| The best legendary in Fallout 4. Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:16 AM PDT |
| Posted: 30 Mar 2018 08:52 AM PDT I know, I know. In a world that has nearly been obliterated, "tragic characters" is a reeeaaaal broad category. But seriously. Who do you think are the most tragic character(s) in the FO universe? It could even be your character, provided their story is heartwrenching. Me? Vera Keyes and Boone. Tough choice. | In mothership zeta, you could fire the death laser at earth. Does anyone know where it hit? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 09:40 AM PDT I just finished the DLC, super fun. But I noticed you could shoot the planet when trying to shut the laser off. Does anyone know where it hit? Was a pretty big boom. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:07 AM PDT My biggest complaint with Fallout 4 is the hunting rifle. Just to be clear, this isn't a bashing Fallout 4 post, it was a great game. But in all of the other games I've played ,3/NV/4, my favorite weapon was the hunting rifle. In 3, it was an early staple of most play throughs. In NV when it could be modded with a scope, made it it easily my favorite gun. But now in 4 when I pick up the hunting rifle, the bolt is on the left side of the gun! I know it's minor but that's so annoying. In all of the other games, the bolt is on the right side of the rifle, which maybe I'm wrong but I think that's how most rifles are made, too. I play in 3rd person, so between every shot I watch him go through the cumbersome movement of bolting the rifle with his barrel hand and remain holding the rifle with his trigger hand. Also when you scope it the name changes to "sniper rifle" not "hunting rifle." I know, minor, but it's the small things. Edit: Fixed the left/right situation [link] [comments] |
| How can settlement building be improved for Fallout 5? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:24 AM PDT For one, I think Fallout 4 went overkill with the settlement building. It should have gave you more invective or a loftier purpose to build. The more efficiently you build up your settlements, the more interesting NPCs you unlock, as new quest givers with interesting stories and dilemmas, who move into your settlements. For example, if you build up Sanctuary's defense to a certain level, Joe Schoenfeld, an NPC, looking for his wife would come to Sanctuary and give you a quest "Hometown Hero". Joe explains how he and his wife, Maggie Poudre got separated during a raider fight. He explains how Maggie was always fond of gardening, hinting you to plant crops to make her appear. Joe rewards you information about a secret stash containing a unique power armor. This location is randomized and the armor only appears when you start the quest. Obviously, the quest would be way more fleshed out then what I described, but you get the idea. If cool rewards, more quest and even certain endings depended on you building settlements, it would be easy more entertaining. [link] [comments] |
| You're Courier Six. Caesar has called you to his tent, despite what you've done. Posted: 30 Mar 2018 02:07 PM PDT Caesar berates you for all the plans you have foiled of his, the Monorail, the Gommorha, Nelson, Cottonwood Cove, the Van Graffs. Despite all this, he calls you to his tent and gives you his mark to protect you from harm on your way there. The Legionaries sneer at you as you walk through The Fort, but know any action done to you will be met with swift punishment, likely death. What is your reply as he asks you why you stand before him? You can use any skill from the game or perk for a check, but make it unique as you can. I'll give an example. Courier: [Fight the Power!] "Death to Tyrants." ((Edit: I totally forgot that the Death to Tyrants line was a base game thing.)) [link] [comments] |
| What is your favorite epic Fallout moment? (Spoilers to some quests) Posted: 30 Mar 2018 11:25 AM PDT Scripted or not, what was the coolest moment you ever had? I just had mine. I was exploring Far Harbor, when I had to reload a save (Darn trappers!) and I suddenly got a quest "Shipbreaker"(Spoilers ahead). I tune into the radio signal and start trying to find the source. I see a Fog Crawler and start trying to avoid it, but as I move away the signal gets weaker... I target it in VATS and low and behold, that Fog Crawler is my target. Now, this thing is insane, I'm only level 20, and this a high-level legendary Fog Crawler, so I'm cautious (aka terrified). I start fighting this thing and I am doing nothing to it, my two shot lever action rifle dealing over 90 damage is like a squirt gun. So I'm unloading into this thing, but I know I WILL die in one hit, so I have to be really careful. I end up in the same spot as where I hid from the Mirelurk queen during the Captian's dance. So at this point, I'm running low on ammo for all my guns and its only about 2/3rds dead (It did mutate). So I'm 100% of ammo and explosives, so I make a desperate run to Echo Lake Lumber, which is at this point a settlment of mine (A settlement I did nothing to, which has nothing). I 'borrow' a crappy gun from a settler, which does nothing, so I'm running out of ideas. I have to keep running at it in order to keep it from running away. Then I get an idea, I can make some turrets to assist in the war effort! I run around scrapping tons of stuff to make a turret. Eventually, I make another turret, so now all I have to do is make sure it runs near them and doesn't leave. Overall, killing this thing took a whole inagme day, and much of the night. I started in the morning and ended at like 2 in the morning (ingame of course). In the end, it goes farther away and is killed by some anglers. Honestly, I'm not doing it justice by making this long-winded story. tl;dr I took on a high-level Fog Crawler at low levels and had to get really creative to handle it. [link] [comments] |

