| Loot from Jan. 1 - Dec. 31 Araxxor. AMA (10k kc) Posted: 01 Jan 2018 08:09 AM PST Exactly one year ago I decided to keep track of all the rare drops I got from rax. I started the year with approximately 10,000 kc +- 50 kc and I currently have 20,054 kc. My goal was to do roughly 3 hours of rax per day (roughly 10 kills/ hour on average, depending on path) which I have managed to do for the most part of the year. Towards the end I got extremely sick of it and did like 1-2 hours a day. I used primarily mage for the majority of the kills with a few melee kills and practically 0 range kills. Also, I didn't duo any kills because I hate duo. Anyway, here are some stats: Leg Pieces - 229 Eye - 17 Web - 29 Fang - 55 Longest Dry Streak - 297 kc Double Hilt/Leg drop - 13711 kc (this is my only one) Fastest kill time - 3:02 Feel free to ask any questions. Cheers. submitted by /u/TheBigYam [link] [comments] |

| 2017 A year in review of Treasure Trail Updates Posted: 31 Dec 2017 08:05 PM PST While we didn't get the Clue Overhaul this year, we did receive a massive amount of QOL updates that has improved the way players interact with Treasure Trails. I want to take some time to remind players that sometimes its a lot of little updates that really make the difference. This year was not a disappointment because we didn't get the Clue Overhaul. I am very appreciative of all of these updates that have helped shape the Treasure Trail experience into a much healthier, streamlined, and enjoyable content. Major Updates Jan 9th: Memorial to Guthix & Vic the Trader Returns. The Memorial to Guthix brought with it Memory Strands, which can be placed in the coin pouch and offer unlimited teleports to the Piscatoris Hunter Area, a common Elite Clue Scan. This return of Vic brought with it the first availability to purchase Camouflage outfit pieces. The Master Camo outfit was immensely useful for thieving, which was and still is the most popular way to grind for Elite Clues. As well as pre-LotD, Master Camo's teleport to Keldagrim was the best way to start Elite Clue Scans there. Feb 6th: Invention: Hammer & Tinderbox - Hammers and Tinderboxes become augmentable skilling tools, and expand the range of skills that you can use the Prosper Perk to obtain Clues.
Feb 20th: Skillcape Perks - I'm not going to go over all of them, but the Dungeoneering and Slayer Perks offered invaluable teleports for Ironmen that could not obtain a hoardstalker ring as well as teleports to slayer masters which a few are nearby common clue locations.
Mar 27th: Luck Rework The addition of the LotD being a new top tier Luck item only being accessible through Fortunate Components (obtained only from unique treasure trail reward items) brought hundreds of common clue rewards from alch-level to 1m+ on release. To this day those items still hover between 600-800k. This one update made Treasure Trail hunting an extremely profitable part of the game without even having to obtain a mega rare item. This update also brought some much needed clarity to how luck affects Clue Rewards and obtaining clues. The long unanswered rumor of 'Does RoW affect Clues?' was finally put to rest. LotD has also seemingly increased the rate of obtaining clues from Pickpocketing over the pre-luck rework Ring of Wealth. June 5th: Menaphos Graphical Rework to the Desert caused some clue locations to be moved. Soul Devourers in the Sophanem Slayer dungeon are decent Clue Droppers. Reward from Crocodile Tears provides immunity from desert heat at all times. Traversing the desert for clues is now safer and frees up space for better items for players who were using enchanted water tiaras or other heat damage negating items. Personal Slayer Dungeon with Manifest Shadows is now the absolute best way to camp Elite Clues. Rooms with hellhounds are also nice for avoiding overpopulated hellhound locations. You can now obtain Camouflage Fragments in-game (for Master Camo outfit). July 17th: Dyed T92 Weapons - The Ability for Telos weaponry to become dyable drastically surged prices for dyes. Shadow dyes were dropping below 800M and grew back up to their 1B+ status. The effects of these increases in dye prices brought a lot of hype back into clue hunting.
