So if you haven't been noticing lately I've been slowly updating the 2017 melee tech videos for the new year and have finally released every updated version, plus 1 new video for the now 2018 Melee Guides. What with the whole new 'esports license' thing in Japan, Dwango (who is one of the companies responsible for Tokaigi) is hosting an event to ring in the new year and generate hype for the future of esports in Japan! The event will feature 10 international players facing off against Japan's best. Three of these players will be showcasing their respective games in a First-to-Takes-Up-Two-Hours-Somehow exhibition match, which are Tekken 7, SFV, and Smash 4. The theme is centered on runbacks with the top Japanese players: JDCR vs Noroma (Tekken World Tour Korea), Punk vs Tokido (EVO), and Nairo vs KEN (Tokaigi 2017). The commentators for the Smash 4 section will be Nama-ta (Japan's D1 in a sense!) and Abadango. Nama-ta will provide more of the play-by-play while Abadango will provide analysis and overall insight into the match. They have yet to state how many matches these exhibition matches will be, but my guess is on FT10 or something. A possible 19 matches of the best Sonic and ZSS + whatever else the Nairoulette decides that day! | What's a small thing that could make Smash 5 less fun for you? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:46 AM PST I don't really have any solid reasoning behind this other than Miis being optional and buried in the settings menu on the Switch, but I'm worried they might remove Mii support altogether instead of making it more robust and adding more fighting styles. Being able to create characters added so much to Smash 4 for me. What are your concerns? And while your here... T Link deserves to have more sets up there. Probably the most exciting new player to enter this world scene. At West Side Saga, T went up against the hype greninja in a frog onesie himself, Stroder Greninja A 5 game thriller of no high tiers with sick combos, insane comebacks, hard reads and high level play with two underused characters. I think it definitely deserves to be remembered as one of the top 20 of this year.
