Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:06 AM PST Not sure if anybody else is like me. After wife and kid go the bed every night, I find a few hours to wander about in the Commonwealth (survival), completing or starting quests that are near by and keeping Home Plate more orderly than I do my home in real life. I'm not actually doing anything with a purpose. Just puttering about, collecting stuff and killing things. It's sort of become a weird second-life of sorts. I wonder what it'd be like if they ever got around to releasing Fallout Online. [link] [comments] |
I didn't know Caravans had casual Fridays. Posted: 14 Jan 2018 06:51 AM PST |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 08:15 AM PST Since the false ballistic missile warning, everyone's been ask for a Fallout set in Hawaii and a while ago somebody posted a link to their own roleplaying forum complete with lore, factions, and locations called Nukaloha. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to convert to PNP. You can check it out here. [link] [comments] |
If I am deciding to buy a Fallout game for the first time, which one should I buy? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 05:32 AM PST Pretty much just the title. I've never played any fall out games and I was told new vegas is probably the best but i'm not sure. Any opinions? [link] [comments] |
How much did New Vegas suffer from being rushed? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 08:46 AM PST Were the quests that were cut for Caesars Legion the only part of New Vegas that suffered from a rushed production, or were there a lot of others good ideas that were cut due to time constraints? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 12:03 PM PST Would you guys play a Fallout game set in the months leading up to the GW? I think it would be really compelling. [link] [comments] |
Just an FYI to modders that Snap 'n Build is back on bethesda.net! Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:17 AM PST I love this mod. Building bunkers and unique houses in my settlements was such a joy using this mod. I remember removing it by accident and searching for it to find out it wasn't there anymore! Turns out that the author, ad3d0, removed the mod. I was pretty sad as i had built up quite a lot settlements using mainly Snap N Build. Today i am no longer sad! It's back! I just wanna thank ad3d0 for bringing it back. :) have a nice day! [link] [comments] |
Ballistic Weave is one of the weirdest things in Fallout 4. Posted: 14 Jan 2018 02:23 PM PST So this has been something which has bothered me ever since I discovered it. I think getting Ballistic Weave through the Railroad quests is theoretically a great idea. Depending on your armorer skill you can add a level (pretty high at rank 4) of energy and ballistic protection to regular clothing to give you more freedom to wear what you want in the wasteland without getting stomped. What I can't get my head around is the bizarre list of items that can be woven. Now the most logical thing to me is that you should have been able to weave all clothing that was too bulky to wear armor over to add a measure of balance. Rather than that it's a random list of things you can wear armor over and stuff you can't, even a handful of hats, mostly bad looking ones of course. Why would Bethesda design it this way? It seems so weird making something like army fatigues and the battered fedora the best clothing in the game in terms of protection potential. Just so random and arbitrary. [link] [comments] |
Would you say having useless or redundant perks is actually a good thing? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 02:22 PM PST To me, it's just more options to play how you want. I understand there will almost always be superior options, but I hope they never get rid of perks I think are crappy in order to "streamline" the experience. Take Here and Now for instance. It's a terrible perk in every damn game. But it's really satisfying to take it sometimes when you need use it in a pinch, although that's incredibly rare. I loved using it as a kid though, I thought it was the best perk in all the damn games. My point is I feel that the crappy perks add more substance to the game and truly let you play how YOU want, even if it isn't optimal. Cause really at the end of the day, Fallout is about exploration and character building, so I think that's important. Yeah my kid self was weaker for always taking Here and Now but I was loving every damn second, so the goal of the game was absolutely achieved. [link] [comments] |
Who would you guys like to see as the antagonists/evil faction in future fallout games? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 01:58 PM PST |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 12:16 PM PST I played Doom as a kid, i love everthing doom.. But im also a huge fan of fallout and im really focused on immersive content. For those who have both the Prototype Gauss Rifle and the BFG, which one would you recommend and why? I only have enough credits for one. [link] [comments] |
What's your least favourite thing about every Fallout game you've played? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 01:01 AM PST If you've played all of them, I'm sure you have quite the story to tell! [link] [comments] |