Sept. 18th: Invention Batch 2 Portable Fairy Rings - A must-have for all players who seriously want to get into clueing. They are very cheap to make and once you start using them, you can never go back. Spirit Tree Re-Router - Just as cheap to make as the Fairy rings, but with Dueling Rings and Crwys Teleports putting you right next to a spirit tree already, they're not a must-have. The Spirit Tree network is all one-way flights, the reason fairy rings are so much nicer is because you bypass having to make a layover in Zanaris. Teleportation Compactor - Most Cluescapers have teleport jewelry on their presets. But if you have a Games Necklace (7) on your preset and use a teleport, it wont load out the next time. Compacted Jewelry does not lose it's Identity after teleport usage, this means it will always load out with the preset. This QOL update is very underrated. Patch Notes & Ninja Fixes Jan 23rd: A Duel Arena clue scroll has been re-positioned to no longer require entering the arena. Feb 6th: Players may now drink a cup of tea to remove the effects of the Aggression potion. (Aggro Potting Amlodd Shadows and Jadinkos are common for clue hunting) Feb 13th: The chance of the Prosper perk giving a clue scroll is now doubled. March 13th: Emote clue scrolls which require no items equipped will now ignore auras. Mar 13th: It is now possible to create an attuned crystal teleport seed with unlimited charges for 4,000 harmonic dust. (unlimited Teleports between Prif Clans as well as Llyeta) Mar 20th: Unfiltered the message received when acquiring a clue scroll via the Prosper perk. May 15th: You can now convert generic Daily and Weekly D&D tokens to Weekly and Monthly D&D tokens. (Being able to get more Monthly resets for Oyster or Weekly resets for Skeletal Horror (coming later this year) out of tons of useless daily resets). May 22nd: Players can now teleport to the Grand Exchange or Miscellania with the Luck of the Dwarves ring. June 12th: An option to teleport to Keldagrim has been added to Luck of the Dwarves. This unlimited teleport to Keldagrim is now best way to start Keldagrim Elite Clue Scans. This also frees up room to wear perk'd armor or weight reducing armor for those who had previously been utilizing the Master Camo teleport to Keldagrim. June 26th: Some of the rune Treasure Trail armour has been renamed to help prevent trade scams. They now follow this format: Rune platebody (Bandos). June 26th: The Clue Scroll interface now displays "Scanning..." when scanning. July 3rd: The anti-poison totem can now be worn in the pocket slot with no defensive stats and reducing poison damage by 50% except in Pyramid Plunder. It is also still possible to equip in the off-hand slot as before. (Players without access to Venomblood can now have their OH slot free) July 10th: A fairy ring has been added to the Kharazi Jungle with a code of CJS. 5 bittercap mushrooms are required to initially restore the fairy ring. July 10th: Clue scrolls will no longer be given for the Chaos Tunnels. July 10th: The clue scroll bridge puzzle sliding puzzle has had a duck added to help differentiate between some similar coloured tiles. July 17th: Clue scroll rewards will now move to a player's bank if they have a full backpack. July 17th: More options have been added to various items such as teleport jewellery and capes when worn. (QOL update making worn teleport jewelry easier to use) Aug 7th: The jellyfish guarding the seaweed patch on the sunken Tutorial Island has moved to the north-west corner of the seaweed so it no longer interferes with pathing between the seaweed and the oyster. Aug 14th: The Skeletal Horror can now be reset using Weekly D&D tokens. Oct. 2nd: Item rewards that are unique to treasure trails are now tracked, similar to the boss collection log. This log will be viewable in-game via a new book object when the Clue scroll rework update goes live. Oct. 2nd: Lodestones can now be dragged onto the action bar and activated as a quick teleport. Oct. 9th: The members fence east of Varrock has been removed. (more streamlined pathing around the area) Oct. 23rd: A right-click option has been added to select the destination on various fairy rings throughout the game world without having to first visit Zanaris. Nov 13th: Luck rings and items now state which items were received (including items from the rare drop table) when informing the player that the item shone brightly. Dec. 4th: Shop Stock Changes. Multiple shops throughout Gielinor have updated to sell higher level gear. This can be helpful for low level players or ironmen to obtain emote clue items. Dec. 4th: The elite Varrock achievement set now provides a reduced chance of being randomly teleported within the Chaos Tunnels. [Although the Chaos Tunnel scan is gone, there are a few people who believe it will return as a Master tier scan. IF it does, this Ninja Fix will be an amazing asset to help complete those] Other Notable Treasure Trail Related Events Aug 17th: Hidey Holes Poll Aug 21st: Ice Dye Poll Sept. 23rd: Runescape Reveals Showcase more details for the Treasure Trail Overhaul Oct. 2nd: Customer Support Week - One free Clue Scroll every day with up to 2 caskets if your account is fully secure. Content Showcase Livestreams throughout the later half of the year continually giving updates on the Clue Overhaul. Dyable Khopesh and Praesul items were supposed to come in November but were postponed due to negative feedback. If there are any Patches or Ninja Fixes that have impacted your Treasure Trail experiences that I have missed, please feel free to share them. Thank you again to the Ninja Team and everyone who works so hard on the small things that go underappreciated. submitted by /u/pacquan [link] [comments] |
