Warbeast armor: aka stop making metal armour look like plastic cheap toys Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:22 PM PST Title. Warbeast has one of the sickest looks among them all, but it's ruined by its texture. Abyss and other metal dyes are shit on this armour. It doesn't blend in, doesn't have any metallic effect compared to other metal skins, and it's always pale and out of tone. Please reshade it. Returning Player: Unfair treatment (Transmutations) Posted: 28 Dec 2017 09:46 AM PST Hey guys! I would like to know your opinion on this topic concerning a support ticket that i started about my legendary weapons. In the first and a half year of GW2 i managed to craft three legendary weapons after a lot of effort and time spend. At the time, legendary weapons had default stats which could not be changed unless you used the 'transmutation crystal' which would also change the status of the weapons which i used, because, power/toughness/vitality was useless while playing A/T, SB ranger. After that, because of how demanding life and my studies were i went off guild wars 2 for almost three years. Coming back i found out that currently legendary gear has changeable stats, a pleasant surprise which made me contact support so i could ask them if they could reverse the weapons status to legendary. After going back and forth with the GM who was not aware of the old transmutation system, my ticket got transferred to a different GM who sadly responded with this: **''During the time that we implemented the new system, we provided players with free items so that they could detach their legendary items from the ones that they transmuted them for. Sadly, if you did not log on during that time or take advantage of the option to reverse the transmutations you would lose the Legendary items. With this, if we're unable to locate the items were on your account before, we would not be able to replace them for you. I know this isn't something you'd like to hear but as much as we love to help our players, this one is out of our hands. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. ''** At this point i am really frustrated with the whole situation because i put some work to obtain those items, i really thing that this situation is unfair. I am basically being barred from accessing the actual status of the weapons that i have worked for so hard because of the faulty transmutation system that was initially introduced. What do you guys think? what should i do? Am i asking for too much? Edit: Screenshots of the original weapons that i have also sent to support: https://imgur.com/a/OABZg [link] [comments]

Undocumented changes to aura tics in Raids Posted: 28 Dec 2017 06:26 AM PST A few weeks ago, when the 12.12.17 patch hit, changes to the aura tics in Raids have been made. I first noticed it on the upcoming full clear on the monday after patch day. I wasn't sure if it was just me that messed up or if they really changed something, so I wanted to be sure about it before making this post. Due to christmas, it took me a bit more time to check on every boss but I'm now certain of the following: Pre PatchBlockable Auras
Unlockable Auras
Post PatchBlockable Auras
Unlockable Auras
In short: Except for Matthias, every other aura in Raids is now unblockable. I assume they did this in order to make the new "Distortion/Aegis share" more viable, as Aegis no longer gets stripped by most auras. About Matthias, I'd simply say they forgot about him as it seems odd for him to be the only blockable leftover. This affects mostly Chronomancers and their opening with Echo of Memory. Especially when you are not the tank (or if there is none), you might want to think about getting your blocks from the environment such as first blues at Vale Guardian, shrooms at Slothasor, active platforms at Mursaat Overseer, etc. This also has a major impact on Guardians as Unscathed Contender becomes more viable. I also noticed that I was no longer able to dodge the aura of VG during split. I haven't tested all auras regarding "undodgeable", but I assume it's just how it is now. So don't bother trying to evade the green/blue Guardian aura tics anymore. :( Have a nice day! :3 If I made a mistake somewhere please let me know! [link] [comments]
Experience Booster does not seem to improve PVP reward track gain at all?? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 04:25 PM PST According to the wiki page, the Experience Booster gives
However, it does not actually work in game. In my last unranked arena game, I was awarded 510 track points for losing it. With +50% exp booster + 10% guild hall booster, I was expecting 510*(1+0.5+0.1) = 816, but I only received 560, which is +10% gain only. Does anyone notice the same? [link] [comments]

+14 Agony Infusion Deconstruction? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 02:42 PM PST Is there any way to deconstruct a +14 Agony Resistance Infusion to 2 +13's? The INFUZ-5959 golem in the fractal lobby only goes up to +13 for AR deconstruction. [link] [comments]
