So it's my Uni Radio's 10 year anniversary this weekend and we've scheduled an interview with the Creative Director of DayZ! This is huge news for us and we're really looking forward to it. So we'll be asking our own questions but we want to know if you have any questions for him. We'll be picking the best ones and asking him a few depending on our time limit, excited to see what you want to know!

Deadline will be this Thursday at 5pm UK time and the interview will be broadcast this Saturday (Friday night) at midnight on www.clickteesside.com!

Just for some info, this isn't a promotion! We geniunely want some fan questions from people who adore the game which is why I've posted here, hoping to get some!

EDIT: I probably won't have time to ask questions about updates and such. Would prefer questions that ask about development process, how it is, what it is, the best bits or the worst bits etc etc.

I try to make my own fun with this game, but I am really having a hard time finding it. The controls are VERY sluggish, the melee combat is absolutely HORRIBLE and laggy, half the time I am doing nothing but running, I rarely meet people on 100% full servers no matter where I go and I have never been able to fire a gun in over 100 hours of playing. Where is the fun in this game? How do I "make" the fun? And please don't tell me "this game isn't for you". I paid 30 dollars for this thing so it sure as hell is going to be for me.

Finding it difficult to settle on a server.

I play in a group of 4, we recently thought we'd give the game a go after a long break. Trouble is we can only find one 1PP server that's popular, but it's too popular and we usually hit a 19 player queue. We had an amazing time playing and everything worked great, plenty of loot and players.

However, the queue time being too much we tried a medium pop server. All it did was rain constantly (never saw any rain in the other) we enjoyed surviving the rain and having to stay warm and dress appropriately but it wore thin after about 3 hours of rain. Also barely any loot and no signs of players.

Why do people queue for a full server instead of filling up the lower pop ones is my main question. Is it just a better server and the other has loot/rain issues? Is that even possible or just situational.

Jumping back in after a while

So I honestly am not a veteran player at all... I've bought and played the game back in 2015 and played it for 26 hours.

I do remember finding weapons and loot at NWAF... And some other military camp I forgot the name off (there were lots of AKMs if that is any indictation of the place, and alot of zombies which eventually killed me, rendering my looting useless...).

Is that still the case? Or should I just head land-inwards in general?

Way back before you were deaf when you were dead there was a time when I was just sitting next to a wall in Novo. I was hiding from a newer spawn who was on the other side. I had my gun out in case he noticed me and charged.

As he passed me I shouted out to him and asked if he was friendly. He said yes and I came out and was talking to him for a minute and helping him out when I got shot and immediately died.

A few seconds later I hear a distant voice growing, shouting, "Leave him alone you bastard bandit! That'll show you!" I hear his footsteps get close to my body and he asks the guy I was talking to;

"You alright dude? He was trying to hold you up, right?"

"Uh.. no he was helping me..."

"Well... shit... if anyone asks, he was a bandit, quick grab his stuff and lets get out of here. You want to team up?"

"Sure."

Footsteps fading

Its my most memorable death. It was like an epilogue for that life. I know sometimes people just talk shit and act like children and its annoying and unimmersive, but that one instance made me so happy that being able to hear after death was a feature.

In my perfect game you would be deaf when unconscious (so you can't get any information you can use after waking up), but hear in death as a cinematic feature.

Two Characters?

Yo,

Apologies if this is already a known issue but I am a returning player and haven't played this game in about 3 years.

I created a character last night and then quit the game to have tea, when I came back and tried to join a server I spawned me with a new character. I thought my character must have been deleted and thought nothing of it. I then left the game again and joined another server due to lag and I was then back with my first character. Whenever I join a new server I get one of the two character so I now have two?

I this a usual thing to happen?

Why are we ignoring the subreddit rules? Are mods active?

I've been browsing & watching this sub and I've seen many memes, jokes, immature or juvenile posts being allowed. Is it because the older dayz players are not active anymore and the sub is busy with more younger players? Pointless posts and memes getting many upvotes, while meaningful posts getting downvoted. Mods seem to ignore this and not follow their own rules. If that's the case why not get rid of the rules? Nobody follows them anyway? I'm puzzled... I hate to see this sub going downhill and turn into an immature sub filled with kids or immature adults.

So just built a new pc. Specs: Ryzen 5 1600 Rx 580 8g 8gb ddr4 120gb ssd

It runs great getting over 100 in pubg and at like 250 in rocket league. In dayz I'm literally getting like 30 fps with settings not even maxed. I don't understand because I was getting 70-90 on my old system with a 3570k and a gtx 660. I tried reinstalling already.

So I've been playing DayZ since the standalone release, but recently took a longish break. Anyways, about 2 weeks ago I bought a new GPU and couple of days ago, I thought about getting back into. Anyways, I fired it up and the damn thing is running at 2 FPS....like seriously, even my my laptop that has an intel HD 4000 runs at a higher frame rate. By the way, I my gpu in my desktop is Nvidia GT 1030 ddr5 2gb, surly there must be something wrong...does anybody here might have an answer

My specs Windows 10 64 bit Nvidia GT 1030 PSU 450 watt Intel core i5 660 4 GB ram

I've come back to dayZ after not playing it for a couple years. (Never played much tbh). I used to meet people in cities and chat or team up and loot. A lot has changed since I last logged in and I wanted to talk to some people in game to get the low down. Every person I ran up to as an unarmed fresh spawn yelling "Friendly, I'm unarmed" killed me on sight. I even tried surrendering and the fuckers just walked up and shot me in the head

I don't know if this sub is the place to post this, but I have tons of experience in both arma 2 and 3 dayz mods. I have around 220 hours on Standalone (80 of which were in the first month of the game and the other 140 have been in the last 2-3 months). I have no server preferences(1pp/3pp I don't care)
