If you were homeless and had to walk X number of miles to every fight you'd be worn out too. Imagine having to walk 10 miles to the stadium every time you had a football game.

And don't get me started on his diet. I don't know where Ryu finds the funds and supplements to keep his gains (unless he dumpster dives for powder and chicken fried rice at the Gold's Gym X Panda Express) but he has to be feeling flat from the lack of nutrients. Have you ever seen a homeless guy as jacked as Ryu? No. And if you did it was probably Akuma in which case he would probably fight you and you would be dead which makes you a liar.

Can someone call up Ken to set up his guest room(s) or something? This guy needs a fat bowl of pasta and a protein shake yesterday!

Disclaimer: I love fighting games, the FGC, and everything that entails. I am, however, awful at all fighting games.

That said, I feel like a lot of people ("They killed my character!") aren't looking at the big picture. Judging by the scope of those patch notes they appear to have rebalanced the entire game. It doesn't make sense to compare any of those changes to how you play those characters now because AE will be an entirely new sandbox. That's my impression anyway.

Another observation to support this: Zeku and Menat have almost no changes. Why? I don't know for sure, but I would bet they were designed up-front with the season 3/AE rebalance in mind, so they didn't need to be adjusted as much relative to the rest of the cast.

Anyway, I can't wait to play AE. Sakura looked GREAT in the stream today and she was my girl in SFIV. Haven't been this excited about SFV since before it came out.

So how is offense going to be "weaker" exactly in AE?

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 07:17 AM PST

Well no more throw loops is self-explainitory.
But what about the increased pushback on many characters light attacks? Does it mean weaker blockstrings and/or frame traps?

Do all this changes to the hurtboxes of key normals make will make jump-in attempts harder, or easier to anti-air? Making ground neutral more important in the meta?

Will this change help more zoning oriented characters that normally struggle with unga-bunga pressure like Nash, F.A.N.G and Menat benefit from all this and be in a better place in S3?

How do you feel about crowdfunded invitationals?

Posted: 10 Jan 2018 08:11 AM PST

I run a growing annual gaming event in my area (on a cruise ship) that I self fund and it was suggested to me that I should crowdfund an SFV invitational at the event to start an annual series on the ship each year. Too rich for my blood solo RIP.

I don't think it's been done before or my google jutsu is failing to see if it's possible, people really enjoy these and would want it, etc.

I'm not sure how well that would work for us since it would be crazy expensive vs normal events since cruises are crazy expensive but would like to see it happen because it just sounds like alot of fun. I'd like to see what other players think if I am being too pessimitic about it.

So how do you feel about expensive crowdfunded tournaments or invitationals. If you're cool with them can you tell me what you'd expect or like to see in return for your support of that kind of crowdfunded should give backers?

Any specific recommendations on good invitational players for something like this?
