I just installed a 29mb patch and lost at least 1 fps per megabyte.

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 04:44 AM PST

What the fuck? Why does this keep happening? The gameplay is improved but the fps is reduced gradually. It's not the first time a patch has made the performance even more potato..

I played 2 games before I saw the update, and those two were perfectly fine. I then updated and played 2 more and it was absolute horseshit.

I have a $1600 computer and I had 40fps when I dropped Pecado. NOT OKAY BLUEBALLS.

Actually I lost even more than 1 fps per megabyte. That's some next level bullshit.

EDIT: To not cause any confusion I should've stated that it is a higher end somewhat newly built PC rather than just saying the price.

EDIT2: My PC specs are:

i7 7700K

GTX 1070

16gb DDR4

My specs isn't the point of this post, clearly I'm not the only one having issues and that should be the only thing focused on here. Game ran perfectly fine before that small update, a window of 2 mins where it went from good to bad which is all info needed.

Are you affected by poor performance as a result of Windows Fall Creators Update (1709)?

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 09:53 AM PST

Hello, i saw this on other reddit and as i am affected on this and several other games, the OP of that post asked me to share and, as this is a big community, if we can make people aware of this, maybe it will be shared-known enough to get it fixed once and for all. https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/7uywsl/stuttering_fps_drops_lag_problems_probably_you/

Here is an slighty adapted version of his post.

Hello all again,

In short:

1 If you have stutters on several games and have not been able to find a solution you are probably affected by this. If you have not get stutters yet, don't get worried. This affects PUBG amongst many other games. 2 It affects random hardware-software configurations, so no rules (yet) to know why some have stutters and others don't. We can't fix it by ourselves. 3 Stutters on games (PUBG) are generated by Windows mainly after Creators Update (nothing changed after Fall's Update) but some people report to have them on other versions of Windows (before CU, 7, 8, etc. but less often). Windows seems to be the "base" of the problem. -Some comments on the linked post suggest a recent Windows update (~3 weeks) has brought stutters to people didn't have before. 4 NVIDIA drivers add a layer of horrible stutters on some games. It affects several generations of NVIDIA cards (mainly 10XX, but also 9XX, 7XX, unsure about 6XX) and several versions of Windows. 5 AMD cards have stutters too but they seem not that bad; although i tried a RX580 (a few days) with same setup on CoD Infinite Warfare and it had really bad stutters, but still not what NVIDIA gets. On other games (CSGO, KF2,...) they get same micro-stutters than NVIDIA (even with an old AMD 6870). 6 Still some games can have stutters, so if just 1 game, try to find fixes for it. 7 Not fixed yet, and being forgotten by Microsoft and NVIDIA and everybody else. 8 We need this to be known to get it fixed and warn affected people.

Introduction:

As this is an unknown and, on the other hand, widespread problem, i think a lot of subreddits can benefit from this, so feel free to copy paste.

Summary and update of old thread:

After Costin from NVIDIA confirmed stutters were because of their drivers (1), Microsoft acknowledged stutters on Windows 10 after Creators Update (2 and 3).

NVIDIA on this thread (4 -useful to follow the evolution of this issue-) with ManuelGuzmanNV asked to report stutters to Microsoft using the Windows Feedback Hub (5) to try to find the source. Since then nothing has changed.

Tests and "fixes"

Try lowest posible settings and check if stutters are present. Check if hardware-software works fine (find games without stutters and make sure temps are ok) and if they are fine just wait for a fix and stop wasting money and time as you will not be able to fix it by yourself (but if you do, please, post here). In the meantime spread this as much as you can.

By now the only """fix""" that seems to work for a lot of people (not all) is to go to any Windows before Creators Update (if on 10, blocking updates). There are minor "fixes" that work for some on the archived thread (1) and on the NVIDIA forums thread (4) if you want to try.

Good luck ;) .

TL;DR: Microsoft acknowledged Windows (mainly after CU) make games stutter, and NVIDIA drivers add a layer of huge stutters on some games. AMD cards can stutter too but not that much. Not fixed yet after 6 months. Spread this to help to fix it (on PUBG too)!

New Update

Posted: 07 Feb 2018 04:56 AM PST

I feel like the optimization changed with the latest update. I used to get 100-120FPS averages with my 1060 and now I'm lucky to get 60FPS. I run Medium settings across the board, with the exception of view distance at ultra and foliage at very low.

Edit: the update got rolled back, and the game seems to run better now!

Buff Shotguns or decrease their spawn rate and increase SMG's

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 08:55 PM PST

Shotguns are so pathetically inconsistent that they're useless. You might one tap them or you might shoot them 5 times and only take half their health. Either buff them to make them more consistent or increase the spawn rate of SMG's and spawn fewer shotguns.

Can we talk about how the VSS is the best weapon in the game.

Posted: 06 Feb 2018 03:05 PM PST

Here are a few key points:

  • Ammo can be found everywhere, even if a building is already looted

  • Comes with Scope with easy to understand range finding

  • Only has 2 attachment slots that you don't need to use for the weapon to be effective, but they are great to have.

  • No one can hear you. Its the only true silenced weapon in the game.

  • Has auto fire. Get caught off guard and you can let it rip.

  • Top 3 situations, kill an enemy and the last guy has no clue.

  • Laugh as your target dances around a tree trying to figure out where they are getting shot from.

VSS is Best. Become a VSS Supporter today!

Edit: If a mod sees this, is there any chance we can get the weapons in the game as flair? I'm asking for a friend.
