving out the Chinese forces and quickly crushing any and all opposition within the city. The photograph was taken in a government owned studio in Beijing.

For those who saw my earlier work last year I'm finally back, and this time I mixed things up with instead a historical fallout picture based on a painting, and not just any painting, but the beautiful "Liberty leading the People" by Eugène Delacroix

If you want to see my other Fallout history pictures click here. You can find a color version of this picture here

Feel free to use any of my images for whatever purpose, as long as I'm credited.

Need some building ideas for Fallout 4

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 03:39 PM PDT

If any body could give me ideas on what to build in fallout I would appreciate it. Try to make it lore friendly and if the idea uses mods, limit it to mods on xbox. I don't have dlc by the way

Concerns with the Fallout 4 new vegas fan voice acting decision

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 12:41 AM PDT

As many of you may know the Fallout 4 the capital wasteland project has recently shut down due to concerns with copy right laws with the character voice acting. Because of this it's sister project Fallout 4 new vegas has decided it's best to get fans to voice act the character's in the mod because their afraid they would run into legal trouble like Fallout 4 the capital wasteland. The problem with fan voice acting is they would be removing iconic voices from the game just like NafNaf said when he opened up about the troubles the team over at Fallout 4 the capital wasteland. Can you even really call it New Vegas without Mr House's iconic voice or Wayne newton as Mr New Vegas on the radio. And think of other projects that tried this like Hunt Down The Freeman which may have been doomed from the start but that horrible voice acting sure as hell didn't help. And how can you find a guy who even remotely sounds similar to Mathew Perry as Benny. Overall I used to be exited for this project but now knowing that all the charm would have been sucked out of the game by the time they cobble together a group of kind of maybe similar sounding probably inexperienced voice actors. But hey I guess it's better than outright canceling the project all together (not that there's any choice in the matter) so good luck Fallout 4 New Vegas team because your sure as hell going need it.

Most difficult part/mission about Survival?

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 12:47 PM PDT

I did the mission A hole in the wall in Vault 88. That was insanely difficult to get through perfectly. I wanted to be a nice to give Austin the cure, but also didn't want to get bitten myself either, because i just bothers me seeing that -10 to hp. I found it to be very difficult and took a lot of sleeping and retrying parts. But I got through without getting bit!

What are some of your hardest moments in Survival mode you've had? I love hearing these kinds of stories

[Fallout 4] Can I move Piper's sister, Nat, to one of my settlements?

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 02:32 PM PDT

So I just installed Sim Settlements - Rise of the Commonwealth, and because Piper's backstory is that she and her sister Nat grew up in a tiny little settlement, and given the fact that she doesn't agree with Mayor McDonough, I would like Piper to be in charge of, say, Tenpines Bluff and do a better job than that shady bastard in Diamond City.

The only thing bothering me about this is that she couldn't just leave her underage sister behind in Diamond City all by herself, especially if she doesn't trust them, while she's out playing mayor.

Is there any way I could be able to send Nat to the settlement I send Piper to, and make her a functional settler? If that's too hard, having Nat in a settlement just running around randomly would be fine too. I don't need her to do some job or anything, as long as she's with Piper.

I appreciate any help! Thanks!

Inconsistent and long load times when entering/leaving a building... Has there been an update or workaround?

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 01:35 PM PDT

Just started playing the Fallout series (finished NV last night) and started a new Fallout 4 campaign today (i'm loving it).

One of the main differences between NV and FO4 is the load times. NV would crush load times, like load up a new area or building in under 2 seconds, but it seems like FO4 takes upwards to one minute to load. I'm not sure if there was a recent fix for this or something because all of the forums regarding this issue are about 1-3 years old.

I have a solid PC (i7-7700k, 1080Ti, 16GB @ 3200MHz RAM, and the game is installed on a 1TB 850 EVO SSD). I'm not seeing any frame drops or performance issues while running the game on high settings, and pull a solid 70fps.

Does anyone here know if something can be done to minimize the load timing? I'm also super early in the campaign, like I just got to Concord lol.

Anything helps, and if its a dead subject and nothing can be done, I'd appreciate that as well.

TLDR: Game loading time is suspiciously long (about a minute or two) with a good gaming PC, game installed on SSD, not far in campaign.