PAX South Cosplay. Wasteland chems dealer. Posted: 13 Jan 2018 09:33 PM PST |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 01:10 AM PST From my understanding they're main base was the oil rig in fallout 2, which gets blown up and then the remnants go to the capital wasteland, and then their base gets blown up again, and from what i understand they're done for now?? Or is there evidence to the contrary? [link] [comments] |
[SPOILERS for new vegas] Don't trust Mr. House, so I have a safe stash in goodsprings. Posted: 14 Jan 2018 01:59 PM PST Hey all. So, I'm playing new vegas and from a role-playing point of view, I don't trust my stuff in any place that is super protected or has lots of people. But I never had anywhere to put it until I found the abandoned trailer in goodsprings. It has a bed and two metal boxes, perfect place to hide a stash of weapons. So it was really awesome going back to my trailer in the town I helped save to storm the Lucky 38 with all the gear I hoarded. Felt like I was preparing to take mister house out. What other strange places you guys hide your gear in? [link] [comments] |

Fallout:Liberty Bell Wasteland aka my planned tabletop for next year. Posted: 14 Jan 2018 12:06 AM PST I've spent the last two days working on this, mainly getting the mock up and colors right. Its not done yet, I can still feel it needs work but I'd figure my fellow fans would maybe enjoy it a bit. https://i.imgur.com/9iKwY1d.png I'm currently working on the 'War. War Never Changes' monologue. [link] [comments] |
[Picture] Fallout 4 Settlement Map with Satelite World Map Posted: 13 Jan 2018 10:40 PM PST Hello, I noticed that I couldn't find a settlement map of the commonwealth that was both visually attractive and fun to work with. So, here you are, I hope someone else gets some use out of it. DM me if you'd like the PSD (Photoshop) File. Here are the two maps I am using in my Survival RP Playthroughs. Full credit to FloorBelow, VirusZ and XunAmarox for the images used in its creation and Fallout 4 Interactive Map for the map markers. [link] [comments] |
Suggestions for mods on Xbox One X Posted: 14 Jan 2018 10:25 AM PST So I've recently upgraded my One S to a One X (generous gift) and I got to thinking about Fallout 4. I finished the main storyline but never got to Far Habor or Nuka World. It's time to fix that. I want to keep the core gameplay the same, but set the game to look as amazing as possible. What are the must have mods in this sense? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 12:16 PM PST Hey all, Recently I've been trying to play through fallout 4 again. But, Frankly, i've played through it too many times. It's all the same thing now. I've got $10 in my wallet- purchasing a DLC for the game would give me the proper determination to play through it again. What do ya'll say? [link] [comments] |
I need help with special stats/bobble heads Posted: 14 Jan 2018 09:53 AM PST I collected all but 3 of the bobble heads, and I just realized that none of my special perks are 10. Does this mean that the bobble heads that raise a stat by 1 will now never get me to 11? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 14 Jan 2018 03:51 PM PST I decided to make a little timelime with some events that would have created the different Fallout Universe. Feel free to suggest stuff. 1947 - The transistor isn't invented. The 2nd Berlin Conference (February 10-17, 1958): Concerns the fate of Africa. Fearing the spread of communism if African colonies become independent, the members of the conference, which include all colonial overloads and NATO members, agree to give some nations independence, but not all. Most of French West Africa remains under French Rule, the Belgian Congo stays Belgian, and most of Southern Africa become puppets under Apartheid South Africa, with backup from Nato. The Bay of Pigs and the War of Cuban Liberation (April 16 - December 1st, 1961): The Bay of Pigs invasion fails to overthrow Castro, however it still manages to clinch land and start a civil war, which develops into a proxy war between the US and Soviets. On August 24th, a cuban communist in Miami opens fire on a diner, killing 40, including 19 children. It is quickly revealed that he had connections to the Castro regime, and President John F. Kennedy launches an invasion of Cuba to overthrow Castro. Castro is caught in November in the basement of a home outside Havana, and the war is officially over by December. Because of this, there is no Cuban Missile Crisis, less of a Soviet threat, and greater support for interventionism among Americans Decline of the Soviet Union and Rise of China (November - December 1961): In order to make up for the loss of Cuba, the Soviets overthrow Yugoslavia's leader and makes them join the Warsaw Pact stage communist coups in Afghanistan and Pakistan, giving them a path to the Indian Ocean. While the coups are successful, resistance rises up, which the Soviets attempt to quell. With the Soviet Union preoccupied, China rises up, and Albania, Laos, Cambodia, North Korea, North Vietnam, and Burma all turn to China. Beginning of Intervention in Southeast Asia (February 4, 1963): US troops land in South Vietnam to assist them in the war against the communist north. In our timeline, the vietnam War serves as a proxy war between the USSR and the US, but in Fallout it serves as a proxy war between the Us and China. The US also annexes the Philippines, several small pacific island nations, and along with Australia and New Zealand, occupies the rest for "their safeguarding against communism". Singapore, Hong