Random explosions around the game maps. Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:08 AM PST Not sure what could be the cause, but i've started to see more and more weird "explosions", like someone shooting stuff, in different world maps, be it expansions or not, even in LA / Divinity's Reach any idea what is it ? I've took a small video sample of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXVakO2QAts It gets even worse in Maguuma, when you think you're being chased by raptors / fungus, and instead it's these things exploding. Wouldn't be surprised if Anet hired Micheal Bay. [link] [comments]
Human male player character seems to tired of everyone's crap Posted: 28 Dec 2017 04:03 AM PST I can't speak for the human female or the other races. But the voice actor in HoT and PoF does a good job of a making the character seem that way and I love it. It's literally one world ending problem after another I'd be the same. [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:24 PM PST I played GW2 a long time ago in beta and everyone was ridiculously social. People knew each other on the servers and I remember being part of a giant group photo the minute before servers shut down. I stopped playing a bit after that until HoT expansion and found friends through mutual interest of doing the auric basin runs. But after I got bored with grinding, I realized I didn't really enjoy the game. It's of course on my part to find my own enjoyment, but its something I find myself struggling with. I like WvW and I like helping people but I never really make genuine friends -- more like acquaintances. To people who are similar, how do you find enjoyment out of the game? What are some tips you have? [link] [comments]
A word on crowd control conditions and more. Posted: 28 Dec 2017 03:45 AM PST Hello. I already touched upon this topic a few times, but this time I'd like to go a bit more in depth into the almost invisible issue of conditions losing their uniqueness in combat. The introduction of breakbars broke a bunch of them, but as seen in a recent patch (Wing 1 - All bosses are no longer immune to weakness.) // nevermind, I thought that now weakness and its effect actually work on bosses - it doesn't, it just can be applied now. it's not really an issue to bring back a condi effect to work despite breakbars being up. Now IF making some condi effects work only under certain circumstances like a specific skill being used was possible, this could lead to creation of really interesting encounters. But let's start with why this is even an issue.
And it seems that Anet is slowly backing up from their HoT decisions, where they introduced a bunch of unique effects like GOTL that turned out to heavily influence PvE balance. If I had to guess, Alacrity would get a similar treatment as well if it wasn't the main pillar of Chrono. Unique effects shouldn't be widely avaliable, as that could lead to the same issue Anet had in GW1 and I bet they realise that. So now might serves damage increasing, protection serves passive damage mitigation etc. GOTL stepped into the might field, so it was taken down.
Now here is the issue. As much as some conditions have really interesting effects like reducing healing, incresing cast speed, increasing ability interval etc, it's not required to use them in game, unlike with other popular mechanics like reflects. And I think this is a mistake. But I see where the problem with introducing them is - forcing players to use them would need good telegraphing. And it just can't be done unless it's some kind of description / vague dialogue. But once players understand that there might be need to use certain conditions by hearing those, they wouldn't need that sort of telegraphing anymore. After all, there's only 8 of them, and a few are already used in raids. Cripple and Immob being the prime examples. But what about the others? Here are a few examples of how they could be used.
Greatly increases cooldown. Imagine a boss that uses an attack that wipes your party every 2 minutes. But there's an object that you can interact with to save your party. It spawns every 2.5 minutes. You'd need to upkeep chill on the boss to increase the cooldown to stay alive. This not only adds one mechanic that bases on the basics of GW2 combat, but also adds another role to be filled. Someone would need to upkeep chill on the boss, enabling some more interesting comps (or eles would have to rotate differently).
Imagine Fractal Mossheart's spirit bomb attack (the one which has you run to corners of the arena and put the spirits back into clefts) but without a timer. The only timer would be the boss' ability casting animation which you could slow down with well, slow. Slowing down every single boss ability could a bit over powered, so just make it work only when breakbar is up. But if you break it, you wipe. This could probably be done by a single chrono, but that's still one more interesting role to fill.
