Hearthstone - Newbie Tuesdays Weekly Discussion

Newbie Tuesdays Weekly Discussion

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 04:10 PM PST

Hello members of the /r/hearthstone community,

This is part of a series of weekly threads aimed at both new and old players from the community. It is designed so that everybody may ask any and all questions regarding the game's mechanics, decks, strategies and more.

Please keep it clean and try to add more than just a one or two word response. As the goal of this post is to increase the community's knowledge, the thought process matters as much as the answer! There is also a Theorycrafting Thursday weekly post, for those who wish to discuss some of the more intricate aspects of the game.

Sticky Threads and Guides - Great resources for new players!

Note: I am a bot. Questions or feedback regarding this thread? Message the moderators.

First time legend with Fibonacci's Control Warrior!

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 06:48 AM PST

Just got legend with the list that Fibonacci was playing, wanted to share my achieviment and the decklist.

Here's the proof: https://imgur.com/a/LvQYI

It is good against lock(I don't know for sure, but I think my score was 10-3 against control/cube)/secret mage/druids in general/rogue, can win against razakus priest(my score was 3-3, I think, but it is hard, you need to hero power everyturn, sometimes luck out on the shield to give you 15 armor, if you are facing too many priests, you can tech dirty rat to kill one of his tools, I think Velen is the easier one to kill(stay in hand longer and they don't have many creatures at that point of the game), if you kill him, they wont have damage to kill you).

There is 1 matchup that I didn't win any game and don't think this deck can win, Big Priest. Too much power...

This is the list: AAECAQcIS/IFkAeyCNHDAo7OAqDOAp/TAguiBPwEkQb/B/sMm8ICvsMCxsMCzM0Cz+UCz+cCAA==

I changed one card only, King Mosh for Gromm (I didn't have king mosh, so I put gromm to use as a removel tool, and to get some reach/face damage/and some unexpected lethal.)

If you like control warrior, you will have fun!

TIL Swapping decks with Togwaggle makes you lose all your buffs

Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:55 AM PST

Not exactly earth-shattering info here, but I had a unique situation happen with my Jungle Giants deck where I swapped out a "buffed deck" (all minions were 0 mana) with my opponent and he didn't get the buffs. Then when he swapped back, they went back to being full cost.

All I want for Christmas is Yogg.

Posted: 25 Dec 2017 02:19 PM PST

I know it's Christmas, so I'll get right to the point: Yogg needs to get un-nerfed when he rotates into Wild. I'm not the first person to float this idea, but it's a good one and I refuse to let it die.

I know there were a number of good reasons for the nerf to Yogg-Saron, Hope's End. In tournaments, in particular, he made things a little wacky for those who like to pretend that Hearthstone is a serious skill-testing battle of minds, rather than clown-fiesta wizard poker (and God bless you for keeping the dream alive). So when you ruined Yogg, I bit my tongue and bided my time.

Well, now that time is done. The newest expansion is settling down, and Old Gods is rotating out of standard in just a few months, so we're talking about this. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, so let's make some noise.

Let's be honest, he won't be the most broken thing in the format. If Naga-Giants can go under the radar this long, Yogg won't even make a ripple.

But he will be fun again, because Yogg was the greatest Timmy card Hearthstone's ever had. The Spikes have had their time, now it's time to let RNGesus take the wheel again.

Edit: I'm truly sorry for all the deep anguish and righteous indignation this goofy suggestion has caused. Show me on the doll where Yogg touched you. :D

Person I added after a Hearthstone game unexpectedly gave me 2 KnC packs for Christmas. Faith in adding people after games restored.

Imgur link to gift

So, about a year ago, I was playing a match against a player named ShadowWolf. Now, I remember realizing that he had lethal on board but the lethal wasn't that obvious. ShadowWolf missed the lethal, giving me the win.

Soon after the game I sent him a friend request and hoped he would add me because we had a great game and I wanted to discuss the game and point out the missed the lethal. Thankfully, he did add me and we had a great talk.

He stayed on my friends list and we would occasionally help each other out with the Spectate or the Play a friend quest. Today, I got an email saying he had bought me 2 KnC packs for Christmas and I was totally not expecting that. So, I wanted to share the awesomeness of ShadowWolf with the HS community.

Also, don't auto decline post match friend requests, not all of us are players who just want to flame you for your deck choices. With the new year coming up can we all resolve to not BM/rage on our opponents no matter how salty we are?
