Posted: 26 Dec 2017 10:14 AM PST My son is a huge fan of yours, he goes to bed watching you every night. Yesterday on Christmas he had a bad accident and has been hospitalized in All Childrens hospital of Tampa. Before he went into the surgery room the last thing he asked me was if we would make it home in time to watch shroud. He is recovering from the procedure and doing great but the doctors have told us they will have to keep him here for up to 10 days. We have his tablet here and he will be watching you tonight and was wondering if you could just make a quick shout out to him. That would absolutely make his day and put a smile on his face during this rough situation. His name is Carter Schlabaugh. https://imgur.com/a/X98vt Update: Thank you everyone for all the support. I didnt realize that shroud was on vacation when I made the post, but we will probably be here for at least another week. I appreciate all the suggestions and will see if there is a way to make it happen when he gets back. [link] [comments]

A tried and true way to deter cheaters from coming back Posted: 25 Dec 2017 11:26 PM PST Playing against cheaters in PUBG hurts even more than most game, and that's simply due to the nature of PUBG, there's no worse feeling than playing well for 20+ minutes, surviving against 99 other players only to be killed by a cheater. We all know that we can never really stop cheats in a game like PUBG, but we can make it really hard and ugly for cheaters to come back. A little history first, while Valve's CSGO had the biggest number of players for a competitive FPS game, it was expected that it would also attract a lot of cheaters, and it did just that. Valve fought long and hard to try and handle the large amount of cheaters plaguing CSGO, their anti-cheat system, VAC would ban thousands of players in waves, only to see them easily return again. There was simply no deterrent for cheaters not to easily come back. They know that no amount of anti-cheat will truly stop cheaters, but a time consuming process that cheaters would be forced to go through, well that might just deter them enough, and indeed it did, here's how. Valve slowly introduced a prime match making system, that is tied to a phone number and requires your profile to be at a certain level. That hit the cheaters and it hit them hard, for one, a phone number can only be tied to one account, so getting that account banned also meant that phone number gets banned as well, meaning the cheater would now need a new phone number to re-join prime match making. Two, and in my opinion this is the bigger and most painful hit the cheaters took, your profile level needs to be above a certain level (21) to play prime match making. This essentially hit the cheaters and the smurfers where it hurts, and that is, their TIME. It was now time consuming to re-level a new account into prime match making, and a cheater would think twice before cheating on his/her prime account out of fear of the long grind to get back in. For example in CSGO if you were to play 7-10 hours/week (enough to exhaust your xp rate down to "reduced" each week), it would take you 8-10 weeks to hit Rank 21, playing more than 7-10 h/week will not help you much due to hitting the "reduced" xp rate. After the implementation and tweaking of the prime match making system, CSGO saw a huge drop in cheaters in prime match making games, for the reasons explained above. Now of course this doesn't eliminate all cheaters, but it helped tremendously. The system worked so well and generated great results that Valve also introduced it for Dota2. Keep in mind that prime match making is not required to play the game, players can still play non-prime match making if they chose to, or if they don't yet qualify for prime. I know what you're going to say, "I don't want to grind my way to prime match making, I have X amount of hours in the game already", fear not, the solution is simple: Because the game has been out for a while and Bluehole has data on our accounts, anyone that played >80h of PUBG should qualify for prime match making, and hence would be spared the grind. So current players should have no fear of grinding their way in, and new players wouldn't mind due to them experiencing the game for the first time, after all non-prime and prime are exactly the same game. The player count of PUBG is more than enough to warrant a Prime Match Making system, the sooner we get it, the better it will be. TLDR: introduce prime match making similar to that of CSGO/Dota2, Requiring:
EDIT: i see quite a few comments saying that this will not stop cheaters, just a quick reminder that it's not meant to stop them (we can't stop them), it's meant to discourage them from cheating or coming back. [link] [comments]
