| I'm sure this is old to you guys, but. Posted: 30 Mar 2018 05:28 PM PDT I just finished my train provided mall. And I have a train waiting station. It won't ask for a train unless items in buffer chests are low. Then it'll send a train carrying that item to my mall. Otherwise it goes a different route. Same with my smelter array won't ask for raw input unless the chests at the drop off are getting empty. I have no one to brag to and I'm pretty happy about it. [link] [comments] | ||
| Achievement for riding a rocket Posted: 30 Mar 2018 02:47 PM PDT I had an idea recently thinking about the Falcon Heavy launch. I don't know if this has been suggested, but if you ride a car in a rocket to space, you should get an achievement. Some names could include Starman or Life on Mars (song played during the event). What do you think? Again, I don't know if this has been suggested here before or not. Edit: Shares similarities with "So long and thanks for all the fish!" [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 30 Mar 2018 08:10 AM PDT Imgur album: https://imgur.com/a/ceabZ After a couple frustrating attempts at trying to do a good 1k+ SPM base, and wanting to do a moderately belt-centric one in light of .16's upgrades, I finally have something I'm happy with. The base is able to sustain just a hair over 2k SPM, and is generally fairly simple with few frills. There's no circuit logic, or complicated train grid or anything. Just a simple 2-lane point-to-point train network carting the ingredients for science/rocket parts from an outpost that mines+manufactures them, straight to their destination, and little else on the track (i.e. there's only one case of an intermediate product being carted to an outpost that makes another intermediate product). It's nothing particularly hair-raising, but I like having the finished product made, and settling down on something very simple and direct compared to previous webs I had made in the past (even if a large part of that is the 0.16 improvements allowing for about 60 full belts each of electronic circuits, copper ore, iron ore, copper plate, and iron plate, to be running without costing 30ms/update all by themselves). | Why can we blueprint buildings we havent researched, but not recipes for assembly machines? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 05:00 PM PDT While it obviously should dissapear if you build it while its not available yet to set, i think it should be possible to see it. It itches my mind when i set down an early game mall and see some of the assembly machines in the blueprint missing their item. [link] [comments] | ||

| Looks like factorio is heading for 1.0 release. Do we now what's their next project? Posted: 30 Mar 2018 02:53 PM PDT They did such a great job with this game. I'm wondering what's next for them. I hope they stay within the same or similar genre such as base building, RTS or tycoon type of games. [link] [comments] | ||
| Feature Request - Make Blue Prints Actionable Posted: 30 Mar 2018 06:33 PM PDT OK, not sure the best or ideal use of this, but my idea to allow blueprints to become "active" when a certain network criteria is met. For instance, a remote mining outpost can "pack-up" by activating a stored bluepint (in this case the big red one) when the iron is gone. Not sure if this is best done by a new object or making a change to the Roboport. Also, what about Roboports for locomotives? How about an option (like the satellite option in a rocket) to allow cargo wagon to be upgraded with logistic chests? Let's discuss. [link] [comments] |
