| Get Yu (Japanese/Mexican Falco) to Genesis 5! Posted: 14 Dec 2017 07:06 AM PST Who is Yu and why should I care? Yu is a Japanese/Mexican Falco player that has played in both countries for extended periods of time. During his stay in Japan, he quickly became one of Japan's top 3 players, having taken sets off of Shippu, darkatma, and Gucci, and is also one of the few players to have taken sets off of both Rudolph and aMSa. While traveling back and forth between Japan and Mexico, he's taken multiple sets off of top Mexican players. Yu has permanently moved back to Mexico from Japan and is now expressing interest in travelling to more North American tournaments: this time, it's Genesis 5! He'll be representing both countries and will be a top player threat, but he also won't have as great of an opportunity as this!

Okay, you've convinced me, how do I get Yu to Genesis 5? https://smash.gg/tournament/genesis-5/voting/186265 As of now, Yu is currently in the Genesis 5 Compendium with a goal of $800 (link above). The problem is that he's still in the voting phase at second place. In order for Yu to get to the funding phase, two things need to happen: first, he needs to reach 1st place in the voting phase. He needs approximately ~100 votes to pass Junebug (who's also a sick player, so if you want to support him instead, feel free) Second, one of the three Melee players currently in the funding phase of the compendium need to be fully funded. These players are Ginger (who needs ~$250 more), TimeMuffinPhD (who needs ~$650 more), and Moky (who needs ~$900 more). Wow that's more steps than I personally like, I'll be on my way ou- I completely understand! But please consider that Yu is an international player who normally can't travel to big US tournaments because of travel costs. This would Yu's first supermajor appearance in years, and he's sure to make a sick impression. If you can just vote/donate a little bit, you'll be doing both him, Falcos, Mexico, and Japan a huge favor. Thank you and please help Yu to make it to Genesis 5! | Opponent complaining about my playstyle in the middle of match Posted: 14 Dec 2017 04:49 PM PST I main the fire emblem cast minus robin, and cloud. The way I play is usually a combination of passive and aggressive, depending on the way my opponent is playing at any moment. I usually play against my brother and friends. My friends and brother all main low tiers proudly. The reason they do this is so that when they win they rub it in how they're more skillful because they're beating my with low tiers. But when they lose they chalk it up to them playing low tiers. Usually I end up playing ike or roy to prove that I am not winning because I am choosing cloud, marth, or corrin. On to the main point. Even when I choose a low tier like ike or roy, they will always yell at me during the game that I am camping and that I am being a pussy. But really I am just playing the matchup, and I tell them this. But then they say, we are just playing for fun, not for tournaments. It isn't fun being passive. But like if I go all out hyper aggressive against a little mac or a ganon, I will get destroyed. What should I do? I used to be able to play with chill people and that was the best, where you could just play for hours without anyone getting salty. Is there any way I could get them to be that way too?
