5 new practice mods out on Mirage and Cache

Posted: 21 Dec 2017 05:07 AM PST

TL:DR I've applied my new practice mods to two more maps, Cache and Mirage, please check them out and tell me what you think!

Hey guys Yesber here. Just wanted to inform you about some new releases of mine that I think you'll enjoy. I'm developing practice mods for CS:GO and if you browse the workshop you might have stumbled over them already. I make these mods to lower the learning curve for people just picking up the game but I hope they will be relevant for intermediate and more experienced players as well. The mods in these two releases are:

  • Prefire - an update of my old prefire maps, you move around and try to preaim angles where people usually peek. Bots spawn in random positions each time and there are different difficulty levels. Also there's a new setting "bot rush" where the bots run towards you with knives instead of shooting. 5 routes on each map. Improves movement and crosshair placement.
  • Peek - new mod where you experience peeking angles from both the t and ct perspective. Bots can move and peek or stand static in a number of positions. 30 angles on each map. Improves aim and map knowledge.
  • Smoke - new mod I've worked on a ton where your camera follows your nades like in spectator mode. Makes it much easier to find new throws and iterate on them over and over without having to noclip. I've added 18 throws on each map that I think is the most interesting.
  • Fire - new mod basically the same as the smoke mod but for molotovs. 18 throws on each mostly translated from youtube videos.
  • Flash - same but for flashes. 18 throws from the community.

These mods uses the same system I built for my new bot aim map. It reuses a lot of the functionality like for example the bot spawning algorithm and the built-in database structure. Please tell me if you have any idea or suggestion on how I could improve these mods or if you have a cool practice or warmup idea that you think I could make. I'll stick around the thread to answer any questions you might have.

GL HF and Merry Christmas everyone :)

EDIT: Thanks for all the positive and constructive feedback guys! I'm going to bed now but I'll read through the comments again tomorrow. I've responded to most of the questions but keep asking if you come up with any new ones!

Thank you so much for the gold! :)

How to be a clutchmaster, the easy way!

Posted: 21 Dec 2017 10:19 AM PST

Disclaimer: first, sorry for bad gramma and spelling, english isn't my native language. Second, I'm no FPL player, my rank is GE, but even in my rank i see a lot of people who doesn't get the basics right. this guide is not super in-depth and if you think you are a decent clutcher, you will probably find my points obvious, but I'm sure it can help some people out! :)

1. make the decision, yes or no!

There is nothing more frustrating than when people can't decide whether to go for the clutch or just save and then end up dying trying to go for exit frags, that in the long run will do nothing for the economy. I'm fine with you going for it and I'm fine with you saving, but I'm not okay with you throwing away 5k worth of equipment for nothing.

2. creat a plan, even if it's a bad one!

Doesn't have to be something special it can be as simple as; smoke A then go B or, smoke A fake footsteps towards B and then go back A. No matter what your plan is, it will make it more manageable to win the clutch however, if something obvious comes up that seems as a better option, dont be afraid to switch up the plan.

3. break it up in to manageable steps. think of it as three 1v1's or two 1v1's.

This is the obvious one and can be done in many ways. One possible way that I would like to mention is, if possible in terms of time, try to go MIA for some time. It will often make the enemy team second guess themselves and make them spread out across the map.

4. do what your opponent wouldn't expect.

This can ofc sometimes be impossible if you are stuck in a corner, but if you have the chance don't just plant the bomb and go to the most obvious afterplant position you can find. Try to trick out your opponent with clever positioning. An example could be graveyard on Inferno, if you as T plant the bomb default for short and apartments, people will rarely check graveyard and you will be able to backstab them really easy. Stealing other peoples tricks can be a really big help too.

5. keybind mute all, makes it way easier to concentrate when 4 team mates aren't yelling at you.

It definitely can be useful sometimes especially when you have... younger team mates ... but it can takes some time getting use to using it.

6. Trust your sounds!

Sounds is your best friend in a clutch so use it!

Hope it will help some of you guys out! ;) merry Xmas!

r/GlobalOffensive, I am putting together a special show to end an amazing year of CS:GO with a few special guests and I want to hear from you guys on your opinions of some of the highlights from 2017!

As you can see I was meant to say in 60minutes but then it took me longer to put this post together haha!

On the show we will be covering: * Top 5 moments * Top 10 players * Best event * Best team * Top 10 frags * Teams to watch in 2018

It is going to be a very chilled out show, with some cool surprises and I certainly don't expect you all to agree with our choices and would encourage you guys to let me know how you think it should go!

If you have any other questions, we can discuss that, I want this to be an open invitation to look back at 2017 and look forward to everything 2018 has to offer, it can only get bigger from here!

The show starts at 19:00 on the Unikrn TV Twitch channel!
