RuneScape Silly Question Sunday - 14 January

Silly Question Sunday - 14 January

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 04:13 PM PST

Silly Question Sunday is a weekly thread in which you can ask your RuneScape-related silly questions:

  • "Newb" questions from new players
  • Questions from returning players
  • Silly or nonsensical questions
  • Questions you feel stupid asking elsewhere

Of course, a question thread wouldn't make much sense without answers, so please help out with any answers that you have!

Something odd with the elite Abyssal Demon

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 04:32 AM PST

I was killing Abyssal demons in Kuradal's dungeon with an aggression potion. Some other guy also went killing next to me. An elite Abyssal demon spawned for him, but got aggressive towards me thanks to my aggresion potion. The odd thing is that the elite creature could attack me, and hit hard, but I couldn't attack it back.

Perhaps it is an idea to make those elite creatures unaggressive to the people it didn't spawn for?

Bounty hunter seriously needs to be addressed. 25+ hours on ironman boosting for a rune pouch, or even longer if actual pking(as if..) isnt fun and shouldnt exist.

Giving hardly-used common parts some use.

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:06 AM PST

Everyone who has trained invention has encountered this. You are trying to get a large amount of a certain component or common parts, while you have a huge stack of other components/parts which only grows and you don't use them, ever.

That's why I suggest 2 other uses for those parts that you'll probably never use, even if there's a couple of perks or devices that use them.

Create uncommon components from common parts.

Just like how you can convert some lower tier items into fewer higher tier ones (D&D tokens, spiritual gems), you can create some uncommon components out of common parts. The created components must have some similarity to the parts used, i.e. Enhancing (made from Clear parts, Smooth parts, Delicate parts, Cover parts and/or Metallic parts) or Swift components (made from Stave parts, Spiked parts, Crafted parts, Head parts) or even Subtle parts (made from Tensile parts, Flexible parts, Stave parts, Crafted parts). You get the idea.
Crafting the uncommon components from common parts shouldn't be cheap either. Several hundreds of parts must be required to craft a single uncommon component. Somewhere in the range of 300-1000, depending on the several different parts required. Now I am not an economic expert, but I do know this would go against the whole 'Item Sink' purpose that Invention was intended for. However, the proces from common parts to uncommon parts shouldn't impact that item sink economy as much as suggesting the creation of rare components from uncommon components. This is open for discussion.

Sell excess parts/components to an Invention NPC for additional Invention XP, coins or a small Invention reward box containing some Invention-related goodies.

You as the player aren't the only person who discovered Invention. The NPC's such as Doc or Oldak also work at it, but they also need parts and components to work with. You can sell your excess parts/components to them and in return you receive some coins, Invention XP or a reward bag with Invention items (gizmos, devices, random components etc). Now the reward could be based on what you sold to the NPC's. Otherwise, a parts --> reward ratio similar to Vic's XP --> reward points could be implemented where some parts yield a higher reward. What are your thoughts on this idea?

Allow large solo Dungeoneering

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:28 AM PST

Simple and easy. Make it so an individual isn't limited to spawning small or medium floors alone. Although for current records you'd still need 4 fills to compete with the unofficial category of solos, it would make for a better variety of training for all accounts. Everyone dislikes rushing, and for those who cannot find teams or must exclusively dungeoneer alone, this is a good alternative to making every floor worthwhile. Also opens a window for another potential category to official dungeoneering "records" (newer titles) which heightens the competition and gives players more options. No harm for any mode of account, and hardly any overpowered benefit due to xp rates being directly affected by skill and balanced by extended time spent.

Seekers' RDT access got nerfed?

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 05:27 AM PST

Those who camped seekers should know it well: they very often hit RDT and super rare part of it particularly.
It was so until today.
I've done 578 kills today in 3 trips. RDT drops for all trips were the same bad. Here are RDT drops for the most recent trip (199 kills) https://i.imgur.com/p7SMsUj.png (+3 rune platebody). No valuable RDT drops in 578 kills at all.
So seekers are no longer great for valueable RDT drops hunting :(

Also I'm not yet sure but charms' droprate was probably nerfed as well.
Probably it was very unlucky 578 kills. I switched to POD and got 33 charms in 323 kills.

My seekers killcount is over 9500.

3% bonus from clan avatar still doesn't work on Hefin agility course.

Jmods have been made aware of it in 2015, but we haven't been given an answer if its intentional or a bug. Would be nice to not miss out on any xp while on the course, since it also affects the xp you gain from silverhawks.

Nex for Nihil Tasks

Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:27 AM PST

Since the Magister can be killed instead of soul devourers, I think Nex (and hard mode variant) should be able to be killed instead of Nihil with the same mechanics(slayer helmet doesn't work but still gains slayer exp per kill)

Suggestion: Revitalize older guilds such as the Legend's Guild to be easily accessible and useful

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 02:45 PM PST

Give the Cape of Legends a teleport to the Legend's Guild and possibly put a boss/skilling portal (or something else useful) on the top floor of the guild. This would give lower levels increased access to content that is noticeably annoying to get to without max portal.

Jagex please work together with Nvidea GeForce Now

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 07:25 PM PST

So there is this program called Nvida GeForce Now which basically streams games to your computer. It can run games on Epic/Ultra without any issue.

The thing thats missing is RuneScape. I want to enjoy RuneScape in its ultra settings glory but too bad my Mac can't handle that. It would be amazing for players to play RS on Ultra settings with any laptop or desktop pc to get the full experience of RS.

A lot of games have partnered up already. Fortnite, Call of Duty and even small indie developers have went in. It's all secure too. This would be an AMAZING opportunity for Jagex to implement something like this to get more people playing and more people to even stay playing because it will feel like a whole new polished game instead of always having to play on low settings.

More information about Nvidea GeForce Now can be found here: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/geforce-now/mac-pc/
