Posted: 30 Mar 2018 08:26 AM PDT blowing away a herd of elephants with shotguns. Toxic fallout had devastated the land for weeks and this was the first herd of animals to revisit the area. I had to do it to survive. She was furious (mostly because I was laughing so hard) that I was playing a game where I could heartlessly kill these creatures. I then tried to explain this isn't that bad because you can also harvest human organs and sell slaves. That didn't help my case. 10/10 would kill elephants again. [link] [comments]

How do I stop caravans coming from the ocean? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 01:01 AM PDT So I started a new game, and every single attack and caravan comes from the ocean. It takes forever for them to get to my base because of the 12% max movement penalty. To make matters worse they leave the same way, wading off into the ocean. Sometimes, it takes so long for them to get to the edge that they literally go insane or starve. Can someone offer a fix? [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Mar 2018 10:27 PM PDT So I don't know if any of you have experienced this bug before, but my colonists social skill is at 5874/1000... so... more than the amount needed to level, but it's not leveling... wut? [link] [comments]

Rimworld Tip of the Day #3: Burn them Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:10 PM PDT If you have firestarter installed, you can make an impromptu crematorium simply by making a dumping stockpile specifically for corpses on either concrete or natural stone. Once all the corpses are in place, and stripped if you want to sell the clothes, simply light it on fire with firestarter. Make sure you zone it out of your home area, though. This is also useful if you are using the medieval mod and can't build a crematorium. [link] [comments]
I'm excited about starting a new colony! Posted: 30 Mar 2018 12:19 PM PDT So for my second play through I think I want to do a prison ship crash scenario and have at least two psychopaths, what should my third guy be? Or should I have more than three people? Recommend any changes to the starting items? I did Cassandra on rough my first time and that got too easy, everyone raves about randy so I'll give that a go...extreme difficulty? I just want to say this is an awesome game and the things you guys post have made me burst out laughing so many times. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Has anyone met Taffy? Bought the name in game "dlc" and wondered if anyone has come across her! Posted: 30 Mar 2018 11:36 PM PDT I know that the oft-rolled Engie is a real person, and everyone has an Engie story (one of mine beat her ex-husband to death in a fit of rage after the cheating, lying bastard insulted her in the fields) so if anyone has any Taffy stories that would be neat. And if anyone else has put their name in the game I'd love to know if I've come across them! [link] [comments]
Black Screen on Startup without 2nd Monitor Posted: 30 Mar 2018 11:16 PM PDT I bought this game today and played it a while, fullscreened on a 2nd screen I plug into my laptop before leaving my house for the week. Without my 2nd screen, when I boot the game the window doesn't show up, although the app is still running and can be seen on my app bar at the bottom of the screen. Selecting "move" from right clicking it there can make the window appear, however it is a completely black screen, save for the steam popup in the bottom right, which fails to go away completely, becoming a buggy gray rectangle. The mouse texture and sounds do load, and clicking sometimes makes button sounds suggesting the title screen has loaded but is just invisible. So, in a nutshell: The game is starting up but I have to force the window to appear, and when it does no graphics are there other than the mouse. I've already tried reinstalling the game, removing the config files (and everything else in the files in appdata), disabled steam cloud sync, reverting the game to alpha17b, and restarting my computer. Does anyone have any ideas for how I can fix this? An idea I had is the game might still think it's fullscreened on the 2nd screen somehow and is trying to render there, but I couldn't find a way to set it to start windowed in the config files. If anyone has screenshots of the title screen & options menu I might be able to navigate to the option to set the game to windowed since I can still click the invisible buttons (assuming there's a windowed option). edit: After 2 and a half hours of searching this thread fixed it. Hopefully this Reddit thread will help point anyone else with this issue in the right direction. [link] [comments]

Could I get a quick overveiw of the AI persona core when installed in a pawn? Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:11 AM PDT I looked at the wiki, but it seems pretty outdated. Now, I know that when you install it in a colonist, it makes them have mental breaks every few days. But, I don't know any details. Is it just sad wandering? Luciferum esque berserk? Something else? Additionally, can you uninstall it without killing the colonist? Oh, and I have EPOE and Reuse, Recycle, Reclam installed. [link] [comments]
