Reddit Knows Balance: Results Posted: 07 Jul 2018 10:53 AM PDT Hello everyone! Today, we have the results of Reddit Knows Balance, our community's attempt to balance the game. Participation in this thread was amazing and I thank you all for contributing your ideas, good or bad. Definitely have to do this again sometime. These were the most popular ideas of that thread. Enjoy reading! Champions Aatrox It can be very annoying to have your most important spell go on cooldown while you were in the middle of using it, because you were disabled during your revive. New: Aatrox's Q recast time does not decay while he is reviving via his ultimate. Suggested by /u/SluttyCthulhu Aatrox's Q is very hard to hit enemies with as the game progresses. New: Aatrox's Q casting animations become faster with cooldown reduction Suggested by /u/magneticafro Kayn A quality of life change for Kayn players. New: Kayn can now ping how much of his transform meter he has filled. Suggested by /u/shenyougankplz Kog'Maw We felt that Kog'Maw struggles to be relevant when he has no mobility to escape from assassins and bruisers that jump on him. New: Void Ooze now speeds up Kog'Maw while he walks on it. Suggested by /u/taberius Lissandra Lissandra's passive is boring and we'd like to emphasize her CC as her strength.* Old passive > Removed New Passive: Icy Grasp Damaging an enemy Champion 3 times in rapid succession with Lissandra's abilities or basic attacks makes them Brittle (same as Ornn's Brittle). Lissandra can only make a Champion Brittle once every 15 seconds. Each champion damaged by Lissandra's Ultimate counts as a separate damage event for Icy Grasp. Suggested by /u/ParagonFury Mordekaiser We're not reworking Mordekaiser for at least another decade, so in the meantime here are some bugfixes. This was such an undertaking, that the Nunu rework had to be delayed 3 months because we took the time to work on this instead. New: Mordekaiser doesn't have bugs Suggested by /u/Epictortle8 Nautilus Nautilus, an anchor of the jungle in seasons past, has recently struggled to stay afloat with changes to camp experience and damage. His high base damage on Riptide and innate crowd control abilities make him a powerful laning foe, but with poor scaling on his key jungle ability players are forced to give up significant resources in the early game, with little payoff late. These changes are intended to make Nautilus a bit less sink-or-swim on snowballing early. W: Titan's Wrath Mana cost at all levels: 80 > 60/65/70/75/80 Damage ratio: +20% AP > +2% Bonus Health New: Now With More Wrath: Deals 50% bonus damage to monsters. Suggested by /u/BoPRocks Rek'Sai Rek'Sai could do with some small buffs to her first clear, as having to do 4 camps without the extra damage from her E often leaves her quite low for what is supposed to be an early game dominant champion. New: Now has 8% bonus attack speed level 1 P: Fury of the Xer'sai: Healing increased to 35-205 from 20-190. Suggested by /u/Bazman99 Yasuo To discourage immature players from playing this difficult champion, we've decided to modernize Yasuo's lore. RIP all Yasuo x Riven fanfics. New: All marksmen deal 100% more damage to Hashinshin. Suggested by /u/JustcallmeDexter Items Health Potions Say it with me: LASERS. Regenerates 5 health every half-second for 15 seconds, restoring a total of 150 health. > Regenerates 5 health every half-second for 15 seconds, restoring a total of 150 health but with colorful lasers. Suggested by /u/lucaskhelm Ohmwrecker Our latest attempt to revive Ohmwrecker is as an anti-pushing tool. Turret Disable > Removed New: Activating Ohmwrecker on a tower creates a field around the tower's radius that stuns all minions and slows enemy champions by 50% for 3 seconds. (180 seconds cooldown) Suggested by /u/Dwarvelord Spellthief Line Sometimes alternate strategies show up in League of Legends, and we try to give them what support we can. Adding adaptive damage on to Spellthief's Edge seemed like an easy way to give off-meta supports like Miss Fortune, Ashe, and Gangplank some love, without pushing them over the edge in their usual lane. Who knows what other new champions will rise up in the bottom lane? New: Spellthief's Edge now gives +10 AP/+6 AD, adaptive. New: Frostfang now gives +20 AP/+12 AD, adaptive. New: Remnant/Eye of the Watchers now give +35 AP/ + 21 AD, adaptive. Suggested by /u/987412365159753 Dragon Fighting Elder Dragon should be an epic battle, more interesting than just breathing on a champion once every few seconds like the lesser dragons. New: Elder Dragon has elemental abilities depending on the dragons that were slain before. If Infernal Drakes were slain, fire breath. (Aoe damage in a cone that burns players) Mountain Drake - creates rock spikes coming from the