| The tallest buildings in Fallout Posted: 29 Mar 2018 09:44 PM PDT I thought it was a little odd no one had ever calculated the heights of the tallest buildings in the 3D fallout games. Or at-least ever posted the results that I could find. So naturally I did just that, with the IRL equivalents for comparison: Using the "getpos z" console command, and the gamebryo/creation engine unit to inch conversion rate of 64 units = 3 feet, I found the following: Fallout 3Washington Monument Topmost height = 499 feet / 152 meters IRL height = 555 feet / 169 meters Tenpenny Tower Roof height = 213 feet / 65 meters Full height = 239 feet / 73 meters Altitude = 82 feet /25 meters bellow the Washington monument Fallout NVLucky 38 Roof height = 385 feet / 117 meters Full height = 420 feet / 128 meters IRL Las Vegas Stratosphere height = 1150 feet / 350 meters Fallout 4Trinity Tower Roof height = 386 feet / 118 meters Full height = 490 feet / 150 meters Full altitude = 532 feet / 162 meters over sealevel IRL John Hancock tower height = 790 feet / 240 meters Mass Fusion Roof height = 411 feet / 125 meters Full Height = 521 meters /159 meters Full Altitude = 530 feet / 162 meters IRL One Boston Place height = 601 feet / 183 meters over sea level In all cases, the imperial measurement is more accurate. | Posted: 30 Mar 2018 09:23 AM PDT So i noticed that online i could find recipes for nuka cola quantum, regular nuka cola, nuka cherry and even nuka cola victory, but there was no nuka quartz recipe! So i made my own. To make it youre gonna need rockstar zero: silver ice Gatorade frost (white gatorade) And any clear soda, i used mountain dew ice as it was the first i could find but it is limited time so i hope i can find a more permanent one. I made 3 21 oz drinks drom just one bottle of each. I used 7oz mountain dew ice, 5oz rockstar, and 9 oz of the gatorade for each. It tasted pretty good and it definitely looked the part! Enjoy everyone! [link] [comments] |
| Lets write a fallout scenario/game Posted: 30 Mar 2018 09:52 AM PDT I thought it might be fun to start a thread dedicated to the idea of creating a fan made fallout game so lets make the most of this before the mods take it down. | FO4 Survival Mode - What DON'T you like about it? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 01:34 PM PDT I see a lot of praise for this feature and am well aware of its benefits over the other difficulties, but I'm curious to know, what did you dislike about it and why? My biggest gripe with it is that I actually find it hinders my ability to explore. Of course I am finding some things that I missed in my last save and not having fast travel leads me into some interesting territory, but because all it takes is one misplaced step to lose an hour of progress I actually find myself less inclined to explore buildings from top to bottom. Usually I'm just looking for the nearest bed and that's it. The security of quicksave actually made me feel more free to explore the world to its fullest. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 30 Mar 2018 09:28 AM PDT So I'm not sure if I'm just playing through too quickly or need to have less distractions while I'm playing but I'm pretty dependent on Oxhorn's Youtube channel to understand the complete story of any vault or building where the story unfolds through terminal entries and notes. For instance, Vault 11 I never got that the bodies in the entryway were so relevant to the story. Any suggestions for getting a better understanding of the whole story? [link] [comments] |
| What if Ulysses succeeded in nuking the Mojave? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 02:20 PM PDT Despite the idea of nuking an already war-torn wasteland again being a pretty insane idea... I think there's a pretty good chance he could be correct. All the factions in NV are corrupted in one way or another. Even the NCR, which is arguably the best choice for the wasteland, is extremely oppressive. If only his plan didn't cause the death of many innocent people... [link] [comments] |

