Fallout - Is anyone else terrified of Ghouls in 4?

Is anyone else terrified of Ghouls in 4?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:20 AM PST

The way they run, the fact that they crawl out of every corner, the fact that every area they're in is dark and creepy. I am so irrationally afraid of ghouls in 4. Every time I know I'm going into somewhere with ghouls, I take my power armour and I basically sneak around and spam VATS trying to find them.

The one thing I’ve never seen talked about with fallout 4

Posted: 14 Feb 2018 08:55 PM PST

I recently started a new play through, and watched the intro video again, and it dawned on me just how good that video is, and no one seems to mention it. I mean it delivers the iconic war never changes line and it makes that flow perfectly into the character creation. It sets the story up for anyone who has never played a fallout game before, it tells the back story quickly and pretty well. And I guess that this is really the first time I've really noticed all this.

3D Printed Deathclaw

I 3D printed and painted a Deathclaw for my brother over Christmas. I've never done any figure painting before but it was a blast!

The Falsehood of Shaunism

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 06:27 AM PST

So something I have noticed is that one of the biggest and most common beefs with fo4 is Shaun. In fact I am seeing it so much, with so much passionate hate, that I am calling it Shaunism.

So you don't like Shaun or his general existence because it: ruins rp, turns you into a blubbering concerned parent, ruins the story in every conceivable way, etc.

First off, none of that is true. If you spout off about these then you clearly didn't put enough time into exploring dialogue options, because there are other motivations. Revenge for your dead wife, simply wanting to know who did this, and, if you have nuka world, going absolutely nuts and becoming the leader of a raider army.

Second, say what you will about how it affects the story, but there are several really cool things that they did, such as the reveal that your son is actually like 60. That his DNA, and by extension your DNA was used to perfect synths. That your scientist raised scientist son who never had a father, can barely express real emotion and tells you that this was all an experiment.

While all of you may hate Shaun, (you damn Shaunists) there is a lot of cool things about him and how they worked it.

Disclaimer: I also wasn't a huge fan of Shaun but for entirely different reasons than stated in this post, the nature of the post is to inspire a new commentary on Shaun, maybe in a more positive light or even just new reasons to not like him. Thank you, and have a nice day crapping on an old man.

[FO4] How would the farmers feel about having their farms taken and turned into communities?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 10:38 AM PST

People like Blake Abernathy, who has had that farm in his family for generations, Finch farm, etc.

What would these farmers feel in a real life situation, even with the Minutemen if the general came and turned their personally owned farm into a community?

Would it be an acceptable thing in the fallout universe to do? Is it ok to go and take farm land and make them into outposts for guards, communities for families, etc?

Does anyone else wish that some settlers had backstories?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 12:37 PM PST

I was thinking maybe, that maybe one settler was a former raider and they are mortified by their previous actions and thank the sole survivor for letting them in the settlement or something like that.

How would you like to see the main theme be flipped for F5?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 02:16 AM PST

NV had a more western twist on the Fallout theme, and 4 used heavier pianos and strings to hammer down the personal-focused story.

Obviously it could be dependant on the regional setting, but seeing as we've heard quite a few variations what direction would you like Bethesda to push it for the next game? Personally if it's a return to a dark/bleak atmosphere I'd like to hear it backed with a choir, just something a bit eerie and different to what we've already had

A truly immersive moment in Fallout 4

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 12:59 PM PST

So I just booted up the PS4 for a survival playthrough, and am freshly at the Red Rocket station at level 2, with nothing but a 10mm pistol and a lead pipe. I plop down my sleeping bag and start to sleep, but wake up in the middle of the night. It's pitch black out, but I can unmistakably hear a passing ghoul herd. With my heart pounding, I turned off the radio and sat in a corner waiting for them to pass. Once they faded away into the blackness, it was the most relieving moment of my life. For those wondering I'm using the Spring foliage mod which puts trees everywhere, the npc patrols mod which spawned the ghoul herd, and realistic weather which made it pitch black out. But now I survived one day in the life of Rick Grimes

[FO4] If you could side with any other minor or major faction from any previous Fallout game to complete FO4's main story, which one(s) would you pick?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 11:32 AM PST

Feel free to explain why and speculate on the potential fate of the Commonwealth.

For me, trekking all the way to the Mojave and enlisting the help of Yes Man seems pretty good. Also, nothing could possibly go wrong siding with the Tunnel Snakes.

[FO4] Are legendary minuguns the rarest to find?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:49 PM PST

I've been farming in gunners plaza for hours and i've found every possible tier weapon except railway rifles or miniguns. Are they the hardest to find along with the fat man? (seen 1)

Edit: They're level 94 gunners...

Would it be worth it to get Fallout 4 GOTY on Xbox One?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 07:47 AM PST

To elaborate, I have Fallout 4 on the PS4 and I completed it and all the DLCs. I recently got an Xbox One, and I was wondering if it'd be worth it to buy FO4 again on Xbox One so I have a wider variety of mods to use.

Starting to heavily (new) Fallout 4, looking for a stunning greener mod combination to make the game more vibrant and beautiful.

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 04:19 AM PST

I imagine this has been asked before, and I found an entry but its really old. As mods come out so recently still and fast, I was wondering if anyone has a new combination of Graphic mods. I played it nearly 2 year ago, so I wanna start new and mod it to the point where it feels like almost a new game. Especially with all the new DLC content sweet Would love suggestions of graphical mods which work really well together and gave you an amazing time, any other suggestions are also welcome :)

What would you want in a Fallout game based in Canada?

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:37 PM PST

Note: I am Canadian myself

So far all the locations Fallout has been in are relatively dry places. Yeah, it rains sometimes, but it's still mostly a literal wasteland. So what if we started to add some snow?

Just being a cold region could make the game visually stand out. Since you can't really wear this kind of clothing in Canada, armor and clothing would be vastly different from any other games. Because of this, many of the old factions like the NCR and Brotherhood would probably not be present in Canada, or at least in very small numbers.

Since Canada was annexed only a year before the Great War, things like Super Mutants, Power Armor and generally US technology would extremely rare, and extremely valuable. Canada would have its own set of weapons and tech, but it was no match for prewar America and China.

As a new mechanic, I would like to see a lot of emphasis on the winter. Maybe the war caused winter to last longer or something. It would be something you would generally not want to be in, like a Radiation Storm but cold.

Deathclaws and Radscorpions could be replaced with irradiated Beaver and Geese since those reptiles would probably die in the extreme cold.

These are just random ideas, but I'm curious to see what others can come up with.

Advice for survival in FO4

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 03:10 PM PST

I've tried to get into FO4 on reg mode but I get to diamond city and lose steam. I keep hearing about how survival mode changes the game and I really want to get into this so I'm gonna start survival mode. Does anyone have any tips and advice for me to survive survival mode but also be challenged? Thank you very much in advance.

Fallout 4 on MacBook Air

Posted: 15 Feb 2018 01:59 PM PST

This is probably a stupid question. Here it goes.

Is there any way I can get F4 on a MacBook? I sold my console stuff a while back and I'm really regretting it simply because I can no longer play it. I really don't want to buy another console. Is there any tutorial or something somewhere that will help me set it up on a Mac?
