RuneScape Litt speaks up about his experience of losing his account. Mistakes like this from Jagex are still happening today.

Litt speaks up about his experience of losing his account. Mistakes like this from Jagex are still happening today.

Background (since it's been a while): In Fall 2016, well-known streamer YouGotLittUp was permanently banned for RWT. He was told by Mod Infinity on Twitter that both Infinity and a senior anti-cheating specialist had checked it out, and that the offense was "100% correct" and separate to swap trades.

After some outrage on Reddit and Twitter, Litt received more details about why the ban was applied, and had a chance to provide his own screenshots and evidence. It came to light that he was banned because his swapper had RWT'd, and the ban was reversed.

Recently, there has been another permanent ban for RWT attracting discussion/outrage on Twitter. The below text is from this recent tweet.

Honestly, the policy of 'no evidence, no discussion' regarding perm bans should be reviewed..

Firstly, it doesn't reflect badly on Player Support if they open a case for discussion and it turns out there was a mistake/misunderstanding; to the contrary: people appreciate transparency and decency.

The argument that detection methods need to be protected is so easily refuted/essentially redundant imo.. How can providing simple evidence such as "you traded X amount of go to player Y on this date" be detrimental to the functionality or integrity of your system. I understand that you're right in 99% of cases but don't you owe it to the 1% since people put thousands of hours into their accounts and providing evidence isn't particularly hard - you do it for macros and bad language etc..

I was very fortunate in that I was provided with such 'evidence' via Reddit (after being assured my ban was "100% correct", as many others are) and this enabled me to explain the misunderstanding and prove my innocence. It's completely unfair that others are not afforded such an opportunity for no good reason that i am aware of.

Thx for reading if u do @JagexSupport and sorry for lotsa text but i know how shit it felt to get falsely permed n feel helpless (even tho i don't play now myself) xo

Also not trying to be rude and i do rate player support they do a great job on the whole, but you can't claim your process is infallible when in my case alone there were 2 significant oversights on your part:

firstly, you were unaware of my 07 account Which received gp as the second half of the swap transaction, even tho was same IP and called "litt 07"

and you also claimed there was "no in-game chat"; whilst there was no public chat, there were dozens of pms with the dude i was swapping with (luckily had screenies)

Litt's evidence 1 Litt's evidence 2

So why does this matter now? It's still a very real possibility that permanent bans are being handed out mistakenly, and it's a sad reality that these people are told that their bans are "100% correct".

A friend of mine is going through this right now. She does not even know what exactly her ban was applied for, exactly - she was just told that she had RWT'd.

Think of if you were taken to court and only told that you've been charged with fraud, but not given any other information. How can you begin to build a case for yourself? Trying to present your financial history in its entirety is impractical.

People can have their doubts about whether the ban is deserved or not - but not being given the chance to present evidence about a specific wrongdoing is incredibly alienating for a person who has played that account for thousands of hours. It's incredibly frustrating for her friends who are seeing a pillar of their community disappear without explanation or recourse.

So, please - we know it's only a small minority of banned players who are mistakenly banned. But innocent players should absolutely have a chance to at least present more evidence or be given more information. We don't mind if Jagex admits that its systems are occasionally wrong. Thanks for reading.

Make Legacy-Only worlds only force legacy combat

Posted: 30 Mar 2018 03:09 AM PDT

Legacy-only words forcing you into the legacy combat mode makes sense, however being forced into the legacy INTERFACE makes no sense. You can use the two interfaces regardless of what combat style you use, so why does it have to force you into the legacy interface for legacy worlds?

It would be very appreciated if legacy-only worlds only forced legacy combat and not the legacy interfaces. Thank you.

Seperate walk animations and stance animations?

Posted: 30 Mar 2018 12:15 AM PDT

So I recently bought the anime walk token, specifically for use with other weeboo cosmetics. The anime walk also has a stance animation attached to it that doesnt fit the weeboo aesthetic, and i would much prefer to use a different stance animation (such as the one from the golden katana). I understand this is pretty niche and i cant think of many other examples other than the revenant walk, which as far as im aware, it doesnt force you to have floating weapons, so i just dont want to be forced into using this stance animation. Again, super niche but if anyone else has examples of animations that clash or dont work well for them then please share!

Trying to get 75 Dungeoneering for Plague's End and I'm in need of some tips badly

Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:29 AM PDT

I'm currently level 60 (all from xp lamps etc) and just recently tried sinkholes. My problem is that this skill confuses me like nothing else, so I never bothered with it. I've done 13 floors at most.

How do I level this skill efficiently? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stop saying "PM me" in forums for big ticket items

Posted: 29 Mar 2018 03:43 PM PDT

We need to have like an auction house in place for big ticket items. Like lets say if their GE value is above 500m. I've been trying to buy a fashionscape item (whose price is below max cash stack) near GE price and no one is selling it for two weeks now. GE price trackers indicates the price is falling yet even when i regularly update my offer up, it doesn't get bought. Whats worse is that when i PM these forum people, their price they reply with is a complete ripp off. From +15% to +25% GE price. And if you think "its just +15% price, pay up if you really want it" well, for big ticket items, these small percentage increase means a lot and I'm not gonna pay 975m for a GE priced item at 850m, because that's what +15% increase in price entails.