| 'War Never Changes' theme in future games. Posted: 30 Mar 2018 01:52 AM PDT The idea that WNC is probably one of my favourite concepts in stories and I like how even in the hazardous environment of Fallout, everyone is still waging war over their own ideologies. My personal thought when I first met the Legion was that they are the new Red Scare, a danger to Old World American ideals and what not. How do you guys think it will be implemented in future games? | Is this a good melee build for survival? (F04) Posted: 30 Mar 2018 11:38 AM PDT Assuming I rush for the bobbleheads ASAP, is this build going to work? Here's my thoughts: S: 9+1+1 With special book for obvious reasons P: 1+1 I won't be using anything out of this tree E:6+1 As to get adamantium skeleton, toughness, life giver C:1+1 haven't decided whether or not I want lone wanderer, may put a point in while leveling I: 1+1 gives me access to medic, I won't be using power armor or chems so I'm disregarding the later perks A: 8+1 gives me access to blitz so I can close the gap, won't be doing much sneaking though L: 2+1 gets me bloody mess and I won't be relying much on critical hits [link] [comments] |

| “FALLOUT: The Voyager” An Original Fallout Story W/ Synopsis and FAQ Posted: 30 Mar 2018 07:25 AM PDT Hi everyone! Yesterday I gathered a lot of attention about creating a book or series of books dedicated to fallout and I'm proud to present the first synopsis of the first book called "Fallout: The Voyager" I hope you all enjoy and after reading the synopsis. I will be providing more information for the books at the bottom of the post. Enjoy! FALLOUT THEME BEGINS War. War never changes. It was the year 2077 when the bombs fell, aiming not only to begin The Great War but to end humanity as we know it. Two hours is all it took to push mankind to the edge of extinction but those who did not fall off the edge and parish in thick flames of atomic fire survived in Vaults. These fallout facilities would show to aid in the survival of humanity while also seeking to preserve it...or so we thought. Two centuries have passed and the year is now 2281, A Pre War Ghoul knew as "The Voyager" has returned home to the Lone Star state that is Texas and in the wake of his return is a war between factions all fighting to push each other out. Some want to do good for their state, others want to do bad, and the rest want to make it really ugly. Join The Voyager in his long journey of fighting through what could be a landmark in modern wasteland history. FALLOUT THEME ENDS I hope you all enjoyed that quick read. If you couldn't tell I tried to fit in the monologue feel you get when you first open up the game. Short, sweet, iconic, informing, and of course just as if it's another Fallout. Now I do want to clear some stuff up about this book or books with an FAQ. FAQ Q1: Is this going to be a book or series of books? A1: As of now I would like to make it one book for The Voyager storyline but I am willing to turn it into a series of books. Short stories are likely as well and will come eventually if Voyager does well with the community. Q2: Am I a fallout history buff? A2: No I am not but that doesn't mean I'm going to screw this up. Everyone knows in Fallout there are blank spaces especially when comes to locations around the world after the Great War but I'm working hard to make sure these stories are as lore friendly as possible. Q3: What is your goal with these books? A3: I am purely doing this for fun. I'm not trying to make money off of Bethesda's or Obsidian's hard work. These stories are for the community to read and enjoy. They are not canon. Hypothetically, if something were to happen where Bethesda decides to take ownership of my stories by either buying them from me or saying I can't use there stuff then that's the end of that. Both scenarios are very unlikely as of March 30th, 2018. These are for fun, not money. Q4: When will these books be available to read? A4: As of March 30th, 2018, "Fallout: The Voyager" is still being written and won't be finished as soon as you think. Q5: What about legal issues? A5: It is still too early to worry about legal issues. I don't expect to run into any trouble while making this seeing as I'm not making money off their success and I'm not taking ownership of their hard work. All credit goes to them, not me, and that will be made clear in the books. Q6: Where can I read them? A6: I'm going to be posting the stories on Wattpad. It's the easiest way to post these books for everyone to read and for me to stay out of legal trouble. I can frequently update the books when I finish a new chapter or I could post a new book entirely at once. Q7: Is this real? A7: Yes I am going to do this. A lot of things have been pretty disappointing for fallout these past years (at least for me) and I wanna give back to the community. I just hope people like it. LetModdersFinishYourGamesAgainQ8: Fallout 5? A8: If Fallout 5 or any other MAJOR Fallout game is announced at E3 2018 and it's confirmed to be released as soon as late 2018 to early 2019, I would like to make a poll for the books. The poll is if I should continue to write without the knowledge of the new Fallout or write with the knowledge of the new Fallout. Whichever has the majority vote I will do. As for the new Fallout, if it is in Texas, I will make another poll on to either continue or cancel "Fallout: The Voyager" and I probably won't cancel it depending on how far I've gotten with the writing process. Those are all the major questions I can think of that everyone will ask. If there are any other questions let me know in the comments. Edit: excuse any of my grammar or spelling mistakes. I usually write on my computer not on my phone will edit later. [link] [comments] |
