A cool trick for killers

Disabling a bear trap should require a skill-check

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:40 AM PST

Trapper is the original killer of our beloved game, yet he isn't quite up there in terms of power.

I would love to see BVHR implement a skill-check when survivors are trying to disable a trap. If they hit a "great", then it goes faster. If they miss, there should be some penalty for the survivor (in addition to the visual cue), like a cooldown timer before they can disarm it again, or perhaps a bleed effect for 30 seconds. If they made these changes, they could also easily make much more interesting and VIABLE add-ons for the Trapper, instead of all the sabotage-related ones.

For example, they could make an add-on that increases difficulty of the skill-check, or one that injures the survivor if they fail it. Just throwing out some ideas here, as I see no reason for why the poster-boy of the game shouldn't be brought a little out of the shadows.

Why do Rank 20 killers have to play against Rank 10 SWF groups?

Seems sort of unfair.

Trapper needs some love

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 07:01 AM PST

I play trapper really often and with joy, but against high-ranks it becomes ridiculously painful. Every time I set a trap they know exactly where they are and disarm them easily. Generally it is a little bit odd that some teenagers can disarm bear traps with bare hands, although they have zero knowledge in hunting-equipment. But that aside, the trapper becomes the punching bag for survivors soon the rank goes high. (I know it is not just the trapper alone who gets bullied by high-rank-survivors)

I think he needs a little counter buff in my opinion. My idea is that every time a survivor wants to disarm a trap he has to do 1 or 2 skill checks. They are like the doctors „snap out of it" skill checks but maybe a little bit smaller. When they successfully hit the skill checks the trap is disarmed, but when they fail they are get trapped. I think this prevents the survivors from being too careless and they are forced to think and analyze the situation before they intend to disarming any traps. The danger of being trapped if you fail is high and so the game is more balanced. The skill success zone can also be reduced by add-ons and perks like "unnerving presence".

What do you think of the idea?

As of today, new survivors have no way of getting the achivement

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 01:26 AM PST

I just noticed this while popping down a Freddy splinter as Wraith. I scrolled down to my achievements (for fun, to revisit everything) and realized that new survivors (people who came after the bloodweb 1.8.2 update) have no way of getting this achivement.

Gifts for the fog - Burn an ultra rare offering.

As you people may know, the only ultra rare survivor that exists to this time is New Moon Bouquet, which no longer spawns in bloodwebs.

This is such a minor issue and it's true killers can acquire this achievement with relative ease but still it's just one of those things you just shake your head at. Maybe time for a new survivor offering? :)

How old are the survivors?

I know Quentin and Laurie are 17, Bill is in his 60s. Do we have the actual ages of anyone else?

Why haven't they implemented a killer concede yet?

Posted: 23 Dec 2017 12:06 PM PST

For those of you who don't know, a while back they were talking about adding an option to the game for the killer to concede as soon as one of the exit gates was open. The survivors would get their 5000 points, and this would only be available once the survivors had opened the exit gates.

Why has this not been implemented into the game yet? It seems like a really simple quality of life option that would severely cut down on the amount of dickitry survivors could get up to with the exit gates open. I know they said they wanted to wait to do this until the stalemate cube, but I've heard them talk about the hatch since then and there has been NOTHING on this.
