Is this mind blowing to anyone else? I remember me and my friend both getting the game on launch day in 2010, after school. For the next few years the amount of hours we spent playing this game is insane. That summer we would stay up until 1 or 2 in the morning, then wake up at like 6AM to play again all day. Eventually I played the game so much, and my 360 in general, that I ended up having to get a new one because something fucked up in it and it kept overheating. I fucking love Halo Reach. Please do a remaster for it's 10 year anniversary 343.

I remember my first multiplayer experience EVER. I hopped on Halo 3 matchmaking, and was just amazed to be playing with other living breathing people. Imo, one of the best Halo games made, campaign included.

EDIT: It's more of the community that did it for me. I remember in multiplayer lobbies there would always be shitty mics that sounded like they were literally in sewer tunnels, and the custom games. I met most of my online friends from Halo 3. Just feeling nostalgic for it recently, although don't want to play. The fire isn't there anymore.

What if the roles were swapped in Halo 5?

Halo 5's story wasn't an absolute abomination, but if we had more Chief and less Locke, I bet lots would find it better.

Here's how it goes:

  • Chief and Blue Team are tasked with saving Halsey, who was basically their mother figure, and to kill Jul Mdama.

  • Fireteam Osiris gets a signal from Cortana, and convinces them to help her.

  • UNSC decides to send Chief out, since no one knows Cortana better than him. Fireteam Osiris also heads out to Meridian to find her.

  • Blue Team arrives on Meridian, fights Locke, but Locke escapes just in time.

  • The Guardian takes Osiris to Genesis, they get contact from Cortana.

  • Blue Team will need help, and Chief turns to the Arbiter, who he meets back up with.

  • They all head out and Blue Team gets on the Guardian to reach Osiris. They tank through to reach them.

  • Osiris reaches Cortana and tried convincing her to go back. Osiris is held captive.

  • Cortana realizes Chief is there and tries convincing him.

  • Chief and Cortana have a bit of issues while he fights the Prometheans.

  • Ultimately, Chief defies Cortana and saves Osiris, and Exuberant Witness regains control.

Alternatively

  • Cortana discards Osiris from uncooperation, takes Chief instead.

  • Osiris fights and saves the Chief, so same ending.

What do you think? Now, what if it changed just a bit but not much:

  • Blue Team kills Mdama and saves Halsey.

  • Osiris reaches contact with Cortana, UNSC lets Chief take care of it.

  • Chief reaches Genesis without a fight from Osiris, loses contact.

  • UNSC doesn't know what happened to Chief, Osiris is sent to help him.

  • Osiris meets the Arbiter, yada yada, gets on the Guardian to reach Chief.

  • Chief fights his way to Cortana. Realizes she won't cooperate.

  • Osiris saves the Chief in the end, having a similar ending.

Anyone else feel like the AI uprising story came out of nowhere?

When playing or reading Halo I never felt like AIs had a hard time other then inside the Covenant where they were purposefully made dumb to prevent things like Medicant Bias from happening again. I could understand if the uprising came from their section of the Galaxy and Cortana was just the person who lit the fire, possibly even throwing some callbacks to her AI death battle from before but it feels like this story came swiftly from nowhere.

Cortana seemed like she was a well respected and valued person aboard The Pillar and throughout the series. Johnson and any other marines seemed to take orders from her. Even in Halo 3 Johnson was happy to see her again despite her showing no affection towards him he still showed it to her. So I find it a bit hard to think she'd think humans view her as a tool. Hell, MC and Thel quite literally when into Hell to save her.

In the novels there are times AI are treated like garbage but that's mostly by garbage people who've done the same things to other people as well.

The only time I've ever seen someone be unnecessarily mean to an AI was the Halo legends tale where Oni tried to capture the flood to weaponize it. The captain aboard his ship seemed to be a dick to his AI companion for a brief moment.

Other then that one moment I can't recall anyone at all going out of their way to hate AI. It seems like everyone loves Roland or at the very least doesn't hate him and Virgil was so valued that Sadie saw him as a member of her family and had a military extraction effort to save him.

I haven't talked much about this topic outside of my typical group but it's a very odd one to think about. We've seen nothing but extreme care and importance put on AI in Halo for seemingly too many to rebel in Halo 5.

I personally feel like the story should of went over the AI life span. Example, Cortana finds the AI fountain of youth and desires for all AI to do so. Someone (probably an Oni dickhead) says no and provokes her into action. That'd seem more in line with the canon. Also, what happened to the Assembly?

Could MCC become even bigger?

Some of you might know what I'm suggesting. This is something that, if pulled off correctly, could make the game unlike any other collection game and the ultimate fan service.

In time, could MCC possibly become a home for ODST Firefight, Reach in its entirety and Halo 5 once Halo 6 has been out for a while? Could it also be the home for Halo 3 Anniversary when that eventually happens? I know that right now all of that is probably way too big of an expectation and project to take on but wouldn't this be what everyone wants? Isn't this the ultimate endgame for preserving Halo's legacy?

A place for all FPS Halo games to exist fully intact (besides whatever the newest one is) and to be able to play MCC on all future gen Xboxes. Is this even possible?

No joke, my halo 5 said this, and I have it digitally. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall, but it won't let me. It just keeps saying "install stopped". Anyone else having / had this issue?

When its implied that Master chief activated the halo rings in Combat evolved. In the level o Two Betrayals. Its always confused me what he meant when he implied that master chief was with him from the previous firing of the halo rings billions of years ago.
