It Has Been Over 6 Months Since The Last Elite Skilling Outfit Fragments Were Made Earnable Thought The Relevant Skill.

Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:21 PM PST

After mass outrage following the release of the Elite Dungeoneering Outfits Jagex said they would be committing to realising all Elite Outfits ingame throught rhe relevant skills. https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/574buy/the_future_of_elite_skilling_outfits/ Everything seemed to be going fine till after the release on Menaphos and the swapping of the Thieving for the Divination Outfit.

Mining, Runecrafting: November 14th, 2016

•Wait time between releases: 3 Months, 20 days

Fishing: March 6th, 2017

•Wait time between releases: 2 Months, 30 days

Divination Thieving: June 5th, 2017

•Wait time between releases: 6 Months (And Counting)

Divination: ????

Now time and time again I have seen people say that it was a MINIMUM of 4 months however this is for the Initial release and not the Fragments. The first 2 Fragment releases were actually under 4 months of each other' but thats not my problem with the release schedule. The main problem I have with this system is Thieving was switched for Divination and released so early because it "Fit the theme of Expansion 1 and Menaphos". So why did Divination not fit with the Scrapped September expansion and Invention Batch 2? On top of Elite Skilling Outfits being invention items Invention Batch 2 brought us more reasons to train Divination with the Divine vacuum as well as the need for charges to power machines this meant a large amount of players returned to Divination during the initial release. So why where the Divine simulacrum outfits not included? Now that we have entered December BOTH the Divination and Dungeonnering outfits will fit the theme of the skilling week "Gathering and Support" that will run from December 22nd – 25th giving us the satisfaction of finally getting Divination outfit 2 months late and getting Dungeoneering outfit 2 months early.

One last thing to note is in the time since Menaphoses release we have had 2 Elite skilling outfit events on treasure hunter. An Elite Skilling Outfit Bonanza that ran from July 5th – July 10th and a Second Chance Tuesday on August 8th.

(I would like to give apologies and thanks to you reddit for putting with what has become another of those reminder of the X threads.)

Jagex, can we include this in the coldfix too? Switch the "Check" and "Teleport" while the wilderness sword is keybind. It's been like 2-3 weeks and this hasn't been fixed...

Pantheon aura as endgame Menaphos reward

Posted: 04 Dec 2017 10:10 AM PST

Right now with Menaphos, we have three issues:

  1. Menaphos' reputation feels really unrewarding
  2. Our Man in the North quest has basically no reward
  3. With both silver and gold warden, we now have unlockables that are certainly achievable in their current state, but pretty much have only been done through a limited time aura available to a few that paid for it.

All three of those issues could be solved in one swift move, by making the pantheon aura (potentially in nerfed state by points earned or lower effects) available through achieving certain things in Menaphos. We have 6 effects, 1 quest with basically no rewards and 5 different reputations.

I propose the following order of unlocks according to the power and nature of effects:

  • Base aura and Feast of Amascut (10% increase to rep gain for an hr) effect unlocked by completing Our Man in the North. Gives arguably the weakest effect relatively early when it is nice to get, and helps unlocking the final quest slightly faster for those who only want the quests. This quest would be required for other effects. Effect relatively well balanced already.
  • Bounty of Crondis (Divine loc cap increase by 100%) unlocked at t10 OVERALL reputation. First additional effect that unlocks, only saves a bit of money for those that use their divine loc cap. Vis wax still remain high price due to aura resets. If too strong, nerf to 50% cap increase (vis wax can extend another 50%).
  • Wisdom of Scabaras (10% xp boost for an hr) unlocked at t10 WORKER reputation. Helps out the arguably weakest faction reward-wise, attractive to those that prefer skilling. Fitting considering scabaras' nature. Potentially lower to 5% if considered too strong.
  • Joy of Apmeken (gives full effect of pulse core) unlocked at t10 MERCHANT reputation. Again, helps out a weak faction reward-wise and fits lore-wise considering apmeken is quite the social creature, and merchants are the most social of the four factions. If too strong, give partial pulse core ffect.
  • Strength of Het (Max lifepoint increased by 20%, capped at 1k) unlocked at t10 PORTS reputation. Sailors are strong and sturdy. This effect is already capped to limit strength.
  • Ward of Itchlarin (2 extra signs for an hr, does not work for hc ironmen) unlocked at t10 IMPERIAL faction. A fighting faction certainly would see the value in rising to fight again. If too strong, nerf to 1 sign per activation or perhaps only one use a day.

Do note that COST FOR ACTIVATION OF EFFECT and AMOUNT OF POINTS FOR EFFECT can both be changed to combat making it overpowered. Doing this turns menaphos from a mid-tier city to something that rewards even the highest level player, and gives the players incentive to return and finish up their reputation. Just feels like a waste to let an interesting effect get removed while we have the perfect content to match it with. The aura is a fitting reward for the effort put in.

Whether the effects would be relocked for those already owning would be up to jagex.

runescape in china

Posted: 05 Dec 2017 12:24 AM PST

so after around 14 years of runescaping I have finally maxed, and what i am most proud of is that I have achieved this in China. a small dungeon takes around 2 minutes...but in China it takes around 20 minute if you are lucky. It's not the 500 ms ping that is frustrating, I can live with 500 ms ping. It is the constant connection timeouts that kills me. It is also the only reason why I am not getting a premier membership as well. There is no way I can do end game pvm in China. Apart from waiting for Jagex to install a server in China (fingers crossed if they ever will)... are there any other ways to make pvm possible in China? /endofrant

thanks

PSA: 9/10 Castaways available today, excluding Oakheart

Posted: 04 Dec 2017 07:00 PM PST

Today (05/12) is a good day for people working on the arc to collect those messages in a bottle! Get hunting!

Edit for details: "Castaways are non-player characters that can be found in the Arc by finding a message in a bottle and using the treasure map contained in the bottle to locate the castaway. Progress of which castaways the player has found can be seen in the Arc Journal. Finding all the castaways unlocks the [Name] the Castaway title." from the wiki article which also contains locations.

Completion of the Arc Journal is not a comp or trim req, but is required for the Salty title.