A green circle spawns, one who stands in it gets a debuff. If he is attacked three times by a mob that spawns afterwards, the mob dies. But you need to force the mob to attack you while also not attacking others - it would deal horrendous damage whenever hitting more than one person. These are just a few stupid ideas to prove a point - that there are possible scenarios where crowd control condis could become parts of core mechanics. There are interesting effects at the feet of GW2's combat system that are just left out of PvE, ultimately leading to repetetiveness of the same old stuff in all forms of organized instanced content. Now comes the question (also serves as a TL;DR): We have reflects, we have aegis, how is forcing us to use them (Matthias, Deimos CM) different from making us use Chill, Slow or Taunt? They'd be just as bad telegraphed, but we'd figure it out and enjoy it. [link] [comments]
[GW2] Sb/Sb SOULBEAST Benchmark 32k Posted: 27 Dec 2017 10:21 PM PST As per the thread about Forgiving Raid Builds for Nearly Top-Tier DPS, I went and finally learned how to make a video and have it included for those who were asking about it.
Slight variation over the build given in the thread as I use Superior Sigil of Venom over Superior Sigil of Earth, due to the math simulations giving it a small advantage, and it's useful for situations where cleave is involved/required.
For the rotation: You can probably tell rather quickly it's easy. Shortbow 2 and 4 should always be on cooldown as well as all your utilities. You should pair your 2 instant-casts (Vulture Stance and Sharpening Stone) together with One Wolf Pack (.75s base cast; .5s quickness cast) so they always line up. Viper's Nest: You will quickly realize that once the fight starts going your rhythm will change so it's up to you to realize where is best to use your trap that doesn't interrupt the flow of your rotation.
For the pet: I only use the F2 (Lynx), F1 (Warthog). This is because the time it takes to cast the F3, you could have fired off enough autos to do the same amount of DPS, or it interferes with the CD of your other skills. The power that Light on Your Feet brings is strong enough to not use the F3 unless you are not flanking at the time, or want a little extra cleave (or quickness). The Bristleback is a special case for fights with lots of adds to abuse the mechanic of your F1 as IE Xera will body-block all 9 bleeding projectiles whilst your F2 is a mini Sharpening Stone (very useful for ranged fights like VG Green Circles).

Is there some class that can do ~20k fractal dps with super simple rotation(mostly auto attacks) Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:58 PM PST Hi , my friend just started the game , and im not that much experienced myself , but i do decent damages with my reaper. He wants to do around 20k dps with some very simple rotations(mostly autos) , is there something like it? [link] [comments]
WvW players, what do you do to gear your toons up in full ascended? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 07:55 PM PST Yo, as a mainly PvE player, I was curious as to how players who focus mainly on WvW get their ascended armor. Do you guys just duke it out in exotics until you craft them? Is the WvW vendor your best method? Do you pray for lootbag drops? Hoard gold to instacraft when a new balance patch hits? It seems you guys have the most need for the most varied stat types and change the most often, so what do you guys all do? [link] [comments]
Are there more ways to get downed/defeated in open world, without "help" of enemy NPCs? Posted: 28 Dec 2017 01:48 AM PST I want to take some screenshots of a character during reviving animation in specific place (for example, druid taking care of flowers), but as far as I know, we don't have any /revive emote. But I can place a defeated character nearby and later erase it from the picture. I want to avoid using enemy NPCs, because if they are close enough to get one of my chars downed, then they are close enough to disturb me when I take the screenshot. I found some poisoned berries near one of golden hearts in Brisban Wildlands, and I can eat them to get poisoned. The problem is, it deals so low dmg that I would need at least 30 of them to die once. If there is no other way, I will stick to these berries, but I'd rather not waste too much time getting them if I there are other options. [link] [comments]
