Weekly Character Discussion - Alex. Whatcha say? Low tier? Alrite, let's rumble. Posted: 06 Dec 2017 07:09 AM PST Overview Alex, the character who was meant to replace Ryu in SFIII, is a grappler with charged specials. His V-Skill allows him turn his next hit to a counter hit, which can be convert to great damage. In V-trigger, he is able to parry attacks and gains the ability to guard break his opponents. Psyched: Bring On S3! Posted: 06 Dec 2017 05:29 AM PST Put $25 on my PSN acct a few weeks back. I didn't want S3 to arrive/drop only to be without the funds. I'm a filthy casual. I know way more about SF than most but can't really get over a 33% win ratio. So, I write FAQs and run web pages and collect SF nonsense. Oh, and browse this sub all day long. If S3 begins anything like S2 did, we may not be far away, folks! Recall we got news about Gouki/Akuma and then two weeks later, the second season began! Now, we could dispute who is coming (Sakura and Sodom all but guaranteed) or could bitch about the lack of load times and netcode fixes. We could even complain about the game sucking. That seems like a popular one. But for me... We have Capcom Cup in a few days. We have AE in a month. And... Who knows... We may have a S3 character sooner than we think! OK. Ending fanboy rant. About that poll that Capcom made for SF Posted: 06 Dec 2017 06:35 AM PST So, two months ago the Capcops made a character pool to check out who's you favorite character. 2 months passed and Sakura and Sagat are all but confirmed, and some leaks "confirmed" some characters like Roxy, Sodom, etc (depending of who leak you trust). So basically my question is, will Capcom consider the poll for this season? Or the next one? What is the best way to focus on your opponent during a match. As a person who picked up SF last year, I would really love to hear how the pros do it. Posted: 05 Dec 2017 11:10 PM PST Question might seem vague, but I can't really put it in words. My issue with the game is that with different characters, I need to focus on different parts of their bodies. Like for Ken, with a slow jump arc (IMO) it works to focus on his legs. The moment I see it leaving the floor I try to anti air and this seems to work. But doing so leaves me vulnerable to kens runs and spacing him out with my Ryus fireballs. But this would not be the case for someone like Cammy or Vega As a rookie, how should I optimally focus on my opponent. Are there some thumb rules that you guys follow?
