What is karma bombing?

Can someone explain karma bombing to me please.

So I started playing a few weeks ago and a friend told me that there are players who will cut into other peoples mob farming so the other player has to either kill him and lose karma or compete with him. And if they do get killed they will keep coming back even removing their armor so the farmer would lose more karma. That part I understand is a dick move by that player.

The part I don't understand is what happened to me a few days ago. I was farming in helms for a good hour in peace and them some player came and instantly killed me without even touching any mobs. I didn't mind it because I came to this game knowing in the start I will easaly get squashed. So I went back to grinding but then I saw the same guy kill another dude slightly further away and then instantly rush to me and kill me again. Because he killed other players and me so fast I didn't even see if he was killing any mobs so when I went back for the third time I didn't see him for a minute before he was back to kill me again. After which my guild leader told me that that guy messaged him and demanded I stop karma bombing him.

To me that felt as if I was on the beach building a sand castle and then some dude comes and stomps all over it and then blames me because now he has sand in his shoes...

Was I karma bombing him?

Game underperforms while playing in Fullscreen Windowed. Any fix?

Hey guys, so I've always played BDO on fullscreen windowed and got used to the kind of laggy-ish gameplay with 30-60 fps on slightly high.

Recently, I've gotten a new main monitor (made my old main monitor a secondary monitor as a result), the main change is that the new monitor's refresh rate is 144 Hz, while the old one only had 60 Hz. Now, I didn't see any difference while playing on fullscreen windowed, but I decided to test out Fullscreen and boy oh boy, was I surprised.

Not only could I run the game on 100+ FPS, I could also raise all the settings up to max and there would be no lag spikes! Can anyone explain to me if I can fix Fullscreen Windowed by some tweaking so that it performs the same way Fullscreen does? Since I have two monitors, I wanna move inbetween them with my mouse, but it does not work when BDO is running Fullscreen.

Are 2x250 Marni stones better than 1x500?

I've seen a few posts around that have data supporting that 2x250 gives slightly more experience than a single 500 stone.

My guild is in denial about 2x250 giving more because they don't see the difference at 61.

What is the communities consensus? Are they correct?

New players: You're under no obligation ti roleplay if you don't want to

When you start solo grinding, you'll inevitably encounter people who come in, kill you, and then demand you leave the spot. If you don't, they'll accuse you of griefing and karmabombing. Don't let this affect you. Game mechanics are there for a reason. If players were supposed to be able to freely kill anyone they want, the karma system wouldn't exist. Any time you find yourself in a fight for a grinding spot, consider all your options, which include not just fighting or running, but also continuing to grind without engaging the attacking player, if you think you're still getting enough xp or silver out fo the situation.

You're under no obligation to leave the area just because someone killed you, just as you're under no obligation to dismount and bow to a player on the road because he identifies himself as the marshal of serendia's forces on the velia server group. The marshal will get pissy if you don't do it, and his friends might too, but those are social reprecussions, not game ones. Don't let other people's values determine your enjoyment of the game, and if eventually you start adhering to the karmabombing honor code, do it because you choose to, not because you feel forced into it.

Campsites?

Just got my free one from the questline. Is there any use for them yet? Checked with some Old Moon managers and they had nothing to sell me, and I couldn't find anything campsite related in the pearl shop. Also checked the subreddit and there's just some relatively old discussion about them being P2W.

World boss alts now useless after recent patch?

The patch notes say this.

The drop system for boss weapons has been reworked so that more Adventurers can have chances of getting them. In a World Raid Boss session, Adventurers within the top 80% of damage dealing have a chance of obtaining the items. (If 100 Adventurers participated, up to 80 of them can loot the boss.)

I know lot of people used to park their low lvl no gear alts at world boss spawns but since they might be within the top 80% of damage, does that make alts useless now? If so, is this for all world bosses or just the ones that give boss weapons?

having trouble with PvE as a sorc

so i just reached level 52 and the grind just got to the stage where it's taking hours just to get 30%xp. so i decided to get myself a +15 yuria and head off to manes. The problem is that it's taking so long just to kill a small group of mobs that it's making it so inefficient to grind the area out. i have 97AP with an accuracy of 132. do i need better gear?

Hello all bdo players!

I started playing not so long ago and I just hit lvl 55 yesterday.

I feel like I've hit a wall and I often don't know what to do anymore. My gear feels very low. Lack of skill points. Awakening? I have so many questions and the chat is more often trolling than super helpful.

If anyone wants to be my guide, maybe even by discord and share their knowledge that would be awesome!

Hi, since we'll have a BDO SEA server soon, I'd like to know if I'll be able to play the game with my PC's spec. It's fine if I'll have to play it on low as long as I'm able to play the game.

Here's the spec details: OS: Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit Processor: Intel Core i5-4570 CPU @ 3.20GHz Memory: 12GB Ram Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630

New to the game - kinda... lost.

So I installed BDO yesterday and while it downloaded itself I watched some guides on Youtube. You do know that an hour long video named "BDO Beginner Guide" is quite horrifying, right? I think my hairs started to turn gray somewhere in the middle of that video.

 

So I started a Wizard thinking "It can't be that hard" and "It will make sense when I play". NOPE. Everything is quite... daunting. There is constant spam on the screen, UI looks like a mess, tried to do some combat but it's very unintuitive... Can someone get me tips on how to play it? I start feeling like new player in EVE - a baby plopped butt naked in the woods.

 

Can someone tell me what to use for general damage with a Wizard? Which skills are good to level and which are better avoided? I heard about awakening that is quite essential for Wizard - can someone talk me through how it looks and what is best to use?

I recently got a boss chest piece after using roaring for months, and for the longest time since I got roaring i had used double luck crystals. Now im not so sure if i should do that again or use crystals that would be better for pvp
