MCC 2018 Update Wishlist

Posted: 09 Jan 2018 08:16 PM PST

Here is my wishlist for the 2018 MCC update:

  1. Fix matchmaking and UI bugs for everybody
  2. Option to turn off menu music
  3. Fix proximity chat and add real post-game lobbies
  4. Fix Halo 2 shot registration
  5. Make sure all patches are applied to all games (maybe they are?)
  6. Fix H2 emblems (or add service tag)

What do you all want to see fixed in addition or what did I forget?

Interesting factoid just got pointed out to me:

I just returned to university and apparently the school I'm going to now (Simon Fraser University) was used a lot in the filming of Forward Unto Dawn.

Pretty crazy, thought I'd share.

Not quite as impressive as Sgt. Johnson or Master Chief...

but I'm pretty proud of my Destiny 2 Caboose! Complete with AR, SMG, and shotgun. Slowly acquiring another 5 copies of this armour set and shading them varying blue and reds to match the orginal six Red vs Blue cast

Food cure discovered in most unlikely of places...

My wife discovered the cure to the Flood in her dream.

Cut up some of the fruits you'd find in a traditional fruit salad, crush some mustard seeds, blend into a cream, apply generously.

Who woulda known?

I feel like Warzone would've been better off with a different REQ system (and a slight change to point scoring)

Posted: 09 Jan 2018 09:23 AM PST

I mean, I get what 343i was going for. But there was definitely a way to get what they wanted with the cards/REQs while still having a better balanced and more fair system.

Namely;

  • Both teams and all players earn and unlock REQS at the same rate - no one team earns things faster or sooner than others

  • All players have unlimited REQ points in a match, but with a short cooldown between buying items, and items themselves have individual cooldowns

  • Both teams earn points from damaging a boss that gets killed; team with final blow gets the Point Bonus + DMG Points, while the other team just gets DMG Points

  • Having 2 or more people on the point over the enemy team causes it to start the conversion to your side (albeit at a reduced rate)

  • Limit to the number of a certain kind of REQ that can be deployed by one team at a time (EX: Scorpions, Banshees etc.)

What these changes do is still respect the basic concept and goal of Warzone, but make it a much more fair and far less snowball-y experience. Players still get to call in what they want, when they want (for the most part) and the better team still has advantages.

But it makes the gametype about a smart, constant series of good decisions and gameplay and tactics throughout the match, rather than getting an early lead and spamming powerful REQs over and over at basically no penalty and or cost, which is what many if most Warzone matches seem to devolve into - especially if there is even a minor skill difference between the teams.

It makes decisions and strategy important, because using a powerful REQ and losing it too soon or at an inopportune moment could be very costly, as opposed to being a "Meh, whatever" that it is now. Also encourages REQ diversity.