ground knocking players up a bit. You see where the spike is going to appear in advance so you have time to dodge. Cloud Drake - When the Elder Dragon wings are flapping it creates tornadoes every now and then. (Kinda like Janna Q, you see the tornado building up until it's strong enough). Ocean Drake - The river is agitated around the Drake during the fight and can create small maelstrom that slow players down and deal DoT. The effect of each Drake is increased if 2 or 3 of that Drake type were slain. Suggested by /u/Jayavarmen Baron Nashor This is to increase the investment necessary for a team to get an early Baron, while still keeping Baron powerful for those teams that can get it early. Starting Health: 9000 > 12000 Suggested by /u/Zeltheo Twisted Treeline We're making changes to Twisted Treeline to bring it up to date with other game modes, and address gold funneling strategies that have plagued it for years. New: Games on Twisted Treeline grant Mastery Support items (Relic shield, Spellthief, etc.) > Removed New: Base Gates: Players cannot leave the fountain until 15 seconds after the game start Suggested by /u/nimrodhellfire Jungle Jungling is more or less impossible in 2018 without Smite, so we're giving players an option to just give up if nobody on the team took the spell. No offense to the bronze jungle Warwicks that were doing fine without it. New: Teams can vote to remake at the start of the game if nobody on the team has Smite. Spending time with my niece changed my perspective on Zoe as a champion. Posted: 07 Jul 2018 11:23 AM PDT I am a self-admitted "Zoe hater." Since Riot released her, I have been very loud about my disapproval in several ways. I considered her egregious, a waste of space, a highlight of all the weaknesses in Riot's game design. Annoying, loud, childish. A magnet for all of the worst members of the game's community. But then I spent the last week watching my niece. And I really understand something I didn't before. My niece is six years old and a bit of a drama queen. One of her favorite activities is pretending to have a problem with something, no matter how little, just for fun. She has little respect for my private space or my stuff (rest in peace my old baseball trophy...) and overall was an absolute demon. Taking care of her sorta felt like having a Zoe on my team. It's a far reach of a metaphor but after finally getting her to sleep I had dreams myself of people locking in Zoe, except it wasn't Zoe, it was my niece's face. But even though it was suffering to take care of her on my own, there were these bits that changed everything. For the first time in my life somebody else was relying on me. My niece took me back to when I was a kid, a time I see I cut out somewhere along growing up. There were funny moments--I was laughing like I hadn't in years. My favorite time was taking her to a pancake house. There was only one table and it had chairs across from each other, so she sat across from me and insisted she "do all the stuff." So I sat there giggling like a loon while my niece attempted to pronounce 'hoovos ranchers' to the waitress. Through and through, the experience changed me. This years rift rivals EU vs NA was actually really fun to watch Posted: 07 Jul 2018 04:11 PM PDT Riot did a great job this year making Rift Rivals a tournament that mixed serious games with some fiesta games that were really fun to watch. Even the players looked like they were enjoying it. If Riot makes next years tournament similar to this years, I'll definitely watch it again. I ranked League's champions in groups based on the chart in their overviews Posted: 06 Jul 2018 07:54 PM PDT As many of you have seen in the League of Legends client, when you go to champion collection, choose a champion, and look under their overview tab, you will see a chart representing their abilities; specifically, the amount of Damage, Utility, Mobility, Crowd Control, and Toughness they have. https://i.redd.it/zb1yhkhp3h811.png I assume these charts are based on their ability sets, as well as their growth ratios relating to those five traits. I wanted to see which champions have the most points on their chart as a whole. In a way, this proves who the most all-around useful champions in the game are. I thought I would share the results with you in an organized fashion. https://i.redd.it/usntqa523h811.png Based on this data, one can argue that Rakan, Shen, and Aatrox are the the most useful champions in League right now (since they have a little of every trait, or a lot in multiple traits), whereas Miss Fortune and Kog'Maw are the least useful. I would like to state that Rek'Sai and Jarvan IV are the only two champions right now that are perfectly rounded in everything (not lacking or excelling in any one trait).
