Coral Polyps; a way to regrow coral Posted: 28 Dec 2017 08:31 AM PST The addition of coral blocks will give a new range of decorative blocks in a variety of colours. However, to get these will involve destroying the ocean floor over large areas to get a sufficient supply. To avoid this, coral should be easily renewable via coral polyps. Polyps would be to corals what saplings are to trees, and could be planted on the ocean floor or on existing corals to eventually grow into a new section of reef. The polyps could look something like this picture of a polyp in Minecraft. Real colonial coral polyps are much more numerous and smaller (a few millimetres), but the single sapling-sized polyp is more recognisable with Minecraft's graphics. My picture is modeled after sun coral polyps, but more types of polyps could be included for the different colours or types of coral. To obtain coral polyps, one would break coral blocks without using silk touch. This would give a chance to drop either sand or a coral polyp, resulting in both coral and sand being renewable. Getting actual coral blocks would require the use of a silk touch pickaxe. [link] [comments]

What other mobs would you like to see in Update Aquatic? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:28 AM PST So far, we know of four new mobs coming for the 1.14 update, or the "Update Aquatic", and they are fish, dolphins, turtles, and "the monster of the night skies" (which is not really related to the ocean). Are there any other aquatic creatures you would like to see as mobs in this update? Discuss. Three mobs I would like to see are seagulls, stingrays, and crabs. Seagulls would add a nice ambience to oceans outside of the water, stingrays I want because they're some of my favorite fish in real life, and crabs could be the first land mob to not float in water. They'd be neutral, and will pinch once if attacked, but drop some delicious crab meat. [link] [comments]

How to get that ‘cozy’ feeling? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:33 PM PST To start off, I like new updates and I'm not 'blinded by nostalgia'. But I think everyone can relate to that feeling of having a simple base that felt completely personal. This would be a place you're proud of and take refuge in during the night. You'd also feel awesome because you made a 2x2 piston door and water dispensers on your farm. Obviously this is related a lot to being new at the game. I was wondering how you keep this feeling and if you had any tips and tricks. I hope what I'm saying makes sense, it's hard to explain. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:53 PM PST I have been looking to get into modded MC for a little while now, but have never found the mod that really stuck with me. Any suggestions on fun modpacks that use modern(ish) versions of the game? [link] [comments]

Redstone clock with ON signal for a few seconds, then OFF for significantly longer? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:31 PM PST I want to make a redstone clock which generates an ON signal for about 5 seconds, then OFF for about 30 seconds, then repeats. Can this be done? So far the clocks I've found either transmit very short signals (less than a second) or transmit longer signals, but of equal durations. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 06:35 AM PST I have an AFK fish farm, and use it for both fishing and xp gaining, so is there a way if I have a tool with mending on it to have the XP go to the tool instead of my bar? Do I have to hold it in my off hand or something? [link] [comments]