Kong, and Macau go from European Territories to American ones, increasing tensions with China. Hippie movement (1963-76): Similar to our timeline: anti-war, pro-drug and sex. However they face massive challenges from the Kennedy administration. Kennedy's Second Term (1965- 1969): Kennedy travels down a street in Dallas. Nothing happened. Oswald had travelled to the Soviet Union, where he decided to help with quelling any resistance in the Soviet satellite states. Kennedy runs for re-election, and wins by landslide. He will proceed to pass the Civil Rights Act, ending Jim Crow and leading to riots in southern cities and resistance from local governments. JFK sends the military, shuts down the rioters, and arrests any government officials who refuse to cooperate. This shutdown sets the conditions for stronger centralized governments through the commonwealths. Kennedy also increases space and technological funding, pushing technological down the fallout path. The Kennedy Administration and Congress would ban the sale of contraceptives to anyone not married and limit access to abortions, preventing the sexual revolution for now. The wars in Southeast Asia and colonial Africa continue with American support. Kennedy ends his term as the most popular president in American History. President Joseph McCarthy (1969-1977): Known in our timeline for his strong anti-communism and labelling his opponents as communists, McCarthy never becomes unpopular. Instead he wins the 1968 election, but by a rather slim margin. He continue Kennedy's interventions, however he launches investigations into every aspect of American society for communism. This creates a third red scare, which brings about thousands of arrests throughout the country. He also creates the commonwealths of the Fallout universe in 1969, and redesigns the flag. China continues under Maoist rule (Late 70s): The rise of China prevents Deng Xiaoping from becoming the leader of the country and enacting limited free market reforms like in our timelines. Instead China continues under a maoist, more expansionist path, funding communist groups in Africa and Latin America. President Robert "Bobby" Kennedy (1977-1981): John F. Kennedy's younger brother Bobby wins the 1976 election, though by a slim margin. He proves to be a different type of democrat than the last two: he ends the ban on contraceptive to unmarried couples and abortion soon becomes a states issue. He sighs a peace treaty with North Vietnam, as the war had resulted in a stalemate and 101,670 American deaths, and soon results with a divided Vietnam. He passes the Equality for Women in the Workplace Act, ensuring equal pay and punishment for sexual harassment, and leads to women into the workforce. These decisions are viewed as a "promotion of degeneracy and communist ideals" by many. He loses the 1980 election to Ronald Reagan by large margins, but not the total sweep that Reagan had over Carter in our 1980 election. Iranian Revolution (1979): Islamists rise up in Iran against the Shah, however with extra support from the US and its Israeli and British allies, it is apply to prevent the revolutionaries from overtaking the country. Instead a year long civil war occurs, in which the Shah emerges victories. President Reagan (1981-1989): Basically the same as our timeline regarding free market economics and social conservatism, however he is even more aggressive against communism, with interventions in Central America (the Panama Canal remains in US hands) and support for authoritarian governments in Brazil, Chile, and Africa. President Bush (1989-1997): Bush normalizes relations with the Soviet Union, shortly after its Premier passes some moderate capitalistic and liberty reforms, while still keeping the USSR united under an overall communism system. Part of the relationships involves in agreement that if China nukes either country, the other one would intervene. Bush proves aggressive with the ever rising China, who has now overtaken the Soviets as the overloads of Afghanistan and Pakistan and continues to fund communist groups throughout the world. Bush wins re-election by a small margin. Age of Terrorism (2001-2024): China resorts to funding communist terror groups throughout Western countries and their allies. The first attacks occur on September 12, 2001 in Washington, D.C. Several bombings and shootings occur in Georgetown University, the Rosslyn Metro Station, and numerous government buildings, killing 1,106. The deadliest attack occurs at Times Square on January 1st, 2007 at 12:01, as several massive bombs kill 15,000 people celebrating the new years. The attacks lead to large surveillance states, 4th Red scare, an invasion of socialist Venezuela in 2003 with the help of Brazil, as well as a much more united European Commonwealth, laying the framework for the merging of most of its members into one nation in July 2042. The deadliest attack in Europe occurs in Paris, where a dirty bomb detonates in the business district, killing 8,000 Effects of Continued Cold war on Tech: [link] [comments] |
New vegas invisible wall removers? Posted: 14 Jan 2018 03:51 PM PST Playing on hardcore mode and trying to avoid deathclaws and stuff is really annoying when there's invisible walls all over the hills and mountains. So I can't jump to a ledge that I should be able to jump to. Is there any mods that remove this? The only thing that comes up when I search for it is map border removers [link] [comments] |
