Back in TGT the tavern brawl right before the expansion hit was themed around inspire and used some of the new cards. It was great. Everyone's hype was at its peak but we couldn't open our cards yet but we were all dying to play with them. That tavern brawl let us do that when we most wanted to. It let everyone experience the expansion whether you could afford cards like Justicar or not, we got to play on the new board every game and explore all it had to offer. We played cards that let's face it we never would have played like lowly squire. It was great. But it hasn't been done since. We patch our games and all the new cards are in the client but all we can do is look at their flavor, which is granted cool. But we could be doing so much more. I know tavern brawls like that aren't easy, so I say this ahead of time. Please Blizzard, please please please bring back the expansion themed tavern brawls before the expansion.

Edit: For those who weren't here during TGT I will elaborate more on the brawl and why it was so fun. Firstly, here is the link to the brawl for those who weren't here. It was two pre-made decks which featured some of the new cards but nowhere near enough to spoil it for us. All of the cards at this point were revealed so the patch didn't cause any spoilers.

The cards that were in the brawls were on a pretty low power level, almost none of those cards ever saw constructed play. It in no way helped us figure out the meta because those cards were used only against each other. We've all seen a card and thought it would be fun only if the other player was playing something fun too, that's what this brawl was. No one could play aggro decks against your new cool cards because they had no choice but to play bad new cards too.

It was for reference available 5 days before the expansion which I think is too much. It should be less. But the idea that this ruined the expansion isn't true. Yes back then the dump happened further away from the expansion's release and so too did the patch so there was more time. But generally today the patch happens on a Tuesday we have a brawl on Wednesday (which recently have been unrelated to the expansion and been a bummer) and the expansion releases on that Thursday. Playing a select few cards like maybe a Baku vs Greymane brawl wouldn't ruin the expansion in my opinion, but make us more hyped and give us the opportunity to play cards we otherwise wouldn't like blackwald pixie and clockwork automaton in the same deck.

They really ruin the reveal seasons since everybody is refreshing "rising" page to check new cards. I have no problem with custom cards out of reveal periods.
