[Complaint] If Niantic doesn't fix the scroll bug before the event, I'm going to fly out to their office and fight them.

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 07:43 PM PST

I have over 500 Pokemon that are just waiting to be mass evolved. If this scroll bug isn't fixed for this pitiful 3 hour window I have- I'm flying out to Niantic HQ and going to just start swinging.

Walking and hatching eggs has never been less rewarding

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:21 AM PST

Going for long Pokémon walks feels so pointless now because 19 times out of 20 I'll hatch something I don't need. With Gen 1, and to a lesser extent Gen 2, this was a great way of filling out your Dex, but now it feels impossible to do with the new Gen 3s. I'd love it if they would remove the common Gen 3s and maybe half of Gen 1s and 2s temporarily.

This game is just... boring...?

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 02:50 PM PST

It's been 7 months now with raiding. You drive to a legendary/tyranitar raid, select your team, tap a bunch, try to catch it like every other pokemon, and then rinse and repeat.

There's no real variety in the gameplay. Sure, we get a new pokemon once every month, but the gameplay remains exactly the same. That is, if you can consider standing on the sidewalk and just tapping on your screen to be "gameplay". The catch phase seems at best like a Newgrounds minigame.

It's just really boring to raid all the time. And walking around aimlessly to catch whatever pokemon that appears in the wild, does anybody still find that to be rewarding? Even if you catch a good pokemon, with the mechanics and gameplay that we have now, is it going to really make any different if it's a 96% compared to an 87%?

RIP Dragonite?

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 06:26 PM PST

When this game first came out it may as well have been called "get a dragonite". That quest was what initially got me so hooked in the earliest days. The best gyms were the ones with 7/8/9 Dragonites, and they were untouchable. Though they're still able to learn strong moves and get well above 3000 CP, I feel like Dragonite is now a distant memory in this game. I barely even see Dragonites in gyms anymore. Is it just because some of the later generation Pokémon are so colossal?

I'm still carrying a torch for old Dragonite.

[Discussion] Have raids taken over the game?

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 07:42 PM PST

I realized that like last summer, before raids were a thing, that Niantic said they were working on a lot of new features, including the new AR they released, but also including PvP and trading. I feel like these took a backseat because of raids, but I am really hoping that they get these in soon, especially trading, as it would stop all the complaints from rural players not being able to complete their dex. Thoughts?

Guide to excellent throwing Kyogre

Posted: 13 Jan 2018 08:36 AM PST

Hi, everyone! Here are some tips of getting great or even excellent throw on Kyogre. Here's the video version of this guide If you don't want to be redirected to Youtube, here's a belief written guide:

  1. A trick to put Kyogre back to the middle of the screen: Turn AR on and off. Of course, you can choose to wait patiently. (Let me know if it works on the devices that don't support AR.)

  2. Never attempt throwing at the Kyogre when it is on one side, unless you are highly experienced in throwing this kind of Pokemon

  3. Here comes the most important point, initiate the spin and throw on either the lower left or right corner (Spinning: anti-clockwise for left, clockwise for right), at around 60 degrees, release your hand at the middle of the opposite side (nearly on the edge, or just right on the edge) Here's how it looks like graphically

  4. Keep practising! As hitting the perfect angle requires much more precision than throwing excellents on Groudon. This method would never be 100% successful unless you keep on trying, same as me, I need to keep practising too.

As for the video, I think I didn't make the first slow motion slow enough to have an effective presentation, you may better look on my second slow motion, it's much better IMO.

And I know, I missed the touch indicator...

[Idea] After Transferring and Evolving Pokemon, have the Pokemon List Screen remember where you were as opposed to the list automatically scrolling to the top.

Hope this is implemented in a future update, but overall this is a fun game.
