Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

Do you enjoy watching streamers? Do you wish there was an easier way to find new up-and-coming streamers beyond the well-known, established Twitch goliaths?

Do you have a stream yourself? Are you looking to get exposure but not sure how given how Twitch displays streams and how one-shot stream promotion posts on Reddit tend to get ignored? Is anyone still reading these questions?

This thread is for you!

If you are a streamer or know of a cool, lesser-known (read: doesn't regularly pull in 1K+ viewers) streamer feel free to post the URL and a short, informative pitch about why you feel others would be interested to watch it. Why should someone watch your suggested stream rather than one of the hundreds of other streams out there?

The next great streamer might be just one comment away.

Blizzard: only one quest completition notification displays even thought I complete 2 or 3 at a time. Why?

This used to work well before like 2 or 3 patches ago but now its driving me crazy... please help me with my OCD.

EDIT: I meant quest progress notification. Even though I progress in 2 or all 3 at a time only one notification shows. This is the one I'm talking about: https://imgur.com/a/Xyz3M

Why isn't hearthstone more friendly towards little spenders?

Since when adventures were gone, little spenders have basically no option to spend money. Investing 5-10 euros in packs is the worst feeling ever because the odds are you are gonna get 40dust worth of dupes a pack. That feels bad enough when you spend 100g for it, spending actual money to get literally the worth of a common is abysmal. Also the cosmetic rewards are very few, and arguably not worth the money (but this might just be personal taste).

For 10 dollars in a game like league of legends i can get a skin that changes a lot of my play experience, hero protraits in hearthstone only change your hero power, and do nothing to change your spell animations (change 2 animations on basic spells at least..). Not to mention that in other games cosmetic rewards get constantly added to the game and frequently put on sale while this basically never happens in hs.

While a model like this might be friendly to whales, it pushes little spenders into going full f2p, in particular now that adventures (which were the ultimate spend-a-little-to-get-something-good) are gone, you either spend 50-100$ and it feels somewhat acceptable, or you don't spend anything at all.

I get it that if you buy 10 packs and you get nothing it builds towards your pity timer so you get a legendary sooner, but it just feels awful to farm cards that way.

If you think ya gunna have a crack at snagging some free packs in the "quest for bloody packs" promo, well ya bloody dreamin c#nt. Our little island down here at the arse end of the world aint on the list. So go back to the usual 3 day quest fest with the rest of the ineligible wankers.

Suggestions for next years quest for packs (or equivalent)

This latest event is such a good concept but a couple issues (IMO) keep it from shining.

1) You can't tell when quests count towards a new day.
2) The vast majority of people get nothing out of it except the ability to buy the mammoth pack. While the mammoth pack is awesome... it being the only thing for most (as a paid item) is not great.

The fix for both is incredibly simple though. For the 2 week period swap all daily quests with special ones themed at the prev years sets. For example Clear 3 dungeon runs or play 4 death knight cards (since everyone got one free). These quest rewards would be amped up (higher gold count... maybe a pack or arena ticket) and you could dump the daily requirement too since you can only get the quests during the event anyway. You get an entry for each one you do during the event duration. This would solve both issues while providing some fun new and exciting quests.

Further I would suggest bumping the lowest tier prize to 9 packs (3 of each set) and make a participant prize below it for completing ten of the special unique quests during the promotion. The prize would be one pack from each set. That way everyone gets something if they do the event.

Mage secret tip for idiots like me

Just played a Secret Mage who had two secrets in play.

I assumed one was Mirror Entity as both Counterspells had been used.

I had Amara in hand to heal back up to 40 but didn't want to give my opponent a free 8/8 taunt, so passed a turn to draw a minion I didn't mind my opponent copying.

I drew a Mana Wyrm (from Archbishop Benedictus) next turn so chucked it out, and Explosive Runes triggered, killing the Wyrm.

Assuming that since nothing happened that meant the other secret was Ice Block, I played Amara, and THEN Mirror Entity triggered.

So basically, if the first secret triggered kills the minion, Mirror Entity DOESN'T trigger.

I think it should, looking at the card text, but it doesn't.

Which was annoying.

My Shifter Zerus turned into a Corridor Creeper, which then turned into a Murloc Warleader, it kept the mana reduction.

Probably an unpopular opinion on this sub, but I'm going to miss the tri-class discovery cards when Gadgetzan rotates out. They capture the true RNG-based nature of Hearthstone, seeing highlight videos of what is possible when you combine two different classes' synergies.

As much as Kripp might hate them, they also give arena a more varied experience. It's awesome when an arena game becomes an unexpected journey (e.g. discovering an Uther of the Ebon Blade as a Hunter and pulling off the Exodia to win the game, or something like that)

Renounce Darkness doesn't turn you into druid

So it might be just me being paranoid but: I only play renounce warlock(in wild if it matters), I've played 285 games since January 1 and I have never renounced into druid! Not even once. Of course I don't use renounce in every game, so let's say I used it 200 times. The probability of druid not showing once is (7/8)200 ~= 2e-12. Is anyone else having this issue?

Some new bugs were discovered recently: Sir Finley doesn't discover Druid in some classes. Renounce doesn't turn you into the Druid Class. The last time we had bugs like this was after Tyrande entered the game.

What does this mean? They MUST be prepping for a new Druid alt Hero!!
