[Idea] Solo/start button in privately created raids to start raids immediately.

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 04:31 PM PST

The feature is there for normal gym battles. Although the lobby timer is short, it feels like an eternity watching the timer go down if your soloing.

I understand not having it in the public raids, but in a private raid it could work.

I think the way it could be accomplished is to have the "Solo" button appear on the main screen along side the Battle and private group buttons.

Thoughts?

Niantic, let 2018 be the year of balancing and fixes.

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 10:21 AM PST

Niantic, you have made incredible progress throughout 2017. Besides one and a half new generations, you also introduced, among many new features, reworked gyms, a raid system, AR+, weather, increased communication, and especially a plethora of real and in-game events like the Safari Zones. Pokemon Go has changed immensely for the better compared to last year's end, and I applaud your team for such improvements when you could have instead chosen a path of greed and monetization that developers like Kabam and EA have.

However, there are still many issues that plague the playerbase. Spoofers and botters still run rampant, the EX Raid system is heavily flawed, and rural areas continue to cry for the spawns and features they need.

2017 was a year of development. The state of the game right now is a massive improvement from last year's end. I ask Niantic to focus at least the first half of 2018 on improving the features we already have, including game balancing, improving raids, rethinking the EX system, hiring coordinators and community directors to properly execute new features and events, and if possible, and, if possible, fighting the cheaters in our community.

Let 2018 be a year of improvement. Thank you.

Edit: This got quite the attention here! To clarify, by "balancing and fixes" I imply changing or introducing features to improve existing ones, not just bug fixes. It would be something like the Gym rework where such changes get counted as new features of some sort. Chances are Niantic will introduce new features and QOL updates as well (alongside the rest of Gen III) but I, and quite a couple of you, want game balancing to be a top priority.

Anyone else feels like delibird should've thrown something at us?

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 04:29 AM PST

There I was about to catch my very 1st delibird when I saw that it reached into its bag. I got super excited thinking it was going to throw stardust at me (just seems like it was) only to find out that it just waved?

As I'm writing this I now wonder if it's a troll move on Niantic to fool us into thinking it was going to throw something at us. I hope we can expect to see it throw something eventually. That'd be cool.

[Discussion] Lickitung and other White Whales?

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 08:59 PM PST

For a long time, Lickitung was the 'mon I could never find in the wild or even spot on the radar, and never hatched from an egg.

Today, I finally found one at a park and caught it! So then I was thinking about the others that still elude me: some make sense because they're rares like Hitmonchan, Miltank, Unown, and Aerodactyl. I'm not an intense player so I still don't have any of the starters' final evolutions. But other gaps are a little embarrassing, like the fact that I've never caught a Wobbuffet or a Duduo (although TSR says there's a Duduo nest near me so tomorrow I may make the trip).

Which Pokemon have you still failed to add to your dex? Rares? Expensive evolutions? Or something that seems extremely common everywhere else?

Pokémon Go 3000

You Know, It Could Be Possible....

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 06:34 PM PST

With some tweaks, along with the handling for the new AR+ mode, Pokemon Go could have a feature with wearing something like a Microsoft Hololens, except covering the entire eyes, that implements full Augmented Reality into real life. By adding joysticks to use like in the HTC Vive, you could actually physically throw a pokeball to catch a Pokemon. And to add to that, it would be safer too. You would be looking around at your surroundings, not looking at a phone screen. With current technology I've seen, what I've described seems like a complete possibility in the near future.

[Complaint] The Silph Road confirms my theory from months ago: Lure and incense pokemon are more aggressive and Rattata is the prime culprit

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 06:54 AM PST

Wonderful research published by The Silph Road yesterday:

https://thesilphroad.com/science/wild-pokemon-encounter-mechanics/

I posted about this months ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemongo/comments/7eibhm/complaint_pokemon_obtained_from_incense_are_more/

The basic idea:

  • Pokemon from lures, incense, and raids are more aggressive
  • Rattata is more aggressive than even Tyranitar and Snorlax!
  • There is a distribution on the delay time between attacks that is determined at encounter time

Niantic, this needs to be drastically tweaked. A lured Rattata is one of the most difficult catches in the game, and that makes absolutely no sense. Please rethink these values and scale them to the rarity of the pokemon species.

Pokémon go plus very buggy

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 02:09 PM PST

About 15 min ago my plus started acting up. The light flashes randomly and it doesn't detect any Pokémon. I replaced the battery few days ago so that's not it. I tried to reconnect it, restart my phone, reinstall Pokémon but nothing worked. Does anyone else experience this? Thanks!

Filtering by IVs

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 02:24 AM PST

I'm finding myself with 1498 'mons. To transfer the 'mons with low IVs I should appraisal every single one of them. Niantic already added the search bar and now it's possible to filter by species, name, type, number, cp and hp. Wouldn't be great if it was possible to filter the 'mons by IVs too? I would use the filter for the 'mons under 70% IVs and then use the mass transfer feature.

Pokémon GO in Cairo?

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 08:35 PM PST

Hey all, I'm currently heading towards Egypt and am starting off in Cairo. I was just wondering if there was a pogo map for the city and if the three regionals plusle, zangoose and corsola are easily available? Any advice or help would be great. Side note I am heading towards Luxor and a few other places if they are better but just starting with the capital.

Trainer Club login not working

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:50 PM PST

I've been having a lot of trouble signing in to Pokemon Go with the Trainer Club the past few days. I have been having some issues with mobile data recebtly, but the problem persists even on Wi-Fi. Has anyone else also been having troubles? If its just me then at least I know where to start troubleshooting! Thanks