Fallout 3 v. New Vegas

Posted: 14 Mar 2018 05:50 PM PDT

What is everyone's opinion on each and which one do you prefer? I personally prefer New Vegas because I love the territory war and I love the old style casino feel. Also I love the wandering more.

Ideas for new mini games in fallout 5?

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 11:47 AM PDT

Anyone else imagine new mini games similar to lock picking or hacking? I was thinking about a scrapping game where you have to harvest the parts in similar fashion to lock picking where you take screws out of the junk and collect the pieces you need

Fallout 5 idea/No Love For Okie's

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 03:26 PM PDT

In my history class (college) we are learning about the dust bowl right now and the more I think about it, I want a dust bowl or depression era themed fallout game. The protagonist can be a trader that works and gets along well with a neighboring vault so much, they consider you one of their own amd even give you a vault jump suit (the vault number could be 29 because that's the year the depression began). You, as the Traveling Trader, will have to face raiders, overly religious conservative thugs, remnants of a Brotherhood cthat tried to move to the midwest, mutants, and most importantly, mother nature herself. A radioactive dust bowl that makes RadX and RadAway look like kiddie vitamins. Everything will be about controlling the trade and getting things from point A to Point B. There could even be some DLC where you can visit California, as many migrated there during the era. Idk, I think it would be cool.

[FO3] I'm amazed that I keep finding areas I've never been before.

Posted: 14 Mar 2018 04:48 PM PDT

I've played FO3 about 4 or 5 times through to completion, as far as the main story is concerned. However, this time I wanted to take a slower, more deliberate pace than usual. I try not to fast travel and I'm always looking for places that I otherwise would have passed over on my other runs. Just now, I came across another place I've never been, Arlington Cemetery and Mama Dolce's processing plant. This is on top of several other places I've only now just discovered for the first time.

I think my issue previously was that in the Capital, it's so disconnected by train tunnels that it's easy to miss several large areas if you're not actively seeking new routes. Usually I'm always on mission but this time around, I'm try to explore much more than I had previously. I know this is kind of a pointless post but I'm just excited to see what else I've looked over so many time.

Quality of life mods for Fallout 3?

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 04:14 AM PDT

I'm starting a new playthrough of Fallout 3. This is my first time playing it though with mods. I don't want to change the core game, but rather I just want some mods that make things better. Like UI enhancements or something of the sort.

Any recommendations? Thank you

[FO4] Mod Loading problem.

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 02:25 PM PDT

Since i got myself a new laptop, i have reinstalled some mods that i've had before. However, looking at the ingame mod loading page, i notice that some of them are greyed out and when i click to load one of them a popup that says "This mod cannot be installed since it depends on files that aren't present".

So looking up what that meant, it turns out to be that i haven't installed any of the submods for a large scale mod. But the thing is that i've never before had to deal with that problem (Not even on Skyrim) and all the required submods for each mod ranges from 5-10 individual mods that i have to download, but even then it doesn't always work.

Am i doing something wrong? I'm no expert when it comes to modding and i'm at a loss on what to do next.

How to get rid of Lethargy - permanetly

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 01:39 PM PDT

My character keeps getting afflicted by lethargy which sucks the fun out of the game. Some say sleep it off, others say sleeping to much causes it. Some say antibiotics will cure it (I seem to recall that not working).

Are there any mods that gets rid of lethargy completely? As the non-modding dude that I am, is removing this feature on my own feasible? Is there a willing modder out there who can get rid of it?

If the above is impossible, does anyone have any tips that work on preventing and curing lethargy?

Edit: I am playing Fallout 4 Survival mode

Fallout 3 GOTY GOG Version the way to go ?

Posted: 15 Mar 2018 06:59 AM PDT

Hi guys. Huge Fallout 4 and New Vegas fan.

Always wanted to get into Fallout 3.

I have the non-goty Steam version and I managed to make it run. But I really want to experience the game with the Wanderer's Edition. And this mod requires the Goty edition.

Is it true that the GOG version is more stable ?

I basically just want a few mod since this will be my 1st run .. So can I simply get the Gog version with FOSE, Wanderer Edition, CASM, Fellout and hope to have a stable crash-less experience ?

Thanks for any tips.

could it work, or would the Enclave take advantage, and kill off the outcasts AND the Lyons BOS

if the BOS outcasts hate the Elder Lyons BOS, wouldn't that mean that the outcasts would like the Enclave and could work together?
