I was commenting on another post and thought of this solution. Next year we should vote Zhong to be the T5. These simple steps are based off of what we have seen this year.

Step 1: Vote him for T5 next year. That way we get a great skin.

Step 2: HiRez buffs Zhong Kui.

Step 3: HiRez profits.

Kind of a win win. Just a thought.

Zhong Kui needs love in both fronts: buffs and skins.

It is annoying how Zhong Kui did not get any skins for over 2 years, but it's also no suprise. After all the community and somebody who loves skulls too much hates him, thinks he is weak and overall a bad god. I would not blame the community for thinking Zhonger is weak, he is a melee mage without any mobility and an awkward ult + passive interaction.

That is why i believe Zhong needs to be buffed to be actually more popular and get skins. So here are the buff suggestions:

  • Speed up his 2 and 3's animations, just like you did with Izanami and Raijin. This is the main and probably the most dire buff i would want for Zhong Kui. He needs to compete with mages that have near instant, flexible and reliable abilities.

  • He always has to clear with 2 abilities all game. That's unfair! Most mages can clear with 1 ability, which means they don't suffer such mana issues compared to gods that clear with 2 abilities. Let his 1 do 10% more damage to minions to make it his main clearing tool and let it tick 2 more times to increase the reward for landing the 1 on gods, too.

Oh and give him a skin Hirez, please...

EDIT: New ideas that could help him that you listed:

  • Movement speed increase on his ult.

  • Gets stacks from kills, not necesarrily with his 1 > 2 combo.

  • His ult heals allies like before.
