The Silver-Blood Inn really is a wonderful trainwreck

Posted: 24 Nov 2017 05:46 PM PST

I know this is super old news, but it just occurred to me as I was exploring it again on my latest game.

I walk into the inn and the innkeeper's wife starts loudly arguing with her husband about how all the furniture is soaked with mead and ruined. The local bard tugs at his collar and attempts to drown them out with his croaking rendition of The Dragonborn Comes. In the midst of all this a drunk at the bar challenges me to a fistfight. Afterward I give a coin to a filthy beggar who thanks me by telling me to get lost, but then starts spouting off about a valuable statue he wants stolen. The owners' kids tell me to ignore their parents who bicker constantly, at which point they immediately start arguing AGAIN, and right on cue the bard belts out his song again. And as I scavenge all the rooms for gold, books and other interesting items, The Dragonborn Comes keeps echoing through the place several more times.

It's just a great microcosm shitshow of Skyrim's NPCs.

First time on Skyrim (Nintendo Switch) and loving it

Posted: 24 Nov 2017 11:23 PM PST

So I'm only a few hours in and about lv5 but I appear to have pissed off the Imperials and committed several counts of abusing a corpse. Just because it was funny. I'm aiming for an Alucard-like character (think Hellsing Ultimate Abridged) so obviously wanting to go for Vampire Lord and balls-out Necromancy. Any advice?

What's the most disturbing/scary thing in skyrim to you?

Posted: 24 Nov 2017 08:09 PM PST

I've been going for oblivion walker lately, some of them are actually quite disturbing/scary. For some reason the miasma thing creeped me out a lot.

Troubles in Riften

Posted: 25 Nov 2017 05:55 AM PST

Someone here in this subreddit mentioned of people in Riften getting crazy after you dropped something there. Out of curiosity I travelled to Riften square, dropped 10 cheese wheels (I have a cheese cache in my breezehome), and watched. Brand-shei went first, claiming the cheese, but out of nowhere Mjoll disputed the claim and hacked the man to death with her Grimsever.

People in Riften should take a break.

Tips for getting to level 80?

Posted: 25 Nov 2017 05:06 AM PST

Hi there. I'm looking to get to level 80 on my vanilla Argonian character, Onyx. Onyx is level 47 and specialises in Heavy Armour, Two Handed, One Handed and Archery (alongside Smithing and Enchanting which I won't be using for a little while).

I'm wondering, what skill would be the most effective at making legendary for leveling up? I have already made Two Handed Legendary, and am not exactly looking for much challenge. I'm trying to get to level 80 so I can get the achievement for killing a Legendary dragon. A feat I have admittedly never acomplished in vanilla before. I have 5 achievements left. Two of which involve breaking the law, the other is the last theives guild quest and level 50 + killing a Legendary Dragon.

The only other noteworthy stat for Onyx is lockpicking, at 80. But I don't want to reverse that. I hate Skyrims lockpicking, the sweet spots are just far too unforgiving sometimes.

Can't Find Lydia in Switch Game... tried everything- HELP!

Posted: 25 Nov 2017 06:49 AM PST

I apologize for a "dumb" question, but alas I'm fairly new to RPG's (my boyfriend got me back into video games when the Switch came out) and I can't solve this.

I can't find Lydia!

I've looked into a bunch of articles online before asking here. So far I've tried: 1) looking all around Whiterun. Waited 48 hours (but I've been like "11 days" without her thus far) 2) Looking all around Dragonsreach 3) Looking at my Breezehome 4) Looking in the tombs at Whiterun's "Hall of the Dead"

I chose Imperial, so I didn't lose her when the Stormcloaks took Whiterun (or rather, didn't)

I am currently a vampire because I didn't heal myself quick enough, would that have anything to do with it?

She is nowhere to be found...

Any ideas?

Noticed something about the two handed Grimsever from the unofficial patch

Posted: 25 Nov 2017 01:08 AM PST

When I wield it, it's unsheathed. But when Mjoll the Lioness wields it as one of my followers, she wields it with the sword still in the scabbard. I'm not sure how to feel about this yet. Anyone else notice this?

Also, it seems Mjoll hates dogs, or at the very least, thinks Meeko is a stupid dog. I loved her the first time I played skyrim. Not sure if I love her as much now